It looks like you've already gotten a lot of great advice on fit, so I won't waste time beating a dead horse (save to say that checking that your butt looks good, which is a gender-neutral value judgment, is the quickest way to tell whether pants are going to work for you). However, I do want to second the sentiment that a belt would be a great quick way to step it up a notch! I buy men's belts at Target - they're pretty cheap and come in a range of no-judgment sizes.
I am also a fan of blazers but they're a bit much for my current workplace. Have you considered cardigans for layering? I dig the drapey style but you may also like bulkier grandpa knits.

The pattern on his sweatervest is called "Argyle" so if you search "Argyle sweatervest" you'll get results. Go to any department store that has a men section and you'll probably find one. Argyle is a popular style for casual-formal mens clothing, or at least it was when I worked in various department stores when I was a teenager.
