I also got this Zojirushi travel mug for my birthday. This thing is great. It'll stay piping hot all day, and most times I need to unscrew the lid and let it cool for awhile before I'm actually able to drink from it.
I'm very happy with my Zojirushi. Can't use a straw, but I've never had trouble with ice cubes. And it's insulated like a mofo, ice cubes stay solid overnight.

Be aware that BPA-free plastics often contain other endocrine disrupters, sometimes even worse than BPA. Your best bet is to go with one that is uncoated metal (I believe many of them coat the inside with plastic to prevent the metal from reacting with the contents and producing an odd taste).

Zojirushi has some of the best travel mugs period. Mine will keep my coffee hot all day and if I forget to drink it (rare) it will still be hot the next morning. Disassembles easily for thorough cleaning and comes in a variety of sizes and colors! It also fits perfectly in any cup holder because it's slim design and can easily be operated with one hand while driving.
Be careful about Stanley mugs, some reviews say the quality has dropped.

Maybe look into getting a bento box set? I have this one and it will keep your food hot or cold until lunchtime with no problem. It's the size of a big soup thermos and it's super handy.
Grandad almost certainly would have had a Stanley Vacuum Bottle. As /u/capolan notes, it would have been glass lined while today's are stainless steel, but they're otherwise pretty much unchanged from 75 years ago.

Only issue I have with Mr. Bento (and the smaller Mrs. Bento) is that I have issues figuring out what to use it with.
I picked up a Thermos Food Jar for one dish lunches. Works well for noodle or fried rice based dishes.
Get a food thermo ($13 on amazon), heat food at home and eat it hot/warm at lunch.
You might try using a thermos. It can make staying on a decent diet pretty convenient. I find I can cook in the morning, fill a 24 ounce thermos with the remaining bits, and have much less trouble maintaining a healthy diet. I like doing soups, but pretty much anything stays hot in it for 14+hours.

I find that two smaller high quality thermoses work better than one large one. When a large one is half full, it seems to lose heat more quickly. I’ve found the Zojirushi insulated bottles to be amazing, and I prefer the 12 oz size, though the larger ones are great as well.

I've used a thermos before. The only problem is that too hot coffee stays too hot for too long. Once it reaches the right temperature, it'll hold for long enough, but a burnt tongue squanders all that.
Honestly, it'll taste fine. I wouldn't worry too much about degradation. Most coffee shops have pre-made coffee sitting in urns for hours (the name of the one we use where I work is escaping me). Coffee'll stay hot for quite some time, and any impact on taste is minimal.
I have the Zojirushi SM-KHE48BA. It might be a good idea to pair it with a little mug. The spout area on mine is pretty dirty, and none of my attempts at cleaning it have worked out.

Zojirushi, hands down. I've had this one for two and a half years now, and it's just as good as the day I got it.
What's more, they sell replacement parts - the whole lid, the mouthpiece, all the seals & o-rings... You can get an entire rebuild kit for around ten or twelve bucks.

My wife got one of these thermoses. Comes with a folding spoon inside the cap and keeps whatever's inside hot for hours.
When we use it, we'll do things like curries (indian/thai/japanese) or soups, and then she'll bring a small tupperware of rice or some bread. Also good for soups, fried rice, porridge, really anything that needs to be kept hot, but it works best for saucy items. One thing I've wanted to try but haven't is something like a tupperware of cold pasta and cheese, and fill up this thing with hot spaghetti sauce and meatballs.
Another option for a "nicer" but less flexible system would be a bento box thermos like this one. What I don't like about these is that they're meant to be used in a specific way; i.e. a hot soup/sauce, a warm side (typically starch like pasta or rice), and a cold salad. It basically slowly leaks heat everywhere, and I prefer to have one really hot dish, and will just deal with having a cold starch if needed.

It was much more expensive back when I bought it. Nearly 50 dollars. It really will keep your liquids hot for 5+ hours. If I fill this thing with hot tea/coffee immediately after brewed, the liquid will stay too hot too drink for 2 or 3 hours. It's ridiculous.
The only downside is the lid is a bitch to clean. It breaks down into way too many small and confusing parts.

Zojirushi is a fantastic brand as far as insulated bottles and jars go. They are pricier than Thermos brand but worth the added cost. That being said Thermos makes a damn good product.

Which is why you always: a) drink beer from cans, not bottles; and b) always put the can in a koozie.
I've had Myrtle Beach cops look dead at me while drinking a PBR in a koozie on the beach... and I think they appreciate me giving them the option of looking the other way.
Also, you shouldn't drink beer outta bottles on the beach anyway, ('cos glass), and a nice koozie will keep your beer colder in the sun much longer than one without.
You might want to ask around various cooking/baking forums before asking for a bread maker. It seems they get heavy usage for the first 3-6 months, or sometimes even the first year and then enthusiasm for them wanes. I know mine hasn't been used in 6-7 years. Once I learned how to make no-knead bread, there was no knead. (yuk-yuk) I'd give you this one if I had reason to think that you were near enough to make that easy.
If you don't already have them a slow cooker, a dutch oven or a good stock pot can save you money if you cook in batches to make many meals for the week. And like daily_bagel said, a good Nissan thermos can save you lots of money if you brew your own coffee or tea and don't buy out.

I have one of these and it will probably be the last mug I ever buy. Its very well designed! Doesn't leak, easy to clean, keeps coffee hot for a long time.
There is a "slicksteel" version that has a polished stainless interior and a nonstick version (sm-kb).
Stainless steel and vacuum insulation should make for a good product. But it is kind of hard to see how the mouth piece works... I would probably go with a tried and true Zojirushi unless you really need the extra capacity.
SM-KA48 model is out of production. Look for SM-KHE48 or SM-KB48 (should be around $27 and $31 respectively). Those are the more recent models.
SM-KB48 is the newest with the only difference being it has a different (don't know if "better") type of non-stick coating on the inside of the mug.

I got so used to drinking ice water (no longer room temp like a plebeian) and the ergonomics are unparalleled in this bottle. The ease of the pour spout makes it effortless to sip and work on something else, or tilt it in bed without spilling, not to mentions makes sharing easier since the pour is so good you don’t have to touch it to your mouth! Also if you forget to drink enough water one day, don’t worry, water will still be cold. It holds ice cubes for over 24 hours (meaning ice in water holds solid form for HOURS).

