I'm not sure you should do anything to the wall. It would distract from the entertainment on the TV. What I think would look cool is adding bias lighting behind the screen, which you could match the colors of your furniture/rug/whatever.

If you want non-adaptive bias lighting (doesn't change with what's on the screen), I'd recommend [Loominoodle] (https://www.amazon.com/Luminoodle-Color-Bias-Lighting-Built/dp/B076X85988/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1527786100).

For adaptive bias lighting, it's a little more complicated. If the television doesn't come with it natively, you have to run it through some sort of hardware to figure out what's going to show on screen and react to it. The only one I know worth trying is Lightpack.

One of these: Hue Starter pack (That's a good sale price btw)

One of these: Hue Bloom

This is the strip in the shelf: Luminoodle

This is the strip behind the TV: Generic LED strip

Lamp on the desk I got at IKEA, Lamp next to the PC I think is an IKEA lamp but I found it at a thrift store for $10, and the other floor lamp is just from Target or something.

It's an Audio Video Component Adapter Cable but more specifically: just search for "BN39-01154W" like it says on the label. In stock on Amazon UK.

u/frothface · 5 pointsr/HistoryPorn

Like this?

Seriously though, what's a mutboard?

u/ZosoSpartan · 4 pointsr/outrun

I'm just being dramatic lol, she's always giving me grief for my expensive interests. She does really appreciate it...but not fully...she plays Sims 4 and Town of Salem on this beast!

For the LEDs this is what I used, cheap and colorful...but not much else.

I got two of Luminoodle Color Bias Lighting with a male to female usb on/off switch.

u/punkdthrice · 4 pointsr/4kTV

This is the one I have. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M4FZILR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Keep in mind it's attached right across the middle behind the screen unlike some others which are attached around by the edges of the screen. It comes with a remote and plugs into a USB port behind the TV. For $10 bucks you can't go wrong . (You may need two strips for 65" or get this https://www.amazon.com/Luminoodle-Color-Bias-Lighting-Built/dp/B076X85988/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1542820803&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=bias+lighting&psc=1)

u/PetiePal · 4 pointsr/hometheater

I mean honestly it's not that expensive. There are deals on bias lighting on Gizmodo all the time for like 10-15 bucks for a USB strip. Unless you go down the Aquos or more expensive route that color changes to match stuff on screen which you don't really gain any benefit from.

With Ikea even selling cheaper sets now it's not hard at all.

Take a look $12 on sale on Amazon right now. Comes with a remote too.

If it works with Logitech Harmony stuff even better it can be auto on/off etc.

Edit: The brand I picked up in the past was Luminoodle

Luminoodle!

I did a lot of searching around for a durable one with an easy-to-use remote. I finally arrived at this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LG99NW4

and I absolutely love it. The quality is great and it's really easy to install — and like you said, it looks great when on.

u/greengorilla60 · 3 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

I've got this behind my ultrawide, and a similar one behind my portrait monitor. I have a generic amazon LED strip behind and under the desk. And then there's this lightbulb in this lamp behind my left speaker. In my PC I've got HD120 fans and the Corsair lighting node pro.

u/AlienShrooms · 3 pointsr/gamingpc

I used this

Looks like this

u/Alseho · 2 pointsr/Gamecube

What is that component adapter you are using? Looks like this but without the audio jack inputs. Nice work tho, I plan on doing something similar soon, but have all 5 rca plugs go out to not need the A/V cable.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/smashbros

I use a [bn39 adapter cable] (https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-BN39-01154W-CBF-Signal/dp/B005DNSCNG) on my LCD Flat Screen TV. I don't play Wii games that much, instead opting for Melee (I know, I know, blah blah blah input lag blah blah blah CRTs), but when I do play Wii games (Brawl and MKwii mostly) they always come out black and white. Can anyone give me an explanation? I think I know why, since I've changed that part out a few times, and this time we used a different brand, but does anyone know about this for sure?

u/matttopotamus · 2 pointsr/hometheater

No. There are more expensive bias lighting that plugs into your TV to accomplish that. For these you are better setting it on white. White and 6500k is technically what it should be.

