Best stuffed animals & plush toys according to redditors

There's a lot of factors in play with the cost. First is that a lot of furries work in IT and make a lot of money. Second is that the furry fandom very strongly believes in paying artists a fair wage. A plushie at Target could be sold for $15, but it was made in a factory in China by people who are paid pennies per hour. The plush that was lost was a one-of-a-kind item, no doubt hand-sewn, and probably took special designing to translate a fursuit design into a small plush. Factor in materials and time spent making it, and that jacks the price up further. Compare to very high-quality plush toys carried by retailers and $300 is pretty industry standard. Here's a moose plush that's over $100. And here's a giraffe that's over $1000.

As an artist myself, I love furries. I know a lot of friends who are able to pay rent making art because furries are so good to the artist community.

Yeah... Assuming an average balloon angle of 45 degrees... I'm getting 0.7 the lift... So... 42 balloons ? Shoot I'm getting close to my limit...

And also helium balloons leak... So by the time I finish blowing them all, I have less than the 54 balloons...

Also do you know how much volume 42 balloons take ? Assuming like 6 balloons per layer that's 7 11 inch balloons in height... Which is about my 8 foot ceiling... So now I have height restrictions.

In the end I gave up and resorted to flying another smaller stuffed animal.

Tl;dr they either gutted that appa. Or they just threw it in the air and caught the photo at the right time, cause I tried this. Also don't do napkin math at work and then impulse buy. Do your math, double check it and have a friend tell you you're not stupid first.

I never thought I'd own one, but then I had a horrifying knee surgery that caused me a lot of pain that flared to intense levels the first few weeks I was of recovery. My wife gave me a stuffed Appa. It's full scale with actual metal. (I think?). You most likely won't find much, since portal isn't as popular as other series, and most costumes/items are pretty expensive. You could probably get a companion cube for 20-40 bucks, though.

This has been my cuddle buddy. It is big enough that if you hold it from the front the forepaws can wrap around your neck/shoulders and is really comforting. Sorta big enough to be big spoon in bed too.

I'd put more time between exercise and bed. Also try with a weighted blanket. Personally I sleep better with a wider/harder pillow and this plushie (it may be too big for you son though), and I always wanted to try a weighted blanket.

Get one of these, or another stuffed animal that size. I don't care if it's childish, cuddling that thing makes me calmer and makes it easier to sleep.

I got this one on amazon. There are quite a few choices. I went with that one because of the size, 30", and cost, total $46. The head sags a bit, but it's very cuddlable and soft!

There is a 30" Appa Plush available for purchase both on the Nickelodeon Universe website and on Amazon.com for the same price ($39.99).

The originally cheaper (and I believe more popular) 18"/20" (depending on the website) Appa plush, which originally was listed as being available for $18.99, $19.99, or $24.99 on the Nickelodeon Universe website, is now only available on amazon.com for $59.99. Edit: The 20" Appa can also be found on the nick shop website but for $59.99.

I hope that NickU brings the 20" Appa back (again) because the way they described it made it sound like their most popular item. And as much as I want one, I'm not willingly to shell out $60 when it'd be cheaper to get the larger one.

I feel there should have been more emphasis on the lower portion of the teddy bear.....
