I use these on my seatbelts, so does my mom. They're a lifesaver. I rented a car awhile back and forgot to take an extra seatbelt adjuster clip with me and it was T O R T U R E for those few days.

Yeah. I am pregnant with my second and a few weeks ago I went to the doc asking "wtf is this?!"
"Ohh, just vericose veins, they go away about 4 weeks post partum".
I had no idea. Apparently they make vagina holders for people that have them really bad. They crack me up. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00006D2R8/ref=pd_aw_sbs_1?pi=SL500_SS115

Sure! I have a couple, mostly because I just guessed my size and didn’t measure. It’s a good idea to measure, as it turns out.

I started wearing a clavicle support brace to force myself into better posture and it has worked great. I only wear it until it is uncomfortable (30-60 minutes at various times), but I've noticed even in 3 weeks my posture has improved. Wearing it while walking will help too because you can retrain your brain to walk properly. I can vouch for this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CMV3ATS

In general, if you can make changes to make sitting a luxury - you will reap the rewards. All of the soreness from standing or walking all day will eventually go away - and your default position will be standing/in motion. I've found I don't even like sitting on couches any longer - I just didn't realize that the human body prefers to be in motion - as a developer I thought "screens" and sitting was the norm.

Make sitting a special luxury and everything will change. Even if they won't give you a standing/walking desk - you can control your world once off work. Plus you can stand up at various times throughout the hour. Standing up on its own uses a lot of muscles as you work against gravity. Soon standing up will be easy - which makes mornings great.

The best change towards better posture for me was wearing the clavicle brace while walking on a treadmill at about 3mph (or outside works too) - trade your couch for a small slow treadmill and you'll find watching binge-watching shows to actually make you feel better - the hours fly by and when you walk out into the real world - you find yourself more in control of your body.

Just give it a few weeks and you'll find yourself standing better, walking better - and most importantly feeling better.

Just some thoughts based on my own experiences this past month.

Also: For the first few days - changing posture required me to keep my central core pretty much flexed while standing or in motion - but after a few weeks those muscles get used to it. If you feel uncomfortable with proper posture it will slowly become the norm. After a while, you can tell when you're slouching because it becomes the less-comfortable position. And my stress moved from my shoulders to my core - which seems more capable of handling stress than my neck and shoulders.

I've been browsing through Amazon for posture corrector braces to wear under my regular clothes, but none of them seem to have any stellar reviews. This is the best one I've seen so far, does anyone have a recommendation?

u/CritterTeacher · 3 pointsr/ehlersdanlos

I found this awesome shoulder brace on amazon. It works really well and has a built in pouch for an ice pack. I usually wear it with a stick on heating patch with the brace over a T-shirt. I can’t say enough how much it love it!

This Clavicle brace cured me of severe neck pain from hours of hunched LSAT studying. Also, it certainly pulls your shoulders back--improving posture. I'm 5'11, got the medium.

First I would suggest you see an eye doctor - you may be leaning in because you aren't seeing well. Next up - something like [this] (https://smile.amazon.com/Posture-Corrector-Clavicle-Support-Improved/dp/B071JB3BV3/ref=sr_1_6_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1503076879&sr=1-6&keywords=posture+corrector+for+men) - I broke my collar bone in elementary school - it wasn't compound so they just put a brace on me and pulled my shoulders back. I had fantastic posture for years afterward. What they put me in is similar to what is linked above.

The eyesight thing though - that's pretty important. I realized I was old enough for readers because my neck kept hurting. I started paying attention to when I was doing the weird thing with my neck and it was when I was working and/or gaming, I was jutting my head forward because I was having a hard time seeing detail on the monitor. Yay glasses! =)

This is the one I have! I love it and I even got my cousin to get the same one. It’s reversible too which is nice.

brace

u/NinjaChemist · 2 pointsr/bjj

This is what I used

When you sprain your AC joint, you don't need support as much as you want compression on the joint, which these type of braces offers.

I don't know if you've ever tried a brace, but I use this one a few times a week, especially if I'll be up walking around. For when it feels like I want to cut my arm off, I use the wedge pillow part of this one to give supportive rest. I tried the sling part, but it didn't do much for me (or maybe I never got it adjusted right?). The pillow part might be available seperately.

Have her check out /r/abrathatfits for proper fitting bras and spending the money on them.

Strength training to help build up her supporting back/shoulder muscles could help. Posture braces may also help to keep her posture good and build up those support muscles.

I don't have any bra advice but I have back pain experience so I thought I'd share. Please pm me if you want to talk or have any questions.

I've just done a bit of research into t7 t8 discectomy and I had no idea it could be such a tough op. I had a discectomy at l5 s1 and I've learnt a lot about the back as a result. I have scoliosis with the turning point being t7 t8 so I get some pain from wearing a bra but luckily I'm not busty so I go without as much as possible.

