I've been dealing with this recently as well. My wife commented a few times that I may be giving away too much information lol. So I looked around and Speedo has a pair of lightweight swim trunks with compression short lining. They are awesome. They're comfortable, and they hide the bulge way better. They also preform much better in the water than board shorts (I love swimming, and did some competitions when I was younger).

To be clear, there's still a bulge, but the shape isn't as clear and it's less noticeable because of the looser shorts on top. You'll never really get rid of the bulge, but I think this is a good alternative.

Now, If I were single, I'd wear something that shows it off, but I'm old fashioned.

Your head is in the right place. You won't get sent home your first class, but you should buy some board shorts or something if you're going to stick with it. Those linked below have worked well for me and are reasonably priced--and I like the lack of logos.

They look short enough to show off the quads without being ridiculous, but I'm not sure if I have the legs for it.

Maybe these? Comfortable, lightweight, both side pockets have zips. Still too cold to wear shorts where I am right now so I've done little more than try them on, but I'm sure I'll get to test them properly soon.

I was just about to buy a pair of these shorts based on your recommendation, till I saw they were only in XXL. WTF?

Hanes jersey shorts with pockets. Super cheap ($7) so I have a pair for every workout day. Fall above the knee so easy to squat or pull in. Roomy on the legs. Downside? They’re probably not super “fashionable” but I lift alone in a home gym so I don’t care.
