Riding in temps above 100degs just seems unnatural.(doesn't stop me from riding)
I tell my cage dwelling friends it's like driving with someone holding a hair drier in front of you.

I've been thinking about getting one of the cooling vests to try out this summer.
This one has good reviews and is priced pretty fair.

Consider getting one of these Frogg Togg Chilly Pads. I used one last summer riding through the arizona desert, and they make ALL the difference in the world, I promise. Also, the Frogg Togg brand towels are vastly superior to the knock-off brands. My dad and brother each had some no-name brand cooling towels, and theirs were always bone dry while mine was still moist and cool.

I rode a naked FZ6 as my first bike, and yes, the buffeting is always an issue. That said, the addition of even a small windscreen does help a lot to keep the wind off of your chest. Something like this. Helmets are a least a little aerodynamic. Chests are not.

After you complete the MSF course, almost all local places (i.e. woods) will give you a gear discount (5-15%) if you bring your completion certificate in. Depending on how much you were planning on spending on your helmet, this can be a significant savings, and worth wearing a 'used' helmet for a few days. You will be so focused on developing your motorcycle skills you will completely forget how many people have used the helmet - it really isnt that bad.

If you are really OCD about germs, you can get a headsock, but they arent very fun in hot weather.

As far as boots, anything will work. The steel toe shouldn't get in the way. Shifting definitely rubs the top of the toe area on boots, so dont wear anything you dont want scuffed up.

Ever considered a small suction base vise? If you have a flat & clean enough surface on your tank, they work well and are pretty versatile on angles. I don't use mine for that but I use it for soldering all the time, and have thrown it on my tank to hold tools or brake fluid reservoirs and it's never fallen off.

I'm looking to de rust a GS-850 tank and picked up some of this as it is said to be non acidic and biodegradable, I'll try it out first probably get a filter like 420FARTBOSS said.

other than that I was looking at the red-kote as well but seemed a bit more involved https://www.amazon.com/Red-Kote-Quart-Sealer-Diesel/dp/B009X0JOSM

I just posted a few photos to imgur. Grom Gopro mounting

The camera is a gopro 5 black, set to linear view (no distortion).

Oh, when I was looking for gopro mounting extensions, I found this set on amazon: 3-extension set
I'm using the longest extension (~4").

I bought a sealable plastic container from Autozone . Drain the oil into a pan, then pour the pan into the container. Any auto parts store will have an oil dump where you can empty the container.

What kind of bike needs a lift for an oil change?

SCREW EXTRACTORS ARE RISKY!!!! They can and do break on machine parts, just come look at my poor, (currently) useless bike if you don't believe me.

But there is a similar and better alternative:

Good luck, broken bolts suck.
