If it's for home use, you can use one of these.

Keyless thumb lock

Very nice! If you bolt these things in, you can turn that removable center section into a dining table too.

Or just ditch the hatchet all together, then get a folding saw (Im not specifically recommending that one, just an example) which will be much more useful, smaller, and weigh less. Also a pair of lightweight grippy gloves isnt a bad idea.

I’m guessing it’s like this . There’s a few on there, just search model 3 air mattress.

Get some no-rinse body wash or body wipes used by athletes. You can stay pretty clean that way. They also make no-rinse shampoos, both wet and dry, though check the reviews if your hair is anything other than Caucasian.

You may wish to have a bucket with a lid. A bucket is an infinitely useful thing. You can do sponge baths in it, use it as an emergency toilet, wash clothes/dishes, etc. When not in use, you can store stuff in it. They make collapsible buckets that get quite small.

Bring a towel. Bring lots of paper towels.

You'll want eating utensils. A set of camp dishes for using on your stove. Salt, pepper, sugar packets, condiment packets (easier than storing bottles of the stuff). Figure out how you're going to eat without spilling food everywhere.

Bring a folding chair. You may want a pretty low one so you can sit next to your stove and cook.

Sleeping bags give superior draft resistance. I say this as somebody who used to sleep in her car a lot. No matter how you tuck the blankets, something will be cold.

Stuff like this may make your sleep more comfortable:

Sort supplies into small crates so you can pack more efficiently.

Bring a paper map.

Truck stops were my preferred places to sleep. They have showers, and nobody minds if you park overnight.

Enjoy!

buy those inflatable car mattresses on amazon they're like 30 bucks. something like this (its just a reference, not a recommendation) https://www.amazon.com/Ancheer-Multifunctional-Inflatable-Mattress-Inflation/dp/B0192P32UI

Amazon has a $25 car air mattress (link) , which fits into the back seat of your car. It would really help you sleep better, and you can get it delivered to an amazon locker since you don’t have an address.

Before I was in a tight money spot myself, I used to buy food or things like the mattress for people in the r/assistance and r/RandomKindness groups. The people there are super helpful, and you should definitely post a link (with other things too if you need). I know sleeping in a car sucks, so even this little thing would make it a little easier!

u/ref2018 · 4 pointsr/polyamory

These come in all sizes and thicknesses, and they are not made in China.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J3H9X3G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They are billed as "mattress toppers" but I use a 4-inch thick one on a plywood platform and it's more comfortable than anything I've ever slept on, including memory-foam. And these are INEXPENSIVE as hell.

u/live-love-explore · 3 pointsr/overlanding

I have sold my Gobi rack and RTT. Thanks to the overlanding craze I actually flipped them for a profit.

I switched back to sleeping in the rear of my Jeep JKU 4 door. The seats fold nearly perfectly flat and combine with this.

Jeep JKU Sleeping Pad

It makes for an excellent sleeping space in the rear of the Jeep.

My biggest reason for doing this was I often explore and drive to hiking trailheads after setting up camp somewhere. The requirement to pack up the RTT every time I wanted to go hiking was not worth it anymore.

Lastly I do some rather extreme rock crawling trails and found the Jeep performed very poorly over boulders with the rack and RTT weight all up top. I found I would leave the RTT at home when doing a extreme trail and wish I didn’t even have the rack for those runs.

I'm inclined toward YTA. I get that you wouldn't be replacing the car if it weren't for her, but it's really not cool to ask a non-cohabitating girlfriend to help you buy a vehicle. Either you want and can afford to upgrade, or you don't.

Could you use something like this to upgrade the sleep space without the expense of buying a new vehicle? I'm assuming, for the sake of discussion, that you have reasons for not using a tent.

u/plasticbuddha · 3 pointsr/GoRVing

I do believe you want one of these.

