So I live in Texas where we get maybe 2 months of actual winter weather, but my big wish for next year when I can hopefully somewhat pass is LONG COATS. I love the one cosplay long coat I have and have always thought that tailcoats were the only piece of mens fashion that was worth a damn in history. Looking forward to them so much. Don't so much have outfits but I'll post a couple cute/cool ones. My fashion sense is "peppy goth" so ymmv.

Betsey Johnson has some skirted trenches. This one also has the little bow from the corseted back.

This one has a flared skirt, too.

Not sure if you're male or female, but I have a coat that I got off of Amazon and I absolutely love it.

I wear a trench coat for this in between time - something like this although mine is an off brand I picked up at the thrift store. Mine is grey and I like that it's a good in between color and matches any shoes.

Floridian here! You'll notice the locals, because they'll be wearing pants.

How heat sensitive are you? If you really don't like the heat, pack lighter fabrics (linens and cotton). An umbrella is a must. I bring mine everywhere everyday during the summer, because it will rain at some point during the day. Costco had great quality at a great price for small umbrellas.

I have a cute rain jacket, but I recommend getting a lightweight one like this.

For shoes, it's a personal preference. I'm fine with dirty wet feet, so I wear flip flops and wash my feet at home. I don't like shoes that keep my feet wet. I also keep a towel in my car to wipe down. These are my go to flip flops for walking. They are so comfortable.

This is my favorite poncho. I'm into being more sustainable and don't like throwing away single use ponchos so I got this one for myself and my husband. They look similar to the cast ponchos and every time we wear them we are asked where we bought them.

I like that they button up the front so there's a little airflow. I haven't had issues with it leaking in the front much, maybe just a few drops. When we were waiting on a parade we sat down on our inflatable seat cushions (my favorite disney must have accessory!) and just held it opened up above our head and it worked really nicely. I recommend a wet bag to fold and store them in after use. Then just open them up and hang them to dry back in the room.

We've had them over a year and still going strong. The only downside is it's one size and fitted, it's almost snug on my husband (~210 lbs) but he still has a little breathing room. For me I have lots of room inside.

However, if it's just a small chance of rain or a short period of time the disposables are definitely more convenient to carry. It all depends on your preferences!

Have a great trip!

I also have a Calvin Klein trench coat with a hood in red from Amazon over a year ago. It's amazing. Light weight, super flattering. I get compliments on it all the time. The coat I linked is no longer available, but this one is similar and comes in a few different colors.

Amazon! Not sure if this is the exact one but it was similar to this one.

Maybe this? This? Or this? Or this??

Ahhh, this is so hard!

u/00nightsteel · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Does anyone know a trench like this but for guys? As in with the hood.

I'm not familiar with Charles River, but I recently bought this rain jacket for a summer music festival. It packs down very small and kept me nice and dry. It's very thin, though, so won't do much of anything for keeping you warm.

I think this has the overall look, though the colour is wrong:

Check out London Fog trenches. Last season's are on sale at the moment, and within your price range. I recently got one similar to this one, and really like it.

The meadows? I'll see you there.

I bought a can of water repellant spray that I'm planning to spray on my shoes and bag. Also have a poncho from amazon that looks pretty dope. RAINS looks so dope, I wish I had the time to buy it. Also planning to wear some heattech/airism stuff with a linen shirt.

Still thinking about bottoms..

Have gone all over the world with this rain trench, including Seattle rain as home base. Easy to pack, slightly stylish and very water resistant. Not monsoon proof, but definitely EU type rain will work.

I was figuring a couple of cardigans or shawls (I usually keep one in my purse even when it's 100f here, just because I get chilly on the train or in shops) and maybe this jacket in case of rain or chilly nights (Google was saying an average of 56F at night) - but I also only got the jacket last week, so I'm still figuring out how warm it is.

Yeah, I definitely wasn't thinking full on wellies or anything, but these are the only decent flats I own right now and those are definitely not great in even a light drizzle. So really I'm just looking for anything sturdy and cute (preferably in a nice quality leather) that comes pre-treated to at least be water resistant (if not full on waterproof) - I just only ever recall seeing leather boots marked water resistant and never anything summery. I do also have waterproofing spray and I k ow how to use it, but it plays better with, say, a nice solid leather flat than with t-strap sandals.

These are the closest thing to proper rain boots that I've considered and I'm not particularly enthused by them.
