You can't predict every failure, but this will fix most major issues enough to get you to a shop or a safe place to work. Give the Jeep a once over, front to back, left to right. Drive it at highway speeds for 30 minutes and source out any shakes, squeaks, rattles, buzzes, etc.

        Hope this helps.

Basically the stem is part of the TPMS and if the cap rusts on and is no longer removable from the stem, you need a new TPMS. Unfortunately as cool as they look, you can't use metal caps. Heres a link to some on Amazon. Look at the comments. People have had to spend $400+ for new stems and sensors.

Never buy those Pressure valve caps for tires. They are a safety hazard. Debris can crack them, and then the deflation is rapid.

u/archibaldious · 4 pointsr/ebikes

my experience with those wide 20 inch wheels is that it can be tough to get the tire back on without breaking some tire levers. also, its not fun at all. leave the tire out in the sun before trying to put it back on the rim.

my advice is to:

  1. use some pliers to fully remove the thorns

  2. remove the valve core with a valve core remover (i like these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074SFM6SX)

  3. squeeze in a good bit of cycling tire sealant into the tube, replace valve core

  4. pump to about 75% normal psi, spin the wheel a bit and let dry with punctured area at lowest point touching the ground

  5. if psi holds pump to 100%, if not repeat

both of my wheels are loaded up with sealant by now and I use it regularly on all my bikes to avoid changing tires

Here's most of the nugets of advice I typed up for a co-worker friend of mine who's expecting his Tesla soon.

  • Prior to your delivery day, download and install the Tesla app to your phone from the app store. It won’t let you sign-in until delivery day, but it’s good to have this working then. Your phone is the also a key to get into the car. The delivery specialist person will help you set it up.

  • As a key, the phone app works at about, 99% reliability. About 1 out of a hundred times, you have to open the door with the card key. Always keep your card key on you as you would with a regular key – because you never know when the phone isn’t going to open the door. Also, never leave your phone in the car for obvious reasons (workaround: pin to drive for extra security).

  • Get your Chargepoint account setup. They’ll mail you a little rfid credit card thing that you can keep in the car that you can use to tap sign-in to the charging station. The Chargepoint app on your phone can also be used to log into the charging stations.

  • Also get the Plugshare app as well.

  • Accessorize – with some of the stuff here. I have the portable air compressor pump and the tire repair kit in the trunk of my car. Model 3 does not have a spare tire.

  • Also, order the Nema 14-50 adapter for the mobile charger. Tesla, as I understand it, doesn’t provide this cable with the car anymore, only the standard socket port cable. Although I hear some folks say if you ask your delivery specialist prior to pickup, they will give you one. The 14-50 is the “4 prong dryer outlet” socket and the 6-50 is the “3-prong” version. Having both in your car would be useful for parking at friends houses who have such a socket in their garage.

  • And finally, get these.

I'm guessing you need something like this.

I'm linking that one because it includes three different angles, you'll probably have a better idea of which one would fit the best. Changing stems would probably be a better solution.

I got this from amazon, works well for me.

Rubber non TPMS valve stems are fairly uniform across the board from automotive wheels to hand dolly wheels. If the rubber valve stem isn’t sealing properly and it’s a aftermarket wheel then I would say it’s safe to assume the valve stem hole has been bored out.

How many wheels are leaking, and for %100 sure it’s the valve stem to wheel mating area leaking and not the wheel bead?

Edit: just read your old posts and did some digging. Your wheels won’t fit the standard rubber valves stems, they do but they don’t. You need another flush mount kit to go back into the original holes. They should seal on their own with the rubber gasket supplied, if not then you can try some bead sealer also in Conjunction with the rubber washer on the valve stem base.

They make them. These fit on my Goldwing, but I am not sure if they would fit your application.

Looking further, here are some that say car compatible. Looks like searching for uxcell might be the answer and you might get some cool colors.

Put these on and just check that they're green before you go.

What are your thoughts as to how he actuates the sealer?

I've thought about building a diy chamber vac, and would rather just put one of these inside the chamber with this traversing the wall to the outside world. Costs less money and this way you don't need to hook up a separate gauge.

The tubes will only go in one way. You don't need to balance your tires, make sure you put the tires on the correct direction, there will be an arrow showing the tire's rotation. Make sure you line up the painted dot that's on the tire with the valve stem. Put a small amount of air in the tube when you put it in the tire to help prevent pinching it when installing the other side of the tire. Also put some baby powder on the tube when you install it.

More lube is better when installing and removing tires. If you haven't bought any tools yet you'll want three decent tire spoons, this shit is the best tire mounting lube I have ever used, you can also put some in a squirt bottle with warm water. Seriously, that shit is amazing, but you can also use Windex or some dish soap mixed with water in a squirt bottle. You will also want a valve core remover, or you can use these.

Don't be afraid to inflate the things to like 60psi to seat the bead. Sometimes you have to fill and deflate the tire a few times to seat the bead. Stay away from the bead when it's seating, when it seats it happens fast and it will take your finger off.

Lastly, don't buy this pile of shit compressor, spend the extra money and get a decent piston type.

Amazon has them or almost any auto parts store.

I have a Boxster S with Antera rims, but I can't find an adapter to fill a flat tire with the flush-mount valve stem.

I've already purchased and tried this from Gorilla (www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Automotive-VS406C-Flush-Mount/dp/B000CMJ3L8), but the filler tube is too big to fit these rims. I've contacted Antera, but no response from them yet either.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

They are great. Especially when your tires are fine but your TPMS light goes on, you immediately know it's the sensor and not your tires.

here's something very similar:

KEX Pack of 100 Chrome Hex Dome Metal Valve caps

Can’t vouch for quality but $18.88 for a hundred ain’t bad.

Picking up a valve extender similar to these will help you with inflating the tires. https://www.amazon.com/Cuque-Extension-Extender-Universal-1-54-Inch/dp/B07NP8QFBT/
Losing air while unscrewing their shit adapter can be frustrating. These provide an extra valve and grip while unscrewing with losing minimal air.