The other trick I did at my last job was to get up and refill my bottle once every hour. It would make me race the clock to do a certain task or amount of work before getting up to pee and refill it again.
Because if I was drinking a bottle an hour and getting up every time, I had to pee every hour... which meant phone games and reddit every hour from 5-10 minutes an hour depending...
It made me a happier, faster worker, more hydrated, and I got paid an hour to pee EVERY day... (7 minutes to pee/refill every hour give or take extra pooping time X 7 work hours a day = 49 minutes).
It also helps you poop more if you drink more water and relax on the toilet. And I’d always say, save money on the toilet paper while also getting paid to shit!

Not sure exactly if this is what you're looking for, but this 16 oz. zojirushi mug is amazing and elegant. Literally keeps my coffee hot for 24 hours. I've never come across a better thermos.

I can give you some numbers on this. Before a getting a flask I had spent around $15/year on energy for boiling water for tea/coffee. With a thermos it was $5/year. This doesn't sound like much. Energy is cheap when civilization is functioning normally. But if you need to forage for wood every day or have limited propane stockpiles or only a couple of solar panels then it really makes a difference.

The stainless thermoses work pretty good. They'll easily keep a beverage hot for 12 hours. You are supposed to preheat the steel flasks but I will skip that because boiling water is too hot for tea. The water is cooled just enough to be right where I want it.
The stainless thermoses are much nicer to carry around in a backpack. I have several of them and recommend this model. Anything smaller than 3 cups is not worth bothering with.

A terrific option is a wide mouth thermos. You'd put hot food in it and it stays hot for up to 9 hours (it also says 12 hours to keep cold stuff cold).
That gives you tons of options for all kinds of things. I googled good recipe ideas for thermos and found a bunch of ideas.

Not OP but I had a similar problem this holiday as well. I bought my mother the highly rated (found it on Reddit's Buy it For Life Subreddit) Zojirushi mug and now they have to wait for the liquid to cool before pouring it into the mug or else it stays too hot

I'm a huuuuge fan of bento canisters like this and this. If you refrigerate containers overnight (or prime them with hot water before adding hot foods), they'll stay good for hours. Plus it's kind of comforting to have all your food sectioned out. :)
I think part of the issue here is you are having five or six coffees per day...That's pretty intense. Any reason in particular you have to swig so much?
Also, why not try black coffee? I hated it at first, but now I prefer it to anything else - I drink it daily. Yup, getting into my car in the morning can be intense. Often I have to use the passenger door to dump all my stuff before sitting in the driver's seat.

I just got a new one, I don't find the lid to be fussy or hard to clean at all. I use it and the one I had before it every single day.
Not sure if they make different ones for the US market but the Japanese model is the only ones I know. This is the one I'm referring to.
A mug by this company is ideal for soups, coffee, even stews if you bring a bowl to pour it in. I have had coffee scalding my mouth 14 hours later. I often have to open it, let the contents cool and then consume because it retains heat so well.

This is the best container. It won't even spill too much if the lid's left open, it locks and maintains a seal really well in a bag, and if anything it's too good at keeping your drink hot. Also it's solid construction, I've really been hard on mine over the past 3 years or so and it's still marvelous.

I've used many different ones including the Cointigos, Thermos and Zojirushis. I think it simply came down to this:
I work an office job and mostly drink my coffee in the AM, but might brew 3-4 cups to keep me going throughout the day. So I don't need the ultra high hours specified in some other products (20hrs hot! no no, I need maybe 5hrs-6hrs at most).
Contigo was pretty decent at this but I absolutly HATE the cleanup. Their on the go ones have sucha complicated spring system in the lid that if you leave coffee in there overnight it'll start to gunk everything up and it was a pain in the ass to clean everything 100%. I get grossed out if there's even a bit of residue left over. Zojirushi is similar, but much easier to clean and IMO if you need to drink on the go, then it is the best.
I actually daily my Thermos because it is stupid easy to clean. Bottle brush for the body, and just a regular sponge/pad for the lid. No complex openings/buttons/mechanism for gunk to build up in. It also keeps everything piping hot for 5+ hours and the built in cup is very good for coffee since you can actually smell the drink which IMO is an important part of the whole ordeal.

Big enough opening to put ice cubes in. If you put it near your food it will keep it cool for hours. In the middle of august if I didn't drink much I would still have ice in it 6 hours later. Of course if i drank it all in an hour the ice would be gone just as fast.

All the people I know who've owned glass tumblers have had them break. I'm usually very careful with my stuff, so I bought one too, but it broke within 6 months. It looked nice while it lasted, but what a waste of $25.
This one from Zojirushi is the best one on the market and a great example of Japanese engineering. They ripped off the design from Nissan, which at the time had the most well-designed tumbler on the market, but they made several modifications that made it even better. The older model maxes out at 16 oz, but the newer model comes in 20 oz. The newer model also has a high quality non-stick lining that should prevent any odors. Also, it's small enough to fit in a BMW cup holder.
They're a little expensive (around $32), but they last forever. My parents have used the older model daily for 3 years, and the mugs still look brand new.
The one I use personally is the Zojirushi 16oz insulated mug. This thing keeps your coffee hot for hours (I normally drink it when I get to the office after 45 mins and it's still hot)
The other one I'd recommend is the Klean Kanteen 20oz insulated which is almost as good. I used to have one but lost it a while back.
Either option would work well though...

Why: it has the best heat retention of the vacuum insulated mugs/flasks I’ve used. If you put hot coffee or water in it, it will still be hot after 7-8 hours. Now I don’t take that long to drink coffee. If I’m going fishing, it’s nice to put in in my travel mug, get out onto the water and it’s still too hot to drink. By then 3-4 hours might have elapsed.
The top is easy to drink out of and doesn’t burn your mouth like some other ones that don’t have a lid to drink through.
I bought one of these in white and I really couldn't ask for anything better. It's unbelievable how well it keeps things cold (or warm).

The interpretation of the law used to be that breweries could only fill growlers bought on site, but was clarified within the last couple years to allow for non-brewery/generic growler filling.
The only catch is that the growler can't have any other markings on it. I've got a couple of these, and had one place simply put tape over the logo, just to be safe. I've since replaced that with black electrical tape that stays on all the time.
Having said all of that, and while I haven't had issues at any of the bay area breweries, it's apparently still within the rights of the brewer to refuse filling growlers other than their own... I ran into this issue with Pizza Port, after leaving their growlers (I have two of those as well) back in SF, and instead tried to use my stainless ones.
I wish each brewery listed whether generic growlers were welcome or not. Might have to start a list, and try to persuade the ones who don't.

