I used this kind of pin. I dipped the ball end in rubbing alcohol and used it to make drops of the paper to create the circles/bubbles.

It's adjustable and only like 2 feet tall. Part of it broke while I was putting it together though. The bar that goes across the middle on the bottom is held on by pegs and one of the pegs broke so how it's held on with zip ties. Which seems to be working fine.
