Not the exact same one, but I have this one and it’s pretty great.

u/ihaveplansthatday · 21 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Penguin onesie - $55.89 and she promises a terrible dancing video if she gets it.

Calligraphy kit - $33.99

Penguin-opoly - $24.99

Poster - $19.99

There's $20 leftover for the small things on her list. I thought the necklace would work but it goes over with S/H. gah.

Edit: She commented that she wants this book which we could add onto these items.

I believe it is this one:
https://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Two-Sided-Map-24-32/dp/B000MV44UE/
It's apparently double-sided (and quite expensive)

u/Nuranon · 8 pointsr/travel

Search for world map posters (on amazon or so) and then get a nice frame (depending on the map the frame will be more expensive). The standard poster size is 61cm x 91.5cm.

This is a good example (Amazon US, you can see a bit more on the customer pictures). 10-15$ seems to be what most posters (and I assume) of those dimensions and quality cost.

Or if you are willing to spend a bit more for something a bit nicer and possibly bigger then you might wanna look into National Geographic's World Maps although I have honestly just assume those are nicer, NG is known for their great maps but I its also owned by 21st Century Fox/Murdoch, so no clue if quality is still what it used to be.

I already got the map. The problem is framing something this big. It's hundreds of dollars and a hassle. I decided to learn to make frames myself so that's a project I'm undertaking before the map goes up. Going to do this:

There is also the Climb On Map that will make getting to the walls much easier and faster.

I have this up in my uni room its very nice:
World Executive, Poster Size, tubed : Wall Maps World (National Geographic Reference Map) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1597752088/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_pD0oybFCH7259

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PCTHD69/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_HUbTCb7E63T4Z

Looks pricey but this may be what you’re looking for

Thanks for the love, guys! Glad you enjoyed it as much as my boyfriend did, and I did making it. Here is a breakdown of the cost if anyone is interested.

  • Un-Laminated Map $13
  • Laminated Map $20 (seems to be on sale now, of course -_-)
  • Frame $18 (was half off at Joann's Fabric)
  • Mod Podge $10 (didn't use, will probably return)
  • Mod Podge brush $3 (again, didn't use)
  • Glue Stick and X-acto knife I already had
  • I was lucky enough to be able to use my mom's high quality photo printer and photo paper, supplies she already had, but I imagine using Walgreens or Office Depot to print pictures would only be a few bucks depending on size.

This project did take a couple of hours, between going through and picking out the pictures, measuring, cutting, etc. I just threw on some HGTV and chugged along! It really didn't seem like a hassle of a project since I enjoyed what I was doing and knew my boyfriend would appreciate it. Was well worth it!

PS props to /u/vulgo for helping Photoshop the Florida pic!

I'm planning on building a massive version of this myself. Has anyone done this? It seems like it is going to cost me a >$100. http://www.amazon.com/48x78-World-Classic-Premier-Poster/dp/B00M8IHRJ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417748380&sr=8-1&keywords=large+world+map + a poster board backing.

u/urban_ · 3 pointsr/travel

Yep! Just went back to my Amazon history, here is the link to the map: World Executive Poster Sized Wall Map (Tubed, World Map). I absolutely love it. I paired it up a rustic, smooth grain frame, similar to this one (but in a 3x4).

I believe it's this:

Laminated World Map Vintage Style Poster Print, Double Sided Laminate, Size 36 X 24 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00V6FW0TC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_LAqVzb3TRRBCG

I have found you awesome birthday gifts!

Here they are:

u/russkigirl · 2 pointsr/travel

Just look for posters on amazon, there are a ton. I think this map is similar to the one my parents got for themselves, me and my sister to mark where we've traveled together and apart.

u/homemadecheese · 2 pointsr/travel

go for it! I used this map; it's 24"x36" but they have larger sizes too. And if you're only interested in Europe, they have a Europe specific map. I would watch a few videos about modge podge if you haven't done it before because it can get messy, especially when dealing with larger prints. Also, make sure your cork board isn't too thick for the frame; I think I used 1/4" thick cork board. This was the original inspiration for my map

Here's a link to a map of Grand Theft Auto 5 in poster form. This is the only one I could find.

u/ggchappell · 2 pointsr/pics

You can own a copy of the map. (I'm not sure what you mean by "large".)

There are also similar National Geographic maps of the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and the Arctic Ocean.

And there is one of the whole world.

u/PrincessHeidi · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Believe it or not this map has Australia on it!

Oh, and if you also weren't aware, /u/nacho_cheezus is the sexiest mod ever...apologies /u/thesmy

u/MethodicallyMediocre · 1 pointr/Maps

I have a world map that I bought at Walmart wayyy back. Looks great. Has all the large and fair sized cities on it and an old fashioned "weathered" colour to it. Very closely related to this one.

u/WorldMapsOnline · 1 pointr/Maps

No problem! I've never handled these maps, but they're among Amazon's top selling maps, and for $30 you get world and US, laminated. If you're ever in need of a 'nice' or gigantic map please reach out to us!

u/McGooForty2 · 1 pointr/Austin

I'll ask my friend where she got mine.

Amazon Link to a 24x34 print. Can't speak for the quality, though. You might have better luck going through the university. I updated my original comments with a couple links.

A bit more expensive, but so worth it if you travel

I have one of these in my kitchen and it's a great conversation piece, and super satisfying scratching off a new country every time you travel!

Up up and away

u/iakiak · 1 pointr/GiftIdeas

Theres a poster version and a travel version - tbh the travel one is pretty big anyway!
I've brought these as gifts before and was pleased - I always added a nice coin.

I used to have this one in my bedroom. It's not massive but it looks really cool (Especially the old looking side.

I guarantee you that there is at least one German penguin living somewhere underneath these scratchings. ;)

Oh, and for the record, my nickname has been Penguin since I was a kid and I do have German heritage. So, there's that. haha!

Ich liebe Pinguine.

u/GeneralTeddy · 1 pointr/wow

Pretty sure this was released by Brady games, maybe with a strategy guide? If you flip it over do you see the other image on this page? See also http://www.insidemacgames.com/news/story.php?ArticleID=13575.

I'd really like to get one of these myself but a hundred bucks is pretty steep for a poster. Wish Blizzard would release a new one.

FYI, El Paso ain't a coastal city. It's like if you think of everything a coastal is and then think of the exact opposite, that's El Paso. Well except sand. Tons of sand.
Are you using something like this to map out where the oceans are?