I have always loved my Zojirushi Stainless Steel Mug. Its easy to clean, has a locking lid so I can throw it in my bag for my morning commute, and the cap is spring loaded so I can open it with one hand.
My only complaint is that it keeps my coffee hot for too long. If you want to drink it right after you pour it in you better take off the cap and let it sit out for a few mins first.

If I'm doing a pour over or aeropress (anything where I'm using water right off the boil), my coffee will be too hot to drink for easily 12 hours. My regular drip coffee maker doesn't brew as hot; the Zojirushi keeps it hot but drinkable for 8-10 hours.

When I was a delivery driver I just used a Thermos Food Jar I’d make all the food on Sunday and instead of individual meal packs I’d scoop out todays meal warm it up and the thermos would keep it warm till lunch.
I would have to clean the thermos every night or morning, but I figured it was worthwhile vs eating fast food.
I have something similar to this for my own lunches and it works very well. It has an interior removable/washable divided compartment so you can store two types of food without them commingling. The only downside is that a four-year-old would definitely need a teacher to open it for him at lunchtime.

I'll agree with you on the light part, but a glass bottle most definitely keeps beer colder. Aluminum has a slightly higher specific heat, but the significantly higher mass of the glass bottle outweighs that.
I love me some cans though, get one of these Thermos beer coozies and it'll keep a can ice cold longer than it can stay carbonated. Life changing.

Zojirushi's Mr. Bento is pretty good, and has a container with a screw top lid that will even carry soup, no problems. The capacity is quite large and might be surplus to requirements, though. Zojirushi also makes a Ms. Bento has a similar arrangement that's smaller capacity.

I usually have some grapes or carrot sticks in the top compartment, leftovers in the middle, and the bottom is meant for soup but I usually just pack an additional side dish in there, like cucumber salad or cottage cheese. The little tote bag it comes with is great too, my water bottle fits perfectly in there, or you could stash a banana or a snack bar. Good luck!

I was lucky enough to score 2 of these at a garage sale (smaller sized) for $1 each! So check your local garage sales!
I use these for chili and soup. Put some cooked rice in regular tupperware. At lunch/dinner time. Just mix the rice w/ the hot chili/soup and you have a filling meal.
You don't need to spend that much on a backpack, an LL bean or jansport will cost less, last you well over 4 years, and are backed by solid warranties. Not saying that pack isn't nice, but with the budget you're working with I'd personally drop that one down a notch.
For coat I'd consider a nice arctic carhartt and maybe a cheap frog togg rain jacket you could toss on over it on a day you plan on getting wet for an extended period.
As far as long johns go, any will last you. Merino wool is a great material for these, but I have several fleece based solutions that are very warm and cost quite a bit less.

I've used the smaller 24 ounce model when I used to bring one bigger meal and drink it between breakfast/lunch. I would put a few cubes of ice and it would remain cool just fine, even on 100+ days. It helped to make sure it was left out of direct sunlight too.

I use this everyday, it's amazing to me. Keeps coffee hot for hours and makes an awesome "thuk" when you release the heat compression. 100% spillproof, with one small caveat. Sometimes a drop or two will stay past the seal point when you take a sip. Not a problem, just want to give you all sides. Super duper easy to clean as it divides totally down into component pieces so you can be a weekend warrior and pretend you're breaking down your rifle. There's an awesome indention all the way around that you can use to customize the mug. I wrapped mine with the guts from a piece of 550 cord and threw a S-biner on it and it looks awesome. I would very seriously consider weaving a friendship bracelet to wrap it up with, I like it so much.

I would recommend staying away from flip-top mugs, because as far as I've seen, they always leak. Sad but true. If you can find one that doesn't, then great.
I think the biggest thing to look for is the drinking mechanism. With the tiny sippy lid (like on the Contigo), you have to make sure the drink is the correct temperature, or it'll be too hot to drink. With those that expose the liquid to the surrounding air a little, you can sip more easily, but then it's harder to use on a bus or whatever. I think that's the biggest issue to worry about when searching.

As for aeropress and the one liter thermos, I use it everyday at uni! Electric kettle, two AP scoops of coffee and it comes out great, just fill the aeropress up to the top, press and pour into the thermos, then dilute to the top!
Random recommendations from a sophomore in college:
Adidas Shower Shoes - These things have been great. They dry nearly instantly and are adjustable.
Zojirushi Travel Mug - If you drink coffee and would like to have access to it throughout the day, this is by far the best travel mug (and has many recommendations here on BIFL).
Water pitcher - Assuming you will have a fridge (you might not), having access to cold water can be surprisingly convenient. Even if you don't have a fridge, if you don't have a sink, this will be a lot more convenient.
Towels - This is more of a personal preference. For me, department store-bought towels are too soft and absorbent. I found that mine never got totally dry, and replaced them with Turkish peshtemal towels (like these ones from Amazon)
Computer monitor - You will use this all four years, I guarantee it. If you get a big enough one, you can also use it as a TV when friends are over.
Laser printer - do NOT buy an inkjet. You will go crazy when it conveniently runs out of ink before your lab report is due. Brother makes good laser printers. Wireless is nice, but probably not a necessity.
Some kind of noise cancelling headphones - doesn't have to be active noise canceling. College dorms can be noisy. Having a good pair of over-the-ear headphones can be nice, even if you just listen to white noise to drown out your roommate.

I've been using my Zojirushi for the last few years. It keeps my coffee hot pretty much all day and can take a beating. It's fallen onto the road while biking a few times and only has a few scuffs and a small dent to show for it. Not only that, but Zojirushi sells replacement parts for their thermoses, including seals and mouthpieces in case you ever need them.
Also, you can get it in a 12oz size if you're sure that's all you'll need.

I tried a few different mugs before finally getting the Zojirushi Stainless Steel Mug when it was on sale. My biggest problem with Contigo and other leak proof mugs was the cleaning as well and the Zojirushi comes apart pretty easily for cleanup.
The only problem, if you consider this a problem, is that it keeps things very hot inside. Drinking hot coffee from the wide spout while moving can potentially cause you to spill on yourself which is why I've seen people recommend pouring the contents into a separate cup. I haven't had any issues with it but still just wanted to give a heads up.

To add on to this, if you're looking for a bigger one, I have had the Nissan Thermos 32 oz since 2007 and haven't had any problems. I've left hot liquids in it for over 24 hours and its contents still stay quite hot.

