Possibly not the most helpful suggestion as we're heading into winter but I run a lot in combo shorts I wear briefs underneath them, but they also work commando.

With regards to leggings, try something with a drawstring so you can keep them over your hips. I don't know how attached you are to your boyshort undies, but I can't wear these for any workouts, largely due to the issues you are having. Would you consider briefs just for exercise?

I've been wearing these for working out. At $15 it's hard to beat the price. They are not compression shorts, but I've had not had any issues with them riding up. I wear them for both lifting and running.

Good to hear that! Any recommendations for lower-priced shorts? I've got my eye on these / two, hoping they can keep my big butt covered without going halfway down my leg (I hate that so much it's SO uncomfortable), but I have no clue.

The very best thing is when the local track club puts on a fatass race, 40 people show up, and everyone stays to cheer for everyone. No one gets a t-shirt but everyone brings a couple bucks toward the snack spread.

The next best things? A cotton race shirt and a finish line beer.

A list of places in town you can bring your race bib and get a discount or small freebie. A local bar does bogo pints for certain races and a bakery gives you a free donut. Once I got free admission to a museum in Kansas City.

Other things:

I got a tech material beanie from a local race. It would be perfect for running if it had a ponytail slit and sometimes I wear it under my bike helmet.

Pint glasses are ok. I have a few from races and I don't need any more. I don't even use the ones I have. Wine glasses are too difficult to get home on a plane.

I got a medallion keychain from a marathon. They forgot to put them in the goody bags so they mailed them out weeks later. I still use it for my spare car key.

I like the idea of shorts but instead of running shorts (which I am picky about), those mesh-like ones from elementary gym class. Like these: http://www.amazon.com/Champion-7791-Womens-Mesh-Short/dp/B00AHS6CTS

For about a year it seemed like every local race around here gave finishers water bottles like these: http://www.customink.com/mms/images/catalog/styles/164200/catalog_detail_image_large.jpg
By the end of the year, I thought I never wanted to see another one. Now, 5 years later, I've lost or damaged all of them and could use more.

Do not need:

Tech t-shirts, low quality koozies, coupons for chiropractors and such in a town I'll never visit again (but maybe this is cool for locals at big races), cinch-string backpacks.

No problem! If you get them, I hope you enjoy them. Also, this is the link to the shorts on Amazon.

Man I hope one day I can rock the 3 inch inseam but that day is not today 😝I own like 8 pairs of Champion 7-inch inseam bike shorts for running because humidity plus thunder thighs equals danger will robinson. Open to any other chub-rub-mitigating shorts though.

I also am obsessed with my spibelt athletic fanny pack for runs or just General anytime activities. Girl pockets ain't shit and I'm not a purse person...

They have shorts with the spandex lining it. They usually look hideous, and the curve-showing spandex is definitely a lot better.

However, I would be a lot happier if I could find some bibs in colors other than black, white, or some hideous 'manly' design that some idiot thought was good. Preferably something gaudy like these.

Sounds like you just need some shorts that don't ride up. I have these and I really love them. I went by hip measurement and ordered one size up. They are perfect. I love the length and they stay in place. They are not really bike shorts (no padded butt). They are unbelievably comfortable and cool.

I was worried about those issues too - and it's actually fine. Like, even in the summer in 80 degree heat ... fine. Treadmill? fine.

I run in either compression shorts (under my skirts) or Lululemon Wunder Under tights/capris (spendy, but totally worth it). I don't feel like there's added moisture down there - it's actually better (I think) because the fabric the pants/shorts are made of are made to be sweat/moisture wicking so it's a more efficient...experience.

No camel toe unless I hitch them up too high, and ZERO chafing. ZERO. Nada.

Try the type of activewear leggings/shorts that have the specific phone-sized pocket on the thigh, like this.

u/vegetablesactivated · 1 pointr/xxfitness

I have several pairs of the shorter version for cardio and I love them for cheap workout gear.
