Also take snacks, obviously! If your children are hard to reach, you can use a toy-link-chain to attach your favorite no-spill snack cup to their carseat buckle so it doesn't fall out of their seat while snacking. Blankets and favorite snuggle-toys for que'ing sleep.

You may also want to consider a toddler travel pillow, if you feel their heads flop around when they fall asleep in the car. It might help them wake up in a less-cranky mood on the road.