LL Bean Boots - (signature version, if you like canvas). Go down a full size for medium-weight socks, size and a half for wool socks, which you should have at least three pairs of. Darn Tough has a no bullshit lifetime warranty, so feel comfortable buying their stuff. Weatherproof a pair of Thorogoods if bean boots aren't your bag. Here's a plain toe version.

Keep an eye out for merino wool beanies, softer than a baby's ass.

I like this. Its a little on the expensive side, but it keeps my water cold for a really long time. This is my favorite design. It has a nicer o-ring and its good for hot beverages, too.

Just a PSA, I have a zojirushi that I bought amidst the hype, and it's great. I also have one of these that I got on sale a couple years for $16. It works just as well as the Zojirushi and at this point, has less scratching on it despite being older. I see this thermos on sale quite often (and most stores, when not on sale, sell it for about $25, which is about equal to the LOWEST the zojirushi has ever been).
I'm not saying the Zojirushi is over-hyped, because it absolutely lives up to expectations. The thing is, it's just an insulated thermos. There's no new space age technology inside or some high tech manufacturing process that makes it leagues better than competitors. It's just a solid thermos that (usually) costs way too much.
tl;dr- This is on sale, that's cool. Other products work just as well and generally cost less.
I think the best option is a Nissan Thermos travel mug. The second best option is a Contigo travel mug. The reason I like the Nissan more is because it keeps my beverages hotter for much longer, it is much easier to break all the way down (taking off rubber seals and whatnot), I like drinking out of it more and the overall construction seems a bit nicer. Many people will surely tout the Contigo. I have one and it does get used, but if I were to lose it I would replace it with another Nissan Thermos travel mug.

I've also got a lunch box set which has an insulated container for the main dish and two side cars that nestle against it for other dishes. Like this but mine is plain black.
A kinda pricey, but totally fun option would be to pick up a fancy bento box which can keep hot and cold items hot and cold for hours and hours even when packed together! Go full on Asian with rice, kimchi, veggies, and a miso soup!

I know I'm a little late to the party on this thread, but this bento lunch box (there's also a Mr. Bento which is one container bigger) is awesome. It's insulated, big enough to fit soup, a salad and some crackers cheese and meat or whatever else you choose. There are a lot of Flickr groups and websites that have bento lunch recipes and it eventually becomes fun to try and figure out what you'd like to make next.
Zojirushi Ms Bento is nice. The individual compartments are microwavable, and the thermos shell keeps it hot (or cold, if you do a cold bento).
This one is just amazing, the water is still warm after 24 hours. I use this for the picnic and the water burns me all the time.
And, get a smaller one for the milk, thermos keeps cold as well! I use it for ice in the summer time.

It has lasted through two years of college being tossed around and abused. The top had an insulated cap with a rubber seal so it can be juggled without spilling. Sometimes I would get coffee at 8am and forget to drink it, getting home at 7pm it would still be hot enough that I had to sip it. They have 16oz-40oz thermoses and shorter fatter containers for food. It is a double wall insulated container. I know the aluminum water bottles are popular now but they are too hot to hold with coffee and lose heat fast.

the iced ingenuitea makes just enough to still leave room for milk in the thermos, if he likes it in his tea. plus maybe get him a couple of sample sizes of tea to try, maybe cinnamon, candy cane, ect.
A pack stove is what you're looking for. They run on solid, liquid, or gas fuel and span a wide range of prices. Jetboil is a popular but pricey brand with many models. This means you will be carrying the stove, the fuel, and another container for the water.
If you're talking about a day hike then your best option is to get a good thermos just fill it up before you leave. It will be a lot less hassle, weigh less, and take up less space.

I can vouch for this one personally. Keeps beverages insanely hot/cold forever. Used to carry 40oz of coffee or tea with me when I would dive all day (hours on hours in 50˚F water for work) and it was a godsend. It used to be stanley that held the gold in the thermos market, but apparently their QC has gone way downhill.
I've seen my friends with the little thermos brand food containers, but they're a bit heavy. Especially if you're going to be nuking the food at work, then you don't need something that will retain heat. If you're a sandwich man, any grocery store will have light plastic tupperwares for that. Otherwise, keep a bowl at work and bring stuff in plastic. If you're worried about it getting squished, bring glass or get back racks on your bicycle to increase storage space.
A Thermos brand thermos for road trips and camping! I've always wanted an actual, working thermos.
Here you go. I know that this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but the lid functions as a cup, and it appears to be relatively good quality, although not necessarily BIFL. I don't think that you're going to find something that unscrews in the middle, and I'm not really sure why you want aluminum specifically. This one is stainless steel.

Have you looked at this Thermos? I've bought 4 personally. First for my wife, only to get jealous and want my own, and I've given two out as gifts. I love it, and on busy days I still have warm coffee until noon.
I have a Thermos travel tumbler that works well.
Very clear open-closed indicator on the top. Seals completely when closed, so no leaking in transit. Lid comes apart for cleaning.
I've only had it for a couple months, so I can't speak for the longevity, but no issues so far.
I started with an OXO and had it for years. it was spill proof, kept my coffee hot for hours and hours, the spout was comfy, but the lid mechanism didn't break apart for cleaning. Eventually this became a problem... seals stretched and I would have to find creative ways to keep the breather hole clear of coffee particulate.

About a year ago I replaced the oxo for a Thermos.. The lid breaks apart for easy cleaning, and it certainly keeps the contents hot. So hot, in fact, that It took a while to get used to how much hotter the coffee was. after a year or so, its the only complaint I have. Coffee is too hot to drink sometimes.
Both mugs are stainless inside, but the thermos is unibody and the oxo had a plastic top portion.

I use this. It fits in my bottle cage, however I usually carry it in the water bottle holder of my bookbag. It is completely spill proof, so you could close it and throw it in a bag without worrying at all about spillage. It also disassembles so that you can clean every nook. And it keeps coffee warm longer than any mug I have ever used (and almost as long as a vacuum thermos). Hot coffee in the morning is still warm at the end of the day, and not quite room temp until late evening.