Nice! I fully recommend a truck bed tent and a truck bed air mattress. You increase the amount of free space in your camp spot tenfold.

u/mongler_richard · 2 pointsr/Portland

Putting these over your windows will do even better than just curtains alone. All the heat trying to get in will be reflected back outside. It leaves it dark inside but way better than sweating your balls off needlessly.

u/czechsonme · 2 pointsr/NationalPark

These things work pretty darn good too. Not sure for how long and I suggest bringing a roll of good clear packing tape, but comfortable for the most part.

u/Farkee · 2 pointsr/camping

They make air mattresses specifically for truck beds, this one is $120 and has worked great in my experience 4 times out. You can use a basic tarp to cover the truck bed (Like this ) or you can buy a truck bed tent like this one which is $180. No experience with this one, but the concept is pretty much the same across the board.

Two people in a small car in the winter is going to zero fun. Not sure if you've tried it yet, but you're going to have a load of condensation unless you crack the windows and then it's going to get cold. They make mattresses for car backseats that kind of stay level. Never seen anything for a front seat.

You can get a Coleman fast pitch tent for less than a hundred bucks. Their insta-cabin goes for $80 on Amazon. Walmart has some Ozark Trail ones that are similar.

Pick up a couple of sleeping pads for warmth and comfort and you'll be good.

As for paying, there are loads of places to camp for free. /u/Circle_in_a_Spiral posted a good source.

u/Hosko817 · 2 pointsr/bourbon

I've had various flasks "both stainless and non" over the years. Most of the stainless steel ones have been fine but some did actually leave a funny mineral/metallic/acidy taste in my mouth. I'm no expert but, I just assume it's the amount of iron used in the alloy. Could just be that the flask is dirty.

I did however switch to this one last fall and it's pretty much the best one I've ever owned. Looks like it's out of stock currently though :(

u/DMGUp · 2 pointsr/teslamotors

Got it off Amazon here.

u/Dr_Pippin · 2 pointsr/TeslaLounge

Looks like there are some that flare a bit (or narrow a bit, depending how you’re looking at it) to get a better fit:

I was kinda torn when I built mine, but I ended up removing the passenger front and passenger rear (so I still have 2 seats in it) and put the fridge under the platform I built using unistrut over the entire passenger side. I used a Goose Gear rear seat bracket so I could keep the driver rear seat.

I used one of these to act as the sleeping pad.:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M8NH4OB/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_iQr.BbTC8Q062

I'm pretty satisfied with it. I'm 6'1" so I didn't fit laying down, even diagonally in the back, so The decision was made to remove those seats

I've heard of many truck beds to be a "Short Queen" that are on amazon and the likes.... However a short queen would NOT have a 32in dimension on any side...

Is 32 the length or the width and what the other side? and is there a specific depth you would need as well?

u/icuddlekittens · 1 pointr/Advice

Sounds like a solid plan to keep busy during the day and stay on top of hygiene.

As far as sleeping arrangements, I don't know if this is an option for you, but...

Can you park your car in a friend's driveway at night so that you at least have somewhere safe to sleep? You could get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Travel-Inflatable-Mattress-Back-Extended/dp/B00HV47N3U

I lay a thick blanket on top to prevent any risk of puncture but also so it’s a bit softer for my pupper

u/n17ikh · 1 pointr/homelab

The locks on my Dell rack (and most racks) are typically cheap standard-issue cabinet locks. They may use a different cam but in my experience you can take the cam off the old lock and put it on the new one. The main variables for that kind of lock are length and diameter, so get those right and you'll be able to find drop-in replacements anywhere.

I also like thumb turn locks for this application, since they have about as much security as those crappy cylinder locks and are a lot less annoying than using a screwdriver after drilling them out.

u/Mcflyguy · 1 pointr/classiccars

Go ask /r/autodetailing. I would suggest a good convertible top cleaner like Griots. (Yes I know it's not a Vert) And then follow it up with something like 303 Aerospace UV protectant. This is what I would do.

Gotcha, thanks for the help! Found this, which might work for me if I want to be less creative https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017C0RLP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_hnhNxbAB19MRX
