I'm going to be totally honest. 99.9999% of the time putting rims on a car like this just looks really silly. Everyone has different taste but in my experience doing things like that to an economy car like this is a waste of money. Unless they are very simple factory looking rims it just looks tacky. Also if you end up getting large rims it's going to have lower profile tires and mess with the ride on a car that wouldn't benefit in any way from lower profile tires.

I know these cars well I dated a girl that had one and had a good friend that had one. I put in a basic stereo for her so she could have an aux input and better sound. I only replaced the existing speakers with higher quality polk speakers, a JCV head unit and used a wiring harness adapter with face plate kit we ordered online. Personally beyond that I don't know what else you would want to do.

If you were going to do anything to this car a simple stereo upgrade would be the best place to start if you're going to replace the stereo regardless. Something like this head unit would help spruce things up and give you a modern stereo with bluetooth. That with some new speakers and maybe a small sub with amp would be a massive upgrade over factory. Stereo work is pretty simple if you're competent person and can follow instructions. Replacing the head unit using a wiring harness kit is a very doable task. Just follow the hundreds of online guides available. If I personally owned this car besides a head unit upgrade I would leave it mostly stock since most modifications just look silly on this type of vehicle. Just appreciate that you have a clean, reliable car that takes you from point A to B without having to drive a rusted out beater that attracts negative attention.

I bought one of these for an ABS code, was a great investment. Cheaper than a diagnostic and turns out the fix on my 08' charger was just tightening a bolt for the steering angle sensor.

It's $100.00, but well supported, still updated, and the support that you call is a real person every time (sorry I sound like a shill, but I had to call them because my sensor froze, turns out it wasn't plugged in all the way).

Requires a mobile phone, but can definitely give freeze frame / live o2 sensor data.

You can clear a check engine code with one of those $20 WiFi or Bluetooth OBDII code readers and an app. Not sure if it can clear the other lights but it’s worth a try.

Edit: I have this one

Some info on the brake pin... I was able to find a part number for it. Confirmed that this is what's on the brake pedal. I don't think reusing it would be a good idea if Chilton's website says not to, what do you think?

If you are a serious DIYer, I would get ac Actron CP9680

It has a test feature to do a self test for fog emissions (if it can communicate with your car).

It can also give you live data to see the long/short term fuel trims.

Don't split the power from your existing outlet.

Buy a fuse box tap - It lets you add another fuse to the fuse box. So you find a fuse thats already switched with power, replace it with the tap, and hook your outlet's positive power lead to that. Then ground the negative lead to something metal. When I did the same thing I bought a splitter with 2 12v outlets and 2 usb outlets so I could power my dashcam, radar detector, and 2 phones for the same amount of work.

Fuse Tap

Cigarette lighter adapter - cut off the end

3M. Do NOT use super glue!!!

This tape will work too. Also available in 1/2 inch. Follow the instructions to the letter.