Interesting that Amazon apparently has a category called "Commuter & Travel Mugs"…and also a category called "Travel & To-Go Drinkware." The Zojirushi is #1 in the former, and the Thermos Stainless 16-oz is king of the later category. One wonders how many other travel/mug categories there are.
I own 16-oz thermos and really like it with two exceptions: The finish is wearing off the top of the mug, exposing the stainless steel beneath. And the bottom of the mug is smaller than a lot of modern car cupholders, meaning the thing is prone to tipping back and forth in cupholders that don't have one of those springy tensioner mechanisms. Luckily it's highly spill-resistant (It's been sideways in my passenger seat before without issue), so the tipping isn't really a big deal. You could honestly keep this thing sideways in the car seat next to you.
Also, I accidentally misplaced one of the rubber gaskets while cleaning my Thermos. I mailed Thermos and they sent me a complete replacement lid (all components included) free of charge. Huge props to any company that is committed to that level of customer service.
That said, I wouldn't toss this thing inside a backpack, or otherwise leave it to its own devices if it weren't right side up. It also won't keep your coffee hot for half a day, though it will keep it warm for an hour or two, which is plenty more than most folks need.
tl;dr: If you're looking for more of a "thermos" mug, I'd go with the Zojirushi (I'm actually probably going to order one for my backcountry pursuits as modern Thermos "thermoses" are apparently garbage). If you're looking for something to use in the car, I'd definitely recommend the Thermos travel mug.
I love this guy. I accidentally left him on the top of my car, took off and and he flew right off! A few scratches and a bump I undid with a hammer but he's still sexy. Also, these vacuum guys almost work too well. After years of getting used to Newton's Law of Cooling, I'm always surprised when my coffee maintains its temperature.
You should try a Thermos travel mug! It far exceeds the Contigo in performance. Beverages stay piping hot for HOURS (3-4). The Contigo gradually cools off in about an hour.
I just realized that this performance is without utilizing their pre-chill/pre-heat suggestion, which makes sense. I could even run a batch of hot water directly from my Keurig into my mug before making my coffee.
BTW, on my old-style Keurig, I use the middle cup + smallest cup to fill this. Largest cup + smallest overflows. I use the same pod for both brews; I don't think it's too weak if you're using a strong coffee to begin with.

This Guy. Small enough to fit in my tank bag, holds plenty of coffee to get me through the morning, and will keep it warm until the end of the day if kept closed.
I have the Bodum Brazil french press and I really like it. It's super easy to clean, you can just unscrew the filter, rinse, and put it in the dishwasher after cleaning out the grinds. It comes in a 12 ounce size, which might be what you're looking for. Bodum is typically a good brand to go with. All on Amazon.
With the French Press, you have to pour the coffee out of the press immediately after you've pressed the filter. Otherwise it'll continue brewing and get gross. I have a 16 Ounce Thermos so I pour straight into that after preheating, seal it up and then I'm good. I bring a coffee mug and empty a little bit in when I drink it. It keeps coffee hot for hours. You'll need some sort of insulated apparatus to pour your coffee in to if you make more than one cup.
For beans - check out this post for a local roaster near you. I only really know philly and LA beans, beyond that I don't really know which would be good to get. If you're totally lost and don't know where to start, go with a subscription service like Moustache Coffee Club. They send you a bag of beans every month, couple of weeks or every week if you choose. It's all great coffee from some of the best roasters in LA. Their prices are some of the best. Other subscriptions LOOK like they cost less, but if you factor in price, shipping and amount they ship, Moustache is actually significantly less expensive. Free shipping, about 17.50 a bag total, for quality fresh roasted coffee. That still factors out to less than a dollar per cup of coffee, which is much less than some cups you can buy most coffee shops.
Don't get beans on Amazon. You should look for somewhere that can send you beans that are fresh roasted, within a couple days of being roasted. It's a huge difference.
The one I liked the most was a Thermos one, but then I lost one of the little pieces that was integral to the seal, and I gave up on drinking stuff on my way to work.
I use this one by Thermos. It kicks butt and keeps coffee hot all day long. I'd maybe replace it with the white-topped version though. The drinking slots on the black model are hard to see.

I purchased a Thermos Sipp a few months ago after having the regular Starbucks and grocery store travel mugs leave me wanting. The Sipp is amazing. Keeps it hot for 4-5 hours depending on if I have the vent open, and doesn't spill a drop if it is closed. Highly recommend.

I've owned the above Thermos for about 4 years. It got me through college. It keeps coffee hot all day, and doesn't affect the taste as far as I can tell. It hasn't leaked on me yet.
I can't recommend this thermos enough. Although it doesn't have a compartment, it does have a hook for your tea bag.

I have been using the Takeya pitchers that Soylent sends out to new customers, I liked them so well I bought a total of 7 during the crowd-funding, so I can just throw them in the dishwasher every day. It looks like the amazon prices have started going up, but you "should" be able to get them for about $10 ea, and I've heard Costco has them in a 2 pack for $15.
I use 24oz Thermos hydration bottles when I go out, I bought mine at Walmart for about $20 ea.
Some recipes will need a blender, but I've stop using it for my current recipe. Just shake well in the Takeya, my current recipe also emulsifies really well and tends to stay that way.
I've been trying to increase my water intake too. For me, it has to be COLD and filtered. A brita filter + this water bottle has helped immensely.
Most important: Get one with a vacuum seal. Nothing else works as well. Referencing the comment from /u/0accountability... There are Contigo Autoseals with and without the vacuum seal.
I recently bought two "actual" Thermoses. For something I love and use every day I feel they're inexpensive (mine were $25 and $30 )and after a few months of every day use, I'm a huge fan. My recommendation, look through the Thermos brand products on Amazon and on Thermos.com. Find one that "Keeps hot for 24 hours", then look for other features that you're interested in. (How it looks, does it have a caribeener, does it float, etc.)
I bought one, loved it so much I decided to get one with a caribeener and gave the "old one" to my wife who loves it as well.

