I cannot endorse Chelsea-style rain boots enough. I have these. Granted, I live in the NYC area so it's not horribly rainy but I wear these to work constantly--they are easy to walk in and they look so much better than knee-high boots

I had no idea people were so opposed to them. Goodness. I don't really dig on the dual-tone kind, but I bought two pairs of these (this yellow, and the green) a few years ago because I have to walk around in inclement weather frequently enough. I love them, and get so many complements on them too. Plus they're still like new.

12.19.11 Monday I'm wearing a Calvin Klein navy sweater dress via Marshall's, black (fleece lined!) leggings via Nordstrom Rack, wrap belt from The Limited, and boots from 6pm.com. Damn, is the mirror in my work bathroom disgusting.

12.20.11 Tuesday I'm wearing a pink sheath dress from Kohl's, long gray sweater from I don't remember where, gray Hue tights, pink old Navy flats. I wish I had a cuff bracelet or something, but I have NO bracelets.

12.21.11 Wednesday is my Friday this week! I'm wearing a gray dress from TJ Maxx, I think? Burgundy cardigan from target, black leggings from Kohls, Rockport Lorraine rainboots, and a black belt that might be from Target, I don't quite remember.

12.22.11 - 12.24.11 My dad had (planned) surgery Thursday so I spent about 10 hours at the hospital. It went well! But I didn't really dress to impress. I may post a Christmas Day outfit but my Friday and Saturday are going to be grungy stay-in or errand days that aren't worth a photo, I promise.

After months of searching/hoping, I finally found true high rise black jeans with 93% cotton... and I got them for $35!!! thank you Gap!

I've only worn them once (after washing) so I'll have to see about longevity, but so far it feels like a Christmas miracle.

I also finally got some Chelsea rain boots after holding out for ever. The Sam Edelman ones went on sale on Amazon for $22 (usually $55) a few weeks ago and I pulled the trigger.

Sorry in advance for formatting because I have no idea how to do that on mobile yet, but I just bought these Chelsea rain boots because I live in Philly and walk everywhere and my boots were getting destroyed, and I absolutely goddamn hate rain boots. It's been a month of wearing them every day. I love them. And no one can tell they're rubber!

General Question: How many LBDs is too many?

Specific Question: I had a dress on an Amazon wishlist that I just noticed has dropped to under $10 and I was ready to pull the trigger on it—then I noticed it came not only in Black, but also Navy. And now I’m staring at my computer screen going between “black is classic and versatile” and “you already have 3 black dresses and 0 navy ones.”

I’m slightly cool toned with blue eyes and light brown/dark blonde hair, if I should be considering my coloring. Navy and Black are both fairly large parts of my wardrobe, to the extent that I’m actually surprised I don’t own a completely navy dress. But even on the navy version of this dress, there are some black fabric panels. I’m not sure if I like the combo. I’m probably overthinking this.

ETA: Second question! I've been eyeing these boots forever and was hoping to also buy them, but there a decent number of reviews complaining about the durability of the shoes, and that got me thinking... is the Sam Edelman seller on Amazon even verified? is there a way to tell? There are some out-of-place items being sold by that page (like the lightbulbs and radiator test ??), which are making me question it's legitimacy. I'm leaning toward ordering off of Sam Edelman's own site (the price is about the same), but now I'm questioning every Amazon seller's identity haha.

Northern and central Italy can get pretty chilly this time of year so I would suggest you ditch the tanks and add a sweater. I’d also suggest water proofing your shoes or swapping the oxfords for some rain booties that you could wear on the plane - I just got theseAsgard rain booties and they’re comfy and can be folded up if need be! Buone vacanze!

What about chelsea rainboots? I have a pair in black from J.Crew, they're waterproof and I got matte ones so you can't really tell that they are rubber boots from far away.

u/syrupp_ · 2 pointsr/femalefashion

Of all the rubber rain boots that is on my list, I think the Tretorn one is the most warm. The other rain boots I have on my list were leather...

Tretorn Gunnar rain boots - it looks like sneakers but they're actually rain boots

Kate Spade rubber boots - there's also a Jimmy Choo version but it had a shiny finish which kinda defeats the purpose of not letting other people know it's actually rubber

Melissa Rainboots - matte rubber

the sam edelman tinsley is really similar, has great reviews and would probably be available in nordstrom or other department stores!

i have the stormy and they are definitely not comfortable - i have narrow feet and they're almost too narrow for me.

Could these work for going out to dinner with tights/dress or ponte pants/nice blouse?

I'm traveling soon and it's going to be very rainy but I want to minimize my packing list and bring 2 pairs of shoes tops.

Happy birthday to your baby! Noodles!

I know it isn't at all the asme but we celebrated my puppy's birthday on the 19th, and did a photoshoot which was super fun and made me so happy! :)

Here is the item- a pair of rain boots, as I do not have anything to wear on my feet when it rains in the spring :) Thanks for the contest!

I have a lightweight + inexpensive rain coat from Uniqlo that I love! As for rain boots, I have a pair from Sam Edelman but they aren't 100% waterproof. I've been eyeing this pair though

I was just in ireland two weeks ago! I took two pairs of shoes with me and it worked out pretty well. I took a pair of Blondo Liams in the taupe color for walking around the cities and going out at night. Super cute and waterproof, went with everything. Love them. Then I took a pair of Sperry Duckboots as well for walking around the countryside and they were a life saver. We were there just after the snow so everything was puddles and super muddy. Our feet stayed dry and we could trudge through all the muddy puddles we wanted and not care if our shoes got dirty. We just washed them off in the sink later that night!

Do Sam Edelman shoes have much support? About how long do they last with moderate wear? I'm looking at getting their ankle rain boot, but I want something somewhat supportive that will last a while.

If these are no good, does anyone have suggestions for a supportive black flat ankle boot that has some water resistance (aka I won't get soaked when I take puppy out on a walk in the rain)?

Similar option?

Sam Edelman

Also, Jeffrey Campbell's "Stormy" is fairly similar, but doesn't have the best reviews.

u/Callque · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I had Sam Edelman's Tinsley boots in polished black for a couple years and loved them. I needed a wide width so I recently replaced them with A New Day's Alex boots and I'm loving the matte black because at first glace they can pass as normal boots. I wear them with cuffed jeans like this and a jacket similar to this. It's great because it doesn't look so obviously 'rain gear' like most are.

Not brown, but I wear this with basically the same motivation as you.
