Many people don't realize how crazy it is to WANT to be chained to the wall with proprietary non-replaceable batteries (NRB's) that force you to buy a new device when they fail on a predetermined schedule. You can either play, or you can charge. Which would you rather pay to do? You can be either wireless without wires, or wireless with wires. Which would you rather pay to have?

Rechargeable AA batteries exist. I recommend you get these ones:

So, I got these sticks from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00UCXKA78?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

I put them into my SN30 Pro+, and this is what it all looks like:

They actually work quite well, but yeah, there is some rubbing up on the controller on the inside, specifically whenever I'm moving the sticks down and to the left. (Originally, they got stuck so much that they were unusable, but rotating them 180 degrees allowed them to function.) I love having them in there, enough that I don't think that I'm going to go back to the stock plastic/rubber ones, but just keep in mind that they're not perfect. It's SO close, too; if I click the sticks in to press L3 or R3 and then move them all around, there's no rubbing at all. If only there were a way of dropping the board in the controller down by half a millimeter or so, everything would be perfect.

You could get the older version of the SF30 Pro, it's still available on Amazon:

SF30 Pro:

SN30 Pro:

Both of these models were the first controllers I bought from 8bitdo. They both work great, though I did have to do the tape fix in order to make the D-pad do diagonal directions properly. (Pretty much all 8bitdo controllers do this. I had to do it to my SN30 controllers as well.)

I'm still waiting for the SN30 Pro+ to come out, but their website says that was supposed to release over five months ago. Instead of waiting for newer models, I say just find what looks good to you and buy now.

If you are going to be exclusively using it as an Xbox controller, I'd recommend just picking up a regular Xbox controller, as it's much easier and has proper triggers. The Xbox Wireless Controller also now has Bluetooth so you don't need dongles.

The FC/NES30 Pro is only really useful as a portable controller for your phone and for retro games.

Thanks for your response. That sounds like it may be a good workaround, though I don't have access to a Wiimote at the moment, so that's an additional expense... But it's a good idea.

I'm thinking it actually looks like this version of the controller is the one I'm looking for?

Seems to be a slightly older model that isn't on their website, but is marketed as being PC bluetooth compatible, so maybe I'll give it a try. Hopefully it will work with a superNT in the future, I'm considering getting one.

Edit: I'm going to give this method a go with the newer 2.4G model and see if I can fool Windows into thinking it is a WiiController... I'll report back my findings for science.

Geek Theory 8Bitdo SN30 Pro Bluetooth Controller (SN Edition) Bundle - Includes Bonus Carrying Case - for Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac OS & Android https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HGK27M4/ref=cm_sw_r_other_taa_kHwWDbZACKPC5

Comes in original packaging with case.

u/zodiacsoldier · 3 pointsr/8bitdo

Here are pictures of all 3 planned one right now with the system they are based off of.

I'm debating between the Gameboy and SNES one myself, if the SNES one had the two different color buttons like SN30 Pro, i would have bought it for sure.

>. Still the same button shapes and Dpad shapes as OEM, but maybe like a hair's difference on the Dpad ball or something.

So.. of these two

https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-SF30-Controller-Windows-macOS-Android/dp/B0748S3GXG/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=8bitdo%2Bsf30&qid=1554184991&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1

Which do you think I should get?
For some reason, the old version - which I think would be of higher demand - is cheaper than the new version.

I just got these today and tossed them onto my OG SN30 Pro. The fit like a glove and work well. I tried contacting 8bitdo but I have no idea how long it'd take. From here I heard between 6-8 weeks. I reached out to them on May 22 and still haven't gotten any yet. You could probably go cheaper or stretch your money further with a pack of about 6. If i'd have, known i'd have replaced them months ago. But I read that DS4 sticks wont fit due to sitting higher or something and you'd have to file the stick down or something.

Of the new revisions, the SN (purple, SNES-styled) is released and the G (maroon, Game Boy-styled)

Both are listed here.

8bitdo recently released a new version of the M30 2.4G that comes with a USB receiver: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XPHP57T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-rUVDbJK68CPT

You can also get the version of the M30 2.4G with Sega Genesis receiver and combine it with a Raphnet adapter: https://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/db9joy_usb_v2/index.php

and

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HB1XFQW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_vAUVDbK3NW9KV

This second option is twice as expensive, but it lets you use your controller on both PC and Sega Genesis.

I saw in another thread on this subreddit that some were using PS4 controller cases for the SN30 Pro+.

Here's the case that was linked, I bookmarked it for future use. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LB4KJ8Q/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_0NBxDb72VB5GR

u/Linuxdirk · 1 pointr/8bitdo

It is this one: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0748S3GXG

Model: 80DB

It is NOT possible to pair it with the retro receiver currently available.

The 80DB variant is discontinued (due to legal reasons) and unsupported (due to being discontinued) anyways.

The adapter is working properly (was able to pair other 8ButDo controlers) and the SF30 Pro is working, too, because I was able to pair it with a Raspberry Pi running RetroPie (horrible input lag, though).

u/seluropnek · 1 pointr/8bitdo

I have a pair of Bluetooth stereo speakers that look similar (and honestly might be practically the same internally except for the skin), and you can only plug the auxillary cable into one speaker and the other pairs wirelessly to it - connecting directly to the same device isn't supported. Never got them to work right for more then a few minutes at a time since they drift out of sync (and generally sound a lot worse than this old Jambox speaker I have by itself for music), so they've been relegated to the tech junk drawer of purgatory.

If you do figure it out, let me know because I might want to be able to figure out something to do with those crappy speakers. It would probably involve cracking them open and rewiring a passthrough or something though.