I have only used mine for cold liquids, but I've been really impressed by the quality and performance. They both keep drinks cold for 12-24 hours (REALLY!) It does depend on external temp and starting temp of the liquid but I have been astonished by their ability maintain temperature. Judging from my experiences with the cold, I expect the hot to do very well.
They make a version that has a screw on cup cap I got specifically for this reason.
Any good thermos will be your friend here if you want to keep your ice cold smoothies ice cold by the time it gets to lunch time. Some will keep them ice cold even up to supper. If you want a brand name i'd recommend a zojirushi like this one:

Looking in there, I saw an Aeropress (My favorite way to make a single cup of black coffee), I saw a super cheap v60 pourover device for like $5 which would leave you money to buy some gourmet coffee to go with it.
If he really loves good coffee you could order some stuff from stumptown coffee or blue bottle or one of those fancy places online.
a bag of coffee is never a bad gift for someone who likes coffee. a brewing device is a bit riskier as they may already have one and some of them require other gear and you don't know what he has and doesn't have.
Also worth mentioning are these Zojirushi thermoses. The Zojirushi ones are made with some kind of black magic that keeps heat trapped inside for amounts of time that defies physics. There's the one I linked which pours into a cup or there's the other style that you drink straight from. I prefer the cup style because the coffee stays burning hot for so long that I need to pour it into the cup to let it cool while I sip. I always burn my tongue on the other style though it's better when driving. I have both. Only bad thing is it is a few dollars over your mark. But all the good Secret Santa gifts go a little over. ;)

On the other hand, I highly recommend an old style vacuum bottle. They retain heat ridiculously well and use no power since it is an inherent property of the bottle's construction.
Zojirushi is a Japanese brand of kitchen appliances and storage items, but I was referring to their insulated mug that everyone says is amazing. So far I agree.
I got a 12oz version a while ago and I love it. Never spills, easy to drink from, keeps things hot for hours. It's worth pointing out that the newer ones have some kind of coating on the inside that may or may not give you cancer. Here's a link to the old model that doesn't have the new coating.

I use zojirushi for my iced coffee and my cold brew. The ice melts in my iced coffee because the coffee isn't really cold because it's not refrigerated(I do a pour over on ice, which melts all the ice). So I add 2-3 cubes of ice and it melts and doesn't really dilute it much.
As for cold brew, I'll dilute it with some water, add a few cubes of ice, and I'm good with delicious cold coffee. It's pretty tough, you only need one hand to handle it as the top pops open and stays open, and it doesn't sweat at all. Pretty easy to clean, too.
I know you want cold coffee, but if you ever use hot in this thing, it'll keep hot for 6+ hours. I don't know how long it will actually stay hot, as I'm usually done before 3 hours. But I forgot about my coffee once and it was hot after 6 hours of just sitting there.
I've used this Zojirushi mug for about 5 years. It's amazing. It's coated and doesn't change the flavor of coffee. It insulates so well that I drop an ice cube into my pourover when I pour it in so that I can drink my coffee right away. It's classy looking. Most importantly, you can throw it in a bag, turn it upside-down, shake it, or drop it on the ground, and it won't spill. I'm a bike commuter and this mug hasn't let me down yet.
Edit - the only downside is that it isn't dishwasher safe. I rinse it daily, soap every now and then, and wash it with cafiza once every few months to get built up coffee oils out - that's been enough for me.
I'm assuming you're talking about this one.. Yes, it's basically magic. If you don't pour it into another mug or leave the lid off, it'll be too hot to drink 8+ hours later. I accidentally left in the fridge all day at work. It was still well above room temperature at the end of the day.

Regards with Q2: normal breakfast of eggs and toast every morning and I always go with my Zojirushi Mug which keeps my coffee too hot. If I don't get to it by 2 or 3 pm it's still too hot to drink so I have to let it cool down.

I use a french press and sediment is totally fine by me. What I didn't like is that it basically took away all the convenience of using the Keurig. I used it a couple times and switched to just brewing it at home and bringing it to work in a thermos. Well... Technically it's a Zojirushi.
If you're okay spending ~10 minutes getting it in the machine and whatnot then cleaning it out then it's a pretty good investment. It does make good coffee. It's just a bit more work than I expected.

Modern MRE bags will have a bag that you add water to and a chemical pouch it has and it heats the food pouch. You dont want to drink that water but you could possibly have a water pouch that gets heated instead of the food pouch.
A bit convoluted to get hot water but...its possible.

I had a student teacher who bought me this thermos. On my life it is the single best teaching gift I've ever received. This thermos is otherworldly. It keeps all beverages piping hot for the full day and I now never have to drink room temperature coffee or tea. I once filled it and put it in the fridge overnight so I could take iced coffee to work the next day. The next morning I took a swig...and burnt my tongue. I felt like both would be excellent on insulation, was more concerned about the mouth spout disassembly and cleaning when the Hydroflask is nice, simple flip top. I had a 'modern' Stanley coffee flask that had a complicated mouth spout that was a pure pain to clean.

This is the travel mug that I have, and I'm absolutely in love with it. You do have to press to open it, but can leave the lid opened as long as you want. I've had it for nearly a year, and it seriously has never leaked... which is an important feature if you like to throw your travel mug in a bag. Plus, it keeps coffee hot for a really long time; if I don't finish all of my coffee in the morning, what's left is still warm when I get home in the evening.

I see a lot of recommendations for Hydroflask here. As an owner of one I can tell you 100% they aren't buyitforlife. Don't get me wrong I LOVE mine and use it every day. But three months in and it has a bunch of dents from very small bumps and like 2 foot drops . The coating is also chipping off on the bottom from normal use.
If you want buyitforlife quality I highly recommend another one I've used for years now, Thermos. When I handle a big party I just make a Jungle Bird or a Zombie scaled up to this container, leaving room for about 8 oz of crushed ice, shake it like crazy to chill and get a little dilution, seal, put in fridge till the party is about to begin. I always shake the container a bit before pouring it into a glass with ice, smack a mint sprig and put it in there. Easy.
For a third drink you could do a Moscow Mule, people fucking love those. Combine 1/2 oz lime juice and 2 oz vodka in a shaker per order, shake with ice, strain into however many glasses evenly, and top with 4 oz of ginger beer each. Ez-pz. at parties lime juice makes people feel fresh and alive. You can also make a huge batch of margarita.
Have some coke around and do jack and coke. Have some Gosling's Black Seal and do Dark and Stormy's (2 to 1 of ginger beer to rum) with the ginger beer.
This is going to be rough. Try your best to not have to do this, if you aren't a pro, this will be a nightmare for you.
My Zojirushi seals up nicely and will still burn my tongue after lunch. The locking lid is great.
Hard boil eggs a few days in advance, bring 3/day as morning snacks. (they won't need refrigerating for a few hours)
Make a bowl of cottage cheese (4% ideal, 2% if you have to but never non-fat) and add fruit to it the night before. Put in fridge for a fast morning meal before you leave.
You can make a protein shake in the morning too - I like AllMax Hexapro because it takes a while to digest and it's thick but get whatever type you enjoy.
Doing the above, my breakfasts are about 450-Cal and keep me full until mid-morning or lunch when I tuck in to the eggs.
Ditch the Hamburger Helper - it's basically sugar, starch, and more sugar, with some spices.
Greek yogurt is GREAT! Just make sure you get the HIGH FAT type - something like 6-8%. Fat is NOT the enemy; sugar/carbs are.
FROZEN FRUIT: game-changer for me. Never goes bad, usually picked at peak ripeness. I stock the freezer up when it's on sale, then take a cup out the night before and let it thaw in the fridge.

