You don't need plugs, the drain holes are enormous, I didn't cover them. I did make sure to put all the bolts back in for the seatbelt and seat brackets and covered the threads with some painter's tape. I used herculiner. Just like any body work, spend most your time on prep and it'll come out great.

For the plastic, clean clean clean.

For surface prep, Don't laugh, but I whip blasted them with the sandblaster. Yes it leaves it rough and ugly. Your spraying on bedliner, no one will ever know.

Edit in, Clean it after you sand blast it. or thoroughly scuff it with 80-120 grit sand paper.

I did the valance, fender flairs in tintatable white on my 03 Sierra. I also did the plastic pieces for the rear bumper and the plastic bed rail piece in black . Even after a year of stepping on the bumper constantly it's held up well.

If I may offer a suggestion; when my Dad fixed up the old fishing boat he used roll-on pickup truck bed liner to coat the floor for a nice non-slip surface.

I used this bed liner kit with the appropriate primers. I'm pretty pleased the result-nice looking and seems quite durable. In a few places it chipped off very quickly, but I think that was my error during the prep phase. Fortunately, I saved one can of the coating from the kit, so I plan to go back and finish these areas properly.

Really most of the work was prep. Prep (cleaning, sanding, cleaning, wire brushing, grinding, cleaning, priming, and cleaning) took two days, and the actual painting took perhaps 45 minutes.

You could try covering the floor with the material used to coat pickup beds. Something like this:

I've used the Raptor Liner a bunch of times and really like it for a DIY kit. You do need a compressor capable of keeping up with the gun though.

If I didn't change the color of the front grill and quarter panel, I would have been able to get away with this kit. 4 bottles would have been enough. But since I still had half a bottle left of black and needed to switch to gray, I ended up wasting that half bottle. That would have saved me from having to buy another bottle to finish up the hood

2009 to 2016 should fit. They're all Gen 4. Amazon has this one for the 6'4" bed.

You do have to roll or brush it on but with bedliner you won't be able to tell the difference. And a lot of times, rolling on is much, much better.

Herculiner might as well make it tough! This is a diy bedliner.

I'm thinking about using this instead of wood flooring. It's water and stain resistant and apparently it's cushioned & feels like carpet. Any thoughts ?

Bought the Raptor liner kit off of ebay for $109 back in 2011 and didn't use it until now. The kit included the spray gun that I treated as a one time use tool. The prep work took the longest time, followed by taping everything off. The actual spraying went real quick. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Things I would do differently.

1. Better job masking things off and tarping the hell out of my garage. This stuff is messy.
   
   
2. Wear a respirator. The little painting mask I used did very little. The fumes are really strong with this stuff.
   
   
3. Line the edge of the bed that goes near the cab. I taped it off but wish I had just spray it also.

I used AL's Liner kit with the spray gun. It turned out great for less than $200. I sprayed it 4 years ago and hardly ever had my top on for many of those years. It has held up great and still looks killer. No areas are coming up even where there is high traffic.

YES!!! I used the same stuff on my van and I LOVE it!!!! I get compliments all the time from people who see it. Very easy to apply if you have a big enough compressor and the gun it uses.

I used Herculiner Bed Liner. Very pricey, but I'm confident that this will last. It's the stuff with the little rubber chunks mixed in. I put a couple of coats on the bottom of mine, which is still being built.

It is just that Line X prices really vary. I could see quotes coming in anywhere from $250 to $1200 for both.

If it was me I think I'd roll the dice on DIY stuff before I spend $1200.
