Let's see, I found that Escobar made roughly 420 million dollars a week so he would have made approximately 1.8 billion dollars a month.
I can't really imagine how much he paid for rubber bands or how much money he stacked in each rubber band. I'll assume he made stacks of 10'000 dollars each and that a pack of 500 rubber bands costs 4$.
If he made 1.8 billion dollars a month he would have had to use 1'800'000'000/10'000 = 180'000 rubber bands. Therefore he would have spent 180'000/500*4 = 1'440 $ which is less than 2'800 but still quite significant. The final result could vary widely based on how the money was stacked and how much he spent for rubber bands but 2'800 could actually be true.

For those who need to do this while moving the computer around, heavyweight rubber bands work to secure the keyboard. The Macbook can even be used in bed. The only thing that can't be done is closing the computer, and certainly you'd never want to show it to anyone, but otherwise the contraption is an acceptable substitute until you replace or repair the computer.

12" silicone X bands
I have been satisfied with these on Dominion, Five Tribes, Escape. Also, I'd read somewhere that the silicone will not degrade over time and stick/melt into the boxes.
The 9" bands do well for Race for the Galaxy, Leaving Earth etc.
Wish I had seen this Assorted sizes pack before now. The small ones are probably great for little games like Chronicle.
Edit: More links.

This is geared towards climbers but has the best section on rehabilitation that I've seen for joint/pip/pulley injuries. If you have had pain for that long you've likely developed scar tissue...this is going to make things tougher and will require GENTLE stretching and massage to gradually break it up while also strengthening the area.
Similar to climbing, most of typing involves using "finger muscles" (which are actually in your forearm) in only one direction (the one used to close your fingers, not open them). Therefore, one of the best exercises to prevent injuries is to do the reverse exercise, which is finger extension with resistance. This is in the doc, though I have to say rubber bands were never sufficient, and I highly recommend a set with variable "weights," for example this one: https://www.amazon.com/Expand-Your-Hand-Bands-10-Pack-Goodbye/dp/B00083B79M/ref=sr_1_1
I actually have one next to my desk right now. As a bonus, if you play golf or tennis this will also help with "elbow" pain, which is really due to tendon strain as a result of lack of strength in the same muscle group.
While you massage, stretch, and most importantly strengthen, do not be afraid to use the offending area. They DO grow back, but you need to get blood there. That means using it. Good luck :)
If you don't like your friend, get him a hard gripper.
Cheap, easy, and safe things might include expansion bands or a wrist roller.
The most practical solution for someone genuinely wanting stronger hands (and not a fidget toy for when they're bored) would be something like an adjustable Ivanko Super Gripper, though they are not cheap.
Gaffer's tape is the most durable and non-sticky tape I can think of, but it's expensive and mostly comes in black.
Are these pistol mags or do they stick out from the frame? If the latter, you could wrap them with different-colored rubber bands.
make sure to use random colored rubber bands to suspend and tied down everything!
Plastibands! They are similar to rubber in performance, but they don't contract (they even relax a bit over time). Been using them for 4-5 years no problem.

These are great and have 5 star reviews, however unsure if it exactly what you were looking for.

I like the bands better than the individual fingers but YMMV. I have the "Ironmind" brand and I love them:

> I can make bump stocks for under $50.
Why work? Here's several hundred bumpstocks for $4.87 on Amazon.
If I recall correctly (and I'm sure someone will point out any error in the comments) there aren't actually any muscles in the fingers.
I would think your standard grip work would do well for you. As for the comparable opening hand movement, I've had these in my wishlist for quite some time.
edit: Yes! Wikipedia for the win!
>Fingers do not contain muscles other than arrector pili muscles. The muscles that move the finger joints are in the palm and forearm. The long tendons that deliver motion from the forearm muscles may be observed to move under the skin at the wrist and on the back of the hand.
I use these cross-style silicone bands! They work great for the IP.

I'm pretty sure you'd be better off making your own; you can buy the bands for dirt cheap.