I don't have any experience with the newer version (which also comes as a 20 ounce), but I'd assume it's pretty good. I have quite a few different Stanley thermoses, as well as the mug. All of them hold temp well, whether it be cold or hot. The only time one leaked was when I didn't fully tighten the lid, otherwise no issues. They are also pretty tough....I've dropped them a few times while hiking, and they've been fine. I'm not sure why Stanley gets so much hate online, I've always had great luck with their products.
No reason for you to have to wrory about this, or eat lukewardm food when something has already been invented to take care of this problem. A thermos

Depending on how long it is from when you leave home until when you eat you could just bring something you don't mind eating at room temp.
My old office only had 2 microwaves for over 100 people, probably over 150. The office before that had 2-4 and for a few months none. Needless to say there was always a wait at lunch time. I just started eating my food room temp.
Obviously not everything tastes as good at room temp. I've had good luck with Japanese bento style meals; rice, veg, a bit of meat. Just bento cookbook is a good resource. She has tips for making ahead and freezing parts of the meals as well.
If you have time to cook something quick or heat up some soup a good lunch jar will keep it warm until it's time to eat. It great for pasta and sauce.
For a heartier meal and/or more variety mr bento can't be beat. The stuff at the bottom stays warmest. Again it requires some prep time in the morning though

Not glass, but I use a Stanley vacuum mug and highly reccommend it. Spill-proof, break-proof, and keeps my coffee warm for hours. I haven't noticed it altering the taste of my coffee.
A lunchbox item like this one. This is a 24-ounce one, and there is a 16-ounce one, too. What size? I have a Zojirushi thermos that keeps my coffee hot for a long time. My coffee doesn't last more than 4 hours, but it stayed pretty close to original temps for those 4 hours. It holds about 16oz. For larger sizes though, you might want to consider a Thermos brand as the Zoji's get pretty expensive.

I have travel mugs from David's tea. They have have the ones that unscrew on top, or flip open. They have kept my tea and other drink hot for hours and icy cold for just as long.
I would also recommend Zojirushi tumblers (like this one), they are excellent as well, or Thermos tumblers (like this).
Just decide on what kind of design you want, flip open or screw open top, and then which size fits you better, as in 12oz or 16 oz or 20 oz. Most of them are stainless steel inside which is excellent and most tops are easy to clean.
I would recommend travel mugs from any of those brands, as me and my family have used them, and the only reason i ever get a new one, is because i want a different color or different capacity.

I absolutely love my vacuum thermos. I use a 1.1 Quart Stanley vacuum thermos. It can hold just shy of 8 cups of coffee, which means when I brew coffee in the morning, I drink one cup and put the rest in the thermos for the work day, and that works really well. If I didn't drink all of my coffee during the day, it's almost always hot enough the next morning to drink and be merry.
Even better, since it's thick-ass stainless steel, it has taken a lot of massive beatings and only has a very light dent where it fell several feet and landed its bottom corner against a street curb. My father-in-law has two of them that survived a house fire in the source room hot enough that it melted the front of his truck parked 50 feet from the house.

I use a Thermos Backpack Bottle for all my hot or cold beverage needs. It keeps stuff hot of cold for hours. I doesn't leak. It has a little latch on the top so you can securely close it. I even put it in my purse with books and things! When you drink from it, it is like drinking from a cup, so you get the aroma of the beverage. It is fairly easy to clean. Nissan travel mugs are the best. THE BEST. I've used two different ones, and they have both astounded me. My coffee will sit in a cold winter car for 24 hours, and still be warm. Not even close to hot, mind you, but warm to the tongue. It literally defies reason.

My physical dependence might be a result of many years of consuming copious amount of caffeine or maybe just my own special genetic predisposition to migraines, to be fair.
Buy a well insulated bottle (e.g. this) and fill it with ice, then whatever space is left fill it with water. Unless it's sitting directly in the sun all day, it should keep cool and you can keep refilling the water.
Alternatively, buy a giant 2L jug of water, take the cap off and freeze it overnight, and bring that with you the next day.
I would invest in the following:
Diet coke can be addictive. I was drinking it for the caffeine - but I realized how expensive it was and switched to making my own coffee/tea/iced tea in the morning and packing it in a large thermos for work. I probably saved ~ $500 doing this for the past year.
I also mention the Sigg Water bottle because I was getting dehydrated and bottled water is a huge waste of money. So I would always pack a water bottle as well to stay hydrated.

I have that Thermos and take it to work with me everyday. I was spending $2 a pop at the coffee joint everyday for their biggest sized cup. Now i take the thermos. Some days ill have 1 cup. Some times 3. A few times ill polish the thing off. You never know what kind of day youll be having. Either way your coffee will stay hot all day. Hell the coffee is still warm in the morning when i dump the excess out the next day.
Maintenance is easy. I personally have never washed mine but i think the ol lady has a couple times. If you are a cream and/or sugar guy then id wash it...or buy a bundle and keep it at your desk.

Screw break room coffee! Thermoses are definitely the way to go for taking your brew to work. I got one a Stainless Thermos
and that puppy keeps my coffee piping hot from 7am until at least 1 or 2pm. It's black magic.
You can get a good insulated container (appropriately sized for your needs) and transfer the coffee from the Chemex to the insulated vessel. I essentially do the same thing everyday to bring my coffee to work (but in a smaller insulated zoijurishi).

I've bought them at walmart and ROSS (cheapest there, though the color selection was limited). Between my wife and I we have like 6 of them. They go to work with us, stay in cars, go to the gym, go around the house, etc. They work amazingly well, and I've never had one break (even when dropped onto cement/tile). Also, because the top screws off it's easy to scrub inside, or put a bunch of regular ice cubes in, etc. They handle the freezer well also.
They're even easy enough to open/close that I can do that with 16oz sparring gloves on.
I have a 32 oz camelbak, but I feel ya on the dog fur. The rubber mouthpiece is also harder to clean.

