Get some of these NUUN electrolyte tablets. Proper hydration will go a long way to keep you energized late into the evening. Also, they make kinds that have a small amount of caffeine (about 40 mg) if you want a little extra boost. https://www.amazon.com/Nuun-Hydration-Electrolyte-Essential-Electrolytes/dp/B019GU4ILQ?th=1

I buy these nuun tablets which are for rehydration. It's just electrolytes and it's sweetened with stevia and like 1 gram of sugar. It's a little on the expensive side but they're easy, have good ingredients and honestly taste really good. Just make sure you get the new formula, cause the old formula which they still sell has artificial ingredients. You should also put concentrace (trace minerals) in all your water. One bottle of that will last a very long time.

Also there's medication you can take to increase blood volume if you need to do that. Of course you have to do that with a doctor.

Hungry Jack and Golden Grill, as quick examples off the top of my head, use sodium bisulfite and BHT to preserve color and prevent oxidation.

Some practical advice to using these in the kitchen:

Sodium bisulfite is easy to find (it's used to keep dried fruit from browning and in winemaking) and usually recipes call for an ounce for every 15lbs of potatoes used in the recipe but you can experiment to find the sweet spot pretty easily. Broadliners usually carry it under additives/preservatives or you can get it bulk from restaurant supply places really cheaply.

BHT is not thermally stable, it's used in dried potato flakes and other products so it remains the same in the box for decades. It has the least thermal resistance among synthetic antioxidants and has also been getting some bad press or bans in some countries. It's harder to source and you'd use 0.5g or less (I think the FDA limit is 0.02% by weight) in your 10lbs of potato recipe, probably mixing it into the milk thoroughly.

I'm a pain in the ass and insist on buying healthy shit. I think my parents and grandparents find it amusing.

Hydration tablets.

Salt. Or salt.

Chia seeds.

Coconut butter.

Healthy snacks.

Also they are brilliant for hangovers if you our a shit ton in some water. Here's the link.

Electrolytes are not cheap. But I don't care as hydration is important. I just tell myself, that it's still about as expensive as a soda.

If I'm just sitting around, I'll drink Ultima as it has zero carbs and tastes great.

If I'm about to workout, I'll do Liquid IV Hydration Multiplier, as it has about 11-12grams of carbs and you cook that off easily during a workout.

Recently picked up Bodytech Electrolyte Fizz for pre/during workouts. It's the cheapest I've found and is pretty weak on flavor. You get a lot of servings for the money, but I feel like using two or three rather than one just to up the flavor.
https://www.amazon.com/BodyTech-Electrolyte-Fizz-Grape-Packets/dp/B015TBZQOO/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1521496507&sr=1-1&keywords=bodytech+electrolyte+fizz

Nunn Tubes are good, but they turn into a gut bomb of carbonation if you are trying to exercise and use them.

Since I am an athlete, I run TKD and can easily burn off 75 grams of carbs during a workout and be right back in ketosis. But if you are sedentary, struggle to keep your carbs down, and counting every single gram, the Ultima is by far the best I've tried.

They're 1-calorie hydration tablets for running. If you're low on water, they really help. https://www.amazon.com/Nuun-Hydration-Electrolyte-Essential-Electrolytes/dp/B019GU4ILQ

Change your locks, call a locksmith today. Or, DIY. I don't know how good you are with tools.

My favorite sugar-free electrolyte caplets! They're a tad pricey but ok for what you get IMO, they always save my ass from hangovers.

And thank frick blow is keto or I'd be in deep waters :)

Electrolyte Supplement Drops for Water - Rapid Hydration for Keto Flu, Hangovers, Low-Carb, Leg Cramps & Drinks - NO Calories NO Sugar - 40 Servings - Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium & Zinc - Made in USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079S9QN6S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_fc2sDb412YC50

This is what I use. Zero sugar, you can control how many drops you put in, you can put it in whatever drink you want, easily portable. I put 20 drops into 17 ounces of water twice a day, and one bottle lasts me about a month. You can taste it somewhat in plain water, but you can always use fewer drops more times a day, and you really get used to the taste.

Fellow potsie here! I bought thermotabs off Amazon. They have potassium in them as well, which were easier on my stomach than just salt. I paid $15.78 for two bottles, 100 tablets each. My doc advised 5000mg a day, so at ten tablets it’s roughly 78¢ per day.

Thermotabs

I use a dash of this in a tall glass of water with some ibuprofen.

Works wonders.

I'm taking 3mg of Boron, which equals about 25-30mg of Sodium Tetraborate. No side effects for me.

I'm using this one:

Correction - 25 migraine days a month :). One migraine typically lasts 2-4 days. I’ve done everything possible to just function (dry needling, cranial massage, RFA, botox/myobloc injections, etc). Keto and IF have literally been a lifesaver for me.

I use this in my water (just a little squirt once or twice a day):

Electrolyte Concentrate for Rapid... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079S9QN6S?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

And these are the salt tabs I take - typically one pill twice a day:

Electrolyte Salts Rapid Oral... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N1P1ODD?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I think cutting out everything processed has been huge for me. Most of my migraines start around my occipital nerves, but something about this WOE has really helped.

There are some groups called “Keto for Neuro” or “K4N” that may be helpful if you’re interested in looking into it.

Good luck!!

I just jumped into a 3 day fast my first time hearing about it from friends who were fasting. First one was the hardest, had headaches the 2nd and 3rd day, then I got an electrolyte supplement to add to my water and after that the headaches disappeared. Each fast has been easier than the one before.

This is the electrolyte solution I add to water:

Stop exercising if it's giving you headaches.

Exercise really doesn't help much with fat loss anyway. Also if you are sweating a lot and replenish with just water you probably need electrolytes. I used Nuun Hydration Electrolyte Drink Tablets

https://www.amazon.com/Nuun-Hydration-Electrolyte-Tablets-Citrus/dp/B019GU4ILQ/ref=sr_1_7_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1498683350&sr=8-7&keywords=electrolytes&th=1

Use the myfitnesspal app and enter anything that you consume, even if it's a really small quantity. Food and drinks. Make sure you are entering the serving size you actually consume. Some labels can be tricky. I was eating pickles the other day and one serving as 3/4 of a pickle. Who is going to cut up a pickle and put 1/4 back? Stuff like that is common though.

Eat less carbs and more fat and protein.

If you don't want to do keto just limiting carbs to 100 is a huge improvement for most people.

I love the Tropical and Watermelon flavors, but I prefer the pure electrolytes without all the vitamins added

u/missioncaprisun · 1 pointr/Dietandhealth

Agreed!! You can add sodium to your water. I also use Nuun tablets for a bit of flavor to get my electrolytes in for the day.

u/ThatGuyinHouston · 1 pointr/bicycling

Hmmm. I have a bunch of the Nuun tablets and start my rides with both bottles having a tablet in them, with water & ice. They're highly recommended, but I still get leg issues.

I'll give the BPI BCAA a try!

u/SweetnSaltyAlmond · 1 pointr/fasting

Does anyone know if using these will break a water only fast?

14 calories per tab of 16ml water is what I see... please let me know! Autophagy more important to me than ketosis...

Currently, I'm using this: Best Naturals Magnesium Chloride 520 mg 120 Tablets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G2LDQQ0?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I do take up to like six per day. It says on the label how much is absorbed. I've heard good things about natural calm as well, though I've never used it myself.

I'm currently taking salt and electrolyte tabs as well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E4MHQ0M?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