Grip training is tricky because compared to most other forms of strength training, there is much more emphasis on tendon strength. And the thing about tendons is that they don't give you the same kind of feedback that muscles do when they get tired. All this means I've found it's easier to overtrain and injure your tendons, and so it's important to throw in extra rest days here and there, especially as a beginner or when upping the resistance.
Take some time off, stretch your hands, and you'll probably be alright.
Also, don't neglect the forearm muscles used to open your fingers. A lot of grip trainers focus solely on squeeze strength to their detriment, the equivalent of exclusively working out your biceps but never your triceps. For the most effective strength t's important to work complimentary muscle groups. I've been using these after a tennis player friend recommended them to me a few years ago and they're excellent.
Rubber bands seem safe. I bought some wide long ones on amazon for my cat awhile ago. Here's the link, it might work for you:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017LR7CU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You can either pay this person £20 for 10 rubber bands, some image files, and some printed stuff, or buy 1800 rubber bands for $3.85.
Seems a pretty clear-cut choice for anybody capable to living without adult supervision.
Not really gains but for strength: this and this have worked well for me.
There are a few "rifle" and pistol styles made by companies, but in all honestly they are far too small and silly looking for a man to carry around. They don't really have the shape and look of a flintlock or matchlock/wheel-lock firearm. I have made most of mine by hand. For a long rifle, I used a 2x12 and cut it to the shape I wanted (looked online to find a pattern that I liked then glued a plastic clothespin at the back of the barrel location. You'll have to order some larger heavy duty rubber bands or make your own with surgical tubing.
Here is a link for the type of bands I use for my musket.

I'll post a picture of some pistols i'm working on later.
You can buy packs of them from amazon like these or perhaps these. Just get ones that fit your tank. 21-22mm will usually stretch and fit well on bubble glass, for straight glass they'll stay but are too easily moved around, imo. So I'd look for something a bit smaller for that tank like these 18mm ones. The width of the band is also measured in mm, and thicker is almost always going to be better. I wouldn't bother with the super thin ones like the SMOK ones that are only 2-3mm tall, cuz they dont protect for crap unless you use a bunch. For reference, 6mm = 1/4", 12mm = 1/2".
Most online vape sites, surprisingly, don't sell them and when they do they're usually overpriced. Hence the Amazon links.

277 rubberbands that you can use to make a homemade rubberband ball
Those bands are Grifiti X bands, designed to keep game boxes closed during transit. I have them on a lot of my games, particularly ones that I take with me more frequently. They're not the best version for storage, because they're a little on the thick side. There are slimmer versions out there, but it's convenient to be able to buy a whole bunch of these in different sizes and colors, and they work well on non-game boxes as well.
My inner Beauty-Macgyver is thinking you could use hair elastics. Just be careful not to put them on too tightly or else they may get a crimp in them.
This is actually a valid question. The lasers do not have a brand that I know of. Just look for a 3 pack from china for $10. It's those:

Honestly, get a couple of big rubber bands like these and you'll probably be fine. What's the manufacturer and model of the shaker, maybe you can find something from there?
You should get some kind of wrist extensor training tool to counter the flexor training you are about to do. I use these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00083B79M/ref=asc_df_B00083B79M5284604/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395033&creativeASIN=B00083B79M&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198074695887&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7311871857324905174&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1023191&hvtargid=pla-320458756018
I love the CoC training tools, been using them for a while. Recently closed the 1.5 and now the 2 is what I am aiming for. Busting them out at parties to fuck with people is fun as hell
Sonya (my niece's name is Sonja hehe), your Momma wouldn't tell you this but...learn how to rock red lipstick when you get older :-D
my sonja is obsessed with these
I use Plastibands. No residue, and not one that I've used has broken yet.
Yes, it will help with the extensors on the top of your forearm.
I bought this pack: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00083B79M/ which I like because it gives you a number of progressively wider bands so you can do progressive overload like in any other strength training.
I like to use the rubber x bands made by Moma. Cheap and they do the job nicely.

Grafiti Band Pocket Wallet has done a nice job for my 2 cards + ID. Occasionally some cash. Trick is to use it on the end of the cards, not the middle as shown. Much easier access.
I couldn't find Box Bands, but these work reasonably well for most games. They have a couple different sizes depending on what size boxes you want to secure.

I practice with some cheap ones from amazon (that break frequently), and perform with Joe's pricey ones. Here are the cheap ones:

number 19 non-latex rubber bands, 3 1/2 x 1/16 inches
Since those are Third party items for mainly the Frame Arms an original line of kits mirroring MG Gundam models, then its unreliable in how it fits to other companies and their kits.
If you can find tiny translucent clear rubber bands, I have had a few for figures and I have them on their hands on keep their weapons in place. On an MG it should be easy enough to hide between fingers and other crevices as well as being translucent. Offers a different option vs glue or blu tac.
Considering the recent craze for "loom bands" then finding such should very very very easy.
Here is a UK listing for such http://www.amazon.co.uk/Braiding-Elastics-Polyurethane-Dreads-Braids/dp/B009QXQH0E
and a US one http://www.amazon.com/Gold-Magic-Clear-Elastic-Braiding/dp/B000NJHONY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420893985&sr=8-1&keywords=Clear++small+rubber+bands
If you feel like the white of the band might be too much and not clear enough, you could just get some black ones and those should blend into your gunpla's hands nicely. (if they are black....)