I have the same issues as OP, and I drink that much water a day because im always thirsty, but I pee every hour so it doesnt seem to help my other issues. Going to an endocrinologist and checking in with my nephrologist soon, but in the meantime it's annoying. I keep a sweet awesome water bottle always full, because having a nice one with a counter in the lid keeps me motivated to drink more. I take it everywhere with me, and that one has a lock so it never leaks in my purse.

This is my favorite travel mug! It rules. Nothing ever spills, it keeps stuff the same temperature for 5-6 hours, and it's very easy and comfortable to drink from. I really dislike putting my mouth on plastic when drinking coffee, so the stainless steel rim is neat. This is also the only travel mug I have ever owned that doesn't leak AT ALL. It's a little annoying to clean, which is its only drawback in my book! I thought about buying the Contigo, but my experience with mugs that have similar sealing mechanisms was not great.

It's 16 oz or 473 ml but there are smaller sizes available. I drink the whole thing with French Press and a bit of milk as my morning coffee.
What I love about it is that I can leisurely drink a large coffee over 30 minutes and the temperature stays hot.....and this is with the top completely off (I don't like drinking through the hole even though it's well designed....would use it while driving though). I like this tumbler so much I even use it when I am home. If I am drinking this much coffee in a conventional mug I will end up chugging the last third or half because it's getting cold.
There are options with handles but I like the clean look of the tumbler. You can grab it how you want, ice water or boiling water inside, you will feel nothing. You can also set it down on anything because it's cool to the touch. People at work have commented on the stylish look of it as well.
With the lid, the coffee will stay hot enough to drink for hours. I wouldn't drink 8 hour coffee even if it was in a thermos but in theory you could. However it'll definitely keep on your commute to work if you want to drink it at your desk instead of on the way.
I use a Thermos Sipp. Been using it for about a year. Keeps the coffee very hot and is relatively easy to clean. Because it is made out of stainless steel you don't get the nasty plastic flavor. The top is constructed of plastic but this does not seem to effect the flavor. I would recommend it.
Add-on comment: before you buy it, look it over really well. Ask yourself, “can I clean every square inch of this, inside and out?”
Many water bottles have intricate lid mechanisms that are notorious for getting grimy. Some base units have very narrow openings that make cleaning the interior virtually impossible.
Ideally you want to be able to deconstruct the entire lid for cleaning and have an opening big enough to fit your hand or a decent bottle brush.
Here is the one I settled on. Keeps the temp for hours, and the lid splits up into a half dozen pieces for easy cleaning.

I use a Thermos Sipp Tumbler almost daily and it has done magnificently. The lid assembly can be tricky if you ever take it apart, just make sure everything is reassembled correctly. This guy has been my trusty companion for the last few years in grad school and I love it. All the gaskets come apart for easy cleaning. I've never thrown it into a bag while full, but it keeps a really good seal and you can shake it all around without any leaks.

I actually have two. One is strictly for coffee. The other for tea or water. While they're not particularly difficult to clean, I don't like my tea tasting like coffee.

This is the one I use and it's pretty good.
Zojirushi's mugs are the best for keeping any liquid hot/cold for ALL DAY long. I would pour boiling water in the morning, and at the end of the day it would be still hot. I use this usually for teas because I drink espresso.. You should check this out.

I have the cargo, only the flap is leather but the liner is nice. I believe the rough rider is all leather.
As for the adult sippy cup needs I've had one of these Zojirushi travel mugs for several years with no issue. As a plus they're slim, and feature a lock on the lid. (The only issue I have is that my coffee stays too hot )

I use a double walled metal travel mug fromZojirushi and love it. The outside doesn't get hot/cold from contents, no noticeable flavor change, stays hot/cold forever (iced drinks still have whole cubes when I get home after work and have dinner).
So if you missed it in the mail soon, but it's a frustrating solution. They have a few pieces of barware that I have to disagree on the quality and value. (and that is on the very low end of quality, locally roasted bag of coffee, and a Zojirushi 500 ml mug.
Yeah, anything glass, ceramic, or stainless steel is what you want. Make sure the stainless steel isn't coated on the inside.
Some suggestions:
A roomate has a plastic reusable tumbler like the one you included in your post. I haven't smelled it, but I have noticed that it's cracked and stained brown. Avoid plastic.
I had this porcelain version of the mug you linked to for years and loved it. I was so sad when I dropped it. I really should buy a new one. Anyway, the inside was always clean, the top was easy enough to clean even if it was silicone, and the insulation was great.
Yeah, I wouldn't do it. I'd rather not have plastic melting into my coffee. Even if you were to do it safely, luke warm coffee isn't very good.
I'm gonna link you to this thing. It is by far the best tumbler I've ever used for hot coffee (or even cold coffee). It doesn't leak, it keeps everything super hot for a really long time, and is really easy to drink from.
All startups have coffee makers - you could get him a coffee mug that represents something meaningful to you both.
If he drives a lot to/from work or for work, there are some great water bottles and thermos travelers. I personally like the stainless steel insulated MiiR bottle. Zojirushi also makes some beautiful ones.
I used these for ~5-6 years each. I ended up breaking them/dropping them one too many times so I threw them out to try the new "style" the bottle itself wasn't as durable and the style was too clunky. I prefer minimalist looks.

If you're looking for something to keep hot water in I recommend either the elephant (zojirushi) or tiger brand. Both are top brands in asia cough Japan cough and I've once left water in the elephant brand for ~30 hours. Still warm. :)

While it’s not cheap it works great and lasts with no condensation. The lid locks and it doesn’t leak. Avoid this one. To improve upon this habit, get a bottle that you like and is easy to carry. I carry a Zojirushi because I personally like the "metallic" taste you tend to get with metal bottles and this bottle is slim so it tends to fit easily in my back pocket when I'm walking around. For those that wear form fitting clothing, that may not be an option for you.

They literally keep hot Liquid hot for 7+ hours. And not just warm but still piping hot. Downside you still have the problem of buring your mouth after an hour of pouring coffee in it. It works too damn good.
I have to leave the lid open for a bit in order for it to be drinkable.

I just bought two of these 1L Thermoses and started throwing them in my bag with me when I go to work. You can knock out about half a gallon on the go that way.
Or you could get a really good coffee mug, like this one, brew your own cup at home for +/- 25 cents per cup and avoid contributing to pollution (car emissions + plastic & paper for the cup + receipt) as well as wasting 10 minutes in line or at the drive-thru. If brewing a pot is too much, get one of these.
