I would look for a basic heel from Clarks. They don't sell mine anymore but I found these that I would totally buy if I were looking: https://www.amazon.com/CLARKS-Womens-Quest-Sandal-Leather/dp/B07M9BFWMY/ref=sr_1_14?keywords=clarks+heels+women&qid=1558469726&s=gateway&sr=8-14

Block heels, simple straps, neutral colors are the way to go!

u/sean_incali · 10 pointsr/running

Not at all.

Maybe you haven't seen these?

The ones I'm wondering about are this one, and this one

I've run using teva/teva clones and the likes in the past and they're fantastic for me. Keeps your feet cool and easy to clean and maintain. Just wear them into the shower.

edit let's add one more.

I gotta preach for a moment, OK?

Crocs Huarrache Flats are the best sandals ever invented. How do I love them? Let me list the ways:

  • First and foremost, they are comfortable. Walking all day comfortable. I'd rather wear them than be barefoot comfortable. When my feet get ruined with blisters and cuts and whatever, these are the shoes I wear the next day.
  • Second, they are weatherproof. Going to the beach, going boating, walking in the rain, whatever - these shoes come out totally fine on the other side. Bonus, they float, so when you walking into that lake with the stony bottom in your sandals, but then they slip off, you have not lost them forever.
  • They are cute. They're slim and streamlined with a low vamp creating a long leg line. The black ones are actually black, btw, even if they look dark olive in pictures.
  • They're versatile - I wear 'em with jeans and shorts, skirts and dresses. They can be dressed down or dressed up.
  • Finally, they are convenient - they're slip on/off so no buckles to fidget with. They're lightweight so they won't weigh down your luggage, and they're easy to clean - wash them like you would dishes. I've never put them in the dishwasher, but I've used dish scrubbing brushes on 'em.

The one downside is that the soles can wear down and become slippery if you wear them all the damn time like I do.

Clarks heels (strappy) 3inches ish (I personlly have these & they are incredibly comfortable, I am not a heel person at all and they are my go to (and only pair) of heels) I actually bought them at Winners - I think in the states that would be marshalls or ross?

Thick heel sandal -black/brown

Similar to above but all brown

brown sandal with smaller heel

honestly it's really up to you! I used clarks as an example because they are crazy comfy and you will have them for a long time! They have a ton of options though, more formal heels, low sandals, wedges, 1-2 inch shoes, etc!

Even flats, mules or slides would look really great in my opinion!

u/Lenify · 6 pointsr/running

Running barefoot often helps teach proper running technique. Don't assume you can run as far as you can with shoes though initially. Start slow with low mileage. Slowly build up as your feet adjust.

Also save up for some minimal shoes. I'm currently running in these and they feel great. Very similar to barefoot, yet with a nice thin layer of rubber to protect from glass, metal, sharp rocks, etc.

Another great option for cheap.

u/bethanyb00 · 5 pointsr/weddingplanning

I wore 2" block heels and they were comfy all day! We didn't have dancing at my wedding but I think they would have been comfy for dancing too.

Link to the shoes.

My number one park shoes are my Chacos. I love love love them. But they need to be well broken in before a day in the parks.

On my last trip I brought a pair of Sanuk Yoga Sling Sandals, and I loved them! They were super comfy, the sling kept them on, and they dried quickly. And there's so many different colors and patterns!!

For what it's worth, I wore these shoes too and found them on Amazon for super cheap! Pretty comfortable, true to size, and minimal rubbing!

I got a pair of these when I was in Hawaii (found them at a flea market) and expected them to be just sufficient for the beach. I still have them years later and they’re awesome: OOFOS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IA4XCU8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pUYLAbXRK42XD

u/ACoderGirl · 3 pointsr/SampleSize

The reason those places call them "sandals" is because flip flops are sandals! But "flip-flop" is such an informal sounding thing and you picked fancy sites.

Check more casual sites. Eg, here's something that looks kinda remotely in the same ballpark on Amazon - "Havaianas Women's Top Tiras Sandal Flip Flop".

They're called flip flops because the lack of support around the heel makes the sole flop around (and sound awful, haha). They only intersect in the sense that the set of all flip flops is a subset of the set of all sandals (which is a totally valid intersection, but also implies that all flip flops are sandals). As an aside, perhaps the strawpoll should have made the mathematical relationship something like F ⊂ S and S ⊄ F.

u/pandybabyy · 3 pointsr/FrugalFemaleFashion

These are the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn! It took me forever to find a pair that I could walks for miles in that didn't look like hiking sandals, but they were well worth the search. They're still going strong after a year of regular wear, and I can't say enough good things about them.

Mine were glittery block heels that were $30 at the time on Amazon. I didn’t want to spend a lot on something that would be very visible and they were really comfy!

u/secretfreakout · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I am not going to lie - the absolute best shoe for me in a 13-hour day 3 days a week for work are croc wedges. They last forever, they're comfortable as all get-out, and I swear I have them in 3 colors. I get them through Amazon. the black, the tan, and the blue/white stripe I own. I waited forever for the blue/white stripe to be on sale because they were WAY MORE than the black or tan! Seriously, check them out! I hear great things about their cute flats for work too, but the wedges don't tear up my feet and show off my nail polish.

Wedges!

/u/ambiegrace suggested these which are a lot cheaper than the leather version, but still authentic and comfy! I saw her comment after I ordered the ones in my link, but if those work out, I'm seriously contemplating another pair...

I love my birks. I have one pair of original ones and bought these a few weeks ago and absolutely love them! They're genuine birks, but are made of plastic and are super lightweight yet still supportive. Feels like you are walking on a yoga mat!! And they're like half the price of original ones!

I love how the Rio flats look, but unfortunately, that style rubs uncomfortably on my feet :(

I absolutely love the Huarache flat sandals and the Adrina II peep toe sandals. Unfortunately, both styles have been discontinued.

My everyday shoes are the Gianna flat and I really want to try the Sienna.

I think the dress is too flowy and feminine (beautiful btw) for the first pair. The second pair is ok. I'd avoid suede and look for thinner straps to match the aesthetic of the dress personally.

Lol you linked to a foam flip flop with plastic straps. I'm talking about leather sandals with heels. "Kinda in the same ballpark" 😂 right, dude.

They intersect. The fact that I posted a leather sandal and you responded with "definitely a flip flop" means you don't know what you're talking about, or that I'm correct in stating that there is intersect.

Regardless it's moot because the poll is now about arguing over semantics.