I take msm which is a supplement but works as an anti inflammatory on different pathways to nsaids and paracetamol. Msm also helps replace collagen which I think helped what was left of my disc. Take it with vit c and slowly increase your dose. Use the crystals if possible or powder but I found tablets weren't as useful.

I used to get horse chestnut patches from the Chinese herb places which is another anti inflammatory. They work for a couple of days but I needed a break then for a day or 2 and then they work again.

Looking at your photos it looks like your shoulders are rounding in. Maybe something like this Posture Brace | Posturific Brace (Small, Beige) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DP589SW/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_cb4QwbKVAQA0F would help? (sorry, I'm completely ignorant on how to fotmat)

I met a guy who had his discectomy in Poland and it was very cheap. He was back to work as a tree surgeon with only 3 months downtime! I'm wondering if travelling for a breast reduction would be helpful? Looking on skiplagged you can get a return ny to Warsaw for $425.

I have some idea of the pain you're in and my heart goes out to you. I hope you can find some relief.

I've had posture issues before. Has anyone used anything like this for support? I thought it would help improve my posture while I'm sitting at a desk for extended periods.

If your posture is in your upper back and shoulders I would suggest buying a brace to wear around the house, in addition to working on your abdominal strength and neck flexibility.

My little sister bought this one: http://amzn.com/B0019SQWWC
It worked well for her because she is quite small. But there are cheaper ones as well.

u/danelhombre19 · 1 pointr/GoalKeepers

Same here bro. I bought a brace, and that helped me keep my shoulder (and mind) in place. It gives me a sense of security wearing this to my games. Best of luck!

Good Brace that I use:

You might've over-compensated, pushed your shoulders back too far, since I'm assuming it's not something you currently do naturally and thus don't know what exactly might be a correct posture. There's handy little braces you can wear that help correct your posture over time. I'm actually thinking about getting one since I'm hunched over a screen for hours at a time at work.

Something like this

u/ambiguousaffect · 1 pointr/ehlersdanlos

I’m currently trying Spartan brand tape. So far, it sticks really well.

I haven’t tried this trick but an EDSer told my geneticist that they paint a thin layer of pepto on their skin and let it dry before putting on tape and it helps protect their skin when they remove it. My skin gets a bit ripped up if I’m careless when removing tape, sometimes it doesn’t matter how careful I am. Putting coconut oil on the tape and waiting several minutes before removing it has helped when I’ve been particularly sensitive. If anyone has tried the pepto trick, I’m curious if it works without interfering with the adhesive.

I have bilateral multi directional instability (forward and down are worse than backwards) in my shoulders. PT, strengthening, and general positional awareness have helped for when I’m conscious but I sublux and dislocate in my sleep often. I just sent back a shoulder brace that looked promising but turned out to be entirely useless for what I needed. I’d like to try this brace by Bauerfeind but have to find out if my insurance would cover it. I’m wary of even going through the hassle of trying to find a braces that offer support without restricting all movement and are considered “durable medical equipment.” My PT thinks something designed for posture correction might possibly be helpful, so that’s the next plan. I need something that pulls my shoulders back into the sockets and prevents my scapulas from winging.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edited to add links. Also, a shoulder surgeon told me to try a sully brace for my shoulders but boobs.

I talked to my Dr about this last week. She recommended this supporter. I haven't tried it yet.

Hope you get some relief!

I've got terrible posture from years of hunching over trying to hide my breasts in baggy shirts. I've got fibromyalgia now, and that coupled with my poor posture is wreaking havoc on my back. I recently bought this and much to my skeptical surprise, for the week I wore it before I went into a flare, it actually helped. It's not super comfortable, but it's also not torturously uncomfortable, and I do have to wear a shirt under it, which is kind of a pain in the ass, but still. I don't want to be that little old hunchbacked lady you try not to stare at in the doctor's office, you know? A tip on sizing; I am a small-boned girl, 5'4" 132lbs and the medium juuust fits me around the chest. Just thought I'd throw that out there it case it might be helpful to you.

u/EpicLevelWizard · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

XY chromosome here, so I don't know how your particular pain feels but as someone who has severely injured his back and abdominal muscles weightlifting I have experienced horrible pain in the same body region. A hot/cold compression sleeve might work wonders for you especially if the pain in is the lower back & abdominal region specifically, and based on massages I've given to female companions in similar pain I would assume so. Here's a link to the product, if that's not allowed someone lmk.

I'm 33 weeks with #2 and I've been experiencing this! My midwife recommended getting a V2 supporter. It has seriously been a game changer. This is the one I use. Also, try to stay cool and dry, so a lot of airing out and icing if possible.