Better cheaper option. Also multiple sizes so you can use thicker filters which work better.
Yup - obviously the insert had to go... but it fits! :)
I also got one of those box rubber bands to help keep it all together - as it's tight and would SUCK if it popped open - Like these - but can't find the one I actually have.
I don't know about cases, stickers might work. I have these silicone bands from Grifiti Bands I got off amazon, but the company rocks to deal with directly too. I use them on mason jars and other things for grip, so a couple stacked bands might do you (basically food grade silicone bands like bracelets).

Interesting. I use 1 or 2 of the sizes in this https://smile.amazon.com/Alliance-SuperSize-Resealable-Containing-Inches/dp/B0017D16PW/ref=pd_sim_229_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=VSAZB9ZP7PJZK8C0BS5F (on mobile) and they don't warp or stress my box lids. 5 inches doesn't warp the larger boxes?
Ziplock bags to keep pieces together, these in various sizes to stop boxes from opening https://www.amazon.com/Wrapping-Exercise-MacBooks-Replacements-Silicone/dp/B00GLJ421W
Ok, hopefully these will be able to fit.
I think you should get her this bag of colorful rubber bands. If she's bored or stressed out, she can create her own rubber band ball! Might sound sorta lame, but I totally did this my freshman year and loved it. :) College Bound, surprise me.
Its an "x-shaped" rubberband that we have lying around where I work. It looks like Amazon carries something similar.
I use these on a few games...others I just use velcro dots between the lid and bottom on two sides.
Dude, thanks so much again for the informative response! Going to shoot for higher reps with the Trainer before moving back to the #1.
While I got you here, quick question (since you seem to know what you're talking about); do you have any thoughts on these expander band things?:
http://www.amazon.com/Expand-Your-Hand-Bands-10-Pack-Goodbye/dp/B00083B79M?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_1&smid=A2T23XKLYNBN84
I'm thinking they might be good to do on days I'm not doing grip training to avoid injury and increase flexibility. I'd imagine one could just use strong rubber bands or whatever but they're cheap enough that I'm thinking about ordering them. I noticed some soreness after using my #1 before I got the Trainer and it seemed expanding my fingers (even without the tension of bands) was helpful in relieving it.
Everyone uses the Captains of Crush. These things are no joke—the Trainer model will be plenty challenging if you're pretty strong. Back off to the Sport or Guide if you're not.
The Expand Your Hand Bands are recommended for working the opposing muscles and warding off tendonitis.
Be careful mixing grip training with serious dry fire. It's real easy to flare up some nasty tendonitis in your elbows.

I believe that is the same brand that Joe buys although I think he had to get a bunch of custom colors then he treats them with the Elastraflex. I actually bought a pack of the treated Rainbow to see if they perform better(plus I wanted more colors), but the blue one work great otherwise.
I had bought these for myself, they're 9".
On top of what /u/Glocjt referenced:
Buy these, and get a heavy hammer. Work in some pronator/supinator exercises.
Make them at home. All you need to do is coat these with batter and deep fry them:
They weren’t that expensive for a box of 175 here in the states. So I did a quick looksy for the same exact brand the DTR comes with on the UK Amazon and they’re not too expensive either.

Do you need it to be "permanent" as in survives shop use or "permanent" as in unable to be removed by a conniving employee?
If #2 then engraving is your best option. If #1 then I'd think about something that can identify the sets, but can also be changed by you as sets and tools get rearranged (if necessary).
It seems that if set 1 is missing a tool and set 2 has a tool that is missing its ID, then it's pretty easy to put 2 and 2 together. In other words, the IDs don't need to be permanent, they just need to be consistent.
The sell small silicone rubber bands in tons of colors. You could put some around every tool handle and then tell people that it's there responsibility to keep their set together and make sure that every tool in the set is identified. The silicone should be okay with most acids etc. And if, say, you need to downsize from 5 sets to 4 you can cut off the bands and reorganize.
That being said, a really conniving employee could buy their own bands and use them to steal other sets' tools.
I like your idea about the rope, but I think would be simpler and more effective to use some small cabinet knobs and a rubber band material. You could put a couple of knobs near two of corners and wrap a rubber band or hair tie around them. Space them so the band will be taut.