You can manually change the color to match what is on the TV though.

Here is another type of light that plugs into the TV. I personally have no experience with it though.

u/alf3311 · 2 pointsr/hometheater

Hmm bummer.

I see the Lumidoodle color strip includes the dimmer control, and I know my white Lumidoodle remembers its settings when powered off/on so I assume the color one would too. I think if you just set it to white you should be good.

u/vacuous_comment · 2 pointsr/whatisthisthing

Also on amazon.com, also found via googling the part number. It was the first hit.

u/OrganizedChaos6 · 2 pointsr/n64

So I got it working. Instead of the cord I posted below I plugged in a seperate adapter meant for composite audio and video (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-BN39-01154W-Cable-CBF-Signal/dp/B005DNSCNG/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_y). Now it is working all good to go. Really weird though. Thanks for all the help

HPS is somewhat efficient.. reaching up to 100 lumens/watt, but it's still inefficient compared to LEDs. One good benefit of HPS is that it will generate heat if you need a heating aspect at the same time.

I would definitely recommend samsung F series LED strips if you want great full spectrum light with high efficiency. 1 of these: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/samsung-semiconductor-inc/SI-B8T521560WW/1510-2223-ND/6624007

would give you over 9.9k lumens at about 192 lumens/watt, running at about ~55w. The strip is $26 and the power supply is only $20 for the high quality meanwell ones (https://www.amazon.com/MEAN-WELL-LPV-60-24-DRIVER-AC-DC/dp/B0180X3SRK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511761666&sr=8-3)

You can probably even cut that in half if you wanted a no name power supply. ~$55 should cover almost everything including a u-channel as a heatsink.

Get something between 3000k-5000k in temperature - this will depend on the crop and whether you're looking for more vegetative growth or more fruiting type growth.

I think on your tv it’s called dimming zones, try turning that to low. I would keep the eco settings off. I use some built in bias lights on my entertainment center now, but I was using these before https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LG99NXI?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title&th=1

u/Nemothewhale87 · 1 pointr/OLED

I have that exact TV and here is the led backlight I used. Fits perfectly.

There's not enough space underneath the mainboard to hide the TCON board, and the cable between the mainboard and panel controller seems to be a generic LVDS cable rather than a data cable. I also see what is potentially an AUO branded chip just below the heatsink, so I would assume the TCON board is part of the mainboard.

Your other submissions mention audio but no video. With that in mind, I would consider your diagnosis correct in that it is a TCON issue.

I can't read the model number from your image, but the mainboard looks like a LWZQVIBS model - note that this model is incompatible with LWZQVIDS devices, with the exception of parts produced by Tekbyus - as shown here: https://www.amazon.com/Tekbyus-791-01J10-0011-Main-Board-E55-E2/dp/B074KPRC4B

Be mindful to match by the part number, rather than the model number, as regional variations are hardcoded into this model.

I would also check voltages and amperages from the hot side of the PSU (be careful!). This could be the underlying issue that caused the problem in the first place.

I have to use this product to adapt a coax cord to work with my tv, it doesn't have a normal input due to some BS need to be "thin"

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-BN39-01154P-Cbf-Signal-Rf-Ntsc/dp/B00AKD6QZ0

u/Berkut22 · 1 pointr/DIY

If your TV has a USB slot, why not get one of these

I have the white (non-RGB) one and it works flawlessly. For the price, I'd say it's worth a shot. You can ask your questions on Amazon about the color being retained after power down.

USB on the TV means it turns on and off automatically with your TV, or you can plug it into a cheap wall wart and use the remote.

u/DiDgr8 · 1 pointr/AndroidTV

If you want an "Ambilight" experience, just get a Luminoodle.

u/Zapablast05 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I use one of these for bias lighting for my monitor. RGB and has a remote.
