Most, not all, of these other responses are more in line with "why" quit gaming or how to balance it, but your question is HOW did I quit.
So here's the framework, then following that are my personal steps.
Framework 1: If you remove 5 hours of gaming, you don't have to replace it with 5 hours of super productive life habits. I removed 5-6 hours of gaming a day but it enabled me to add 1-2 hours of health/fitness, and some time to eat better, then I slept an hour earlier, etc., but I still dicked around and did useless shit for 2-3 hours of that 5 hours of previous gaming time. It doesn't have to be 1:1 bad habit removal to amazing habit add in. I still sit on Twitch and zone out for an hour or two here and there while I browse the internet, but it's easy to put it down and go to the gym or not wait until I'm starving to eat, which makes it easier to eat better.
Framework 2: Identify your level of addiction. Mine is a proper addiction. I think I can reinstall and play within reason today...for a week...a month...6 months...but at SOME point I fall off the wagon and to the bottom of the well. So I have to legit just straight up accept that I don't have the discipline to play in moderation like other people.
Framework 3: With any habit you have to analyze what it is rooted in. In my gaming habit it was a few things:
So here's what I did...
On my spreadsheet I have had days where I ate like shit or drank or missed days in a row of the gym. Far from perfect. My reading habit hasn't taken hold like I wanted it to. But I'm fucking HAPPIER. And you know what column is PERFECT in my spreadsheet? The gaming one. That's my keystone habit. That's my FIRST domino. Find yours and make incremental, deliberate changes.
Message me if you wanna chat, I got your back.
PS: Read this: https://www.amazon.com/Power-Habit-What-Life-Business/dp/081298160X
Breakfast: Oats, Egg Whites, Mass gainer, Kashi Go Lean cereal, Water
Lunch: Chicken Breast/Tuna/Salmon/Trout, mixed vegetables, Mass gainer, Juice
Dinner: Tuna/Salmon/Trout/Chicken Breast, more vegetables, Mass gainer*, Juice
Now my diet was and is very repetitive and boring, and to be honest I was limited to a budget so I couldn't go harder on my diet but above is a basic version of it.
My portions are decently sized and it took my sometimes more than an hour to eat all of this when I was starting out, I had little appetite and would get full easy so I just sat down at the table and focused on finishing everything, I tried to make sure I was full at all times except before the gym.
I only listed 3 meals here but those were the big 3, I would eat in between as well.
My mass gainer was: Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass + whole milk + 2-3 Bananas + 1 tbsp Honey
The mass gainer had the most fat/carbs but it really helped put on size fast, and i'm well aware I had an excess of protein, drinking a good amount of water was also key.
Hope that helps.
I alternate different ones based on recommendations and price. I think C4 was good just had to stick to the 2 scoops, face itched a bit though.
Currently using GAT preworkout mostly because it was on sale and I was entertaining the Vitamin Shoppe guy with his rhetoric about the testosterone building riff raff he talked about.
To me, it's just stronger coffee that tastes sweet. Gives me a boost for my workouts when I feel sluggish. No super human strength or better lifts.
As for protein, I've been using it less when i was cutting, i realized that I felt fuller eating solid food. I may crack open the ON Double Chocolate during this bulk if my weight doesn't increase fast enough.
Thanks fam, I greatly appreciate it!
My buddy, who is slightly shorter than me did the same route that I did from 230-ish to 180 (which is my end goal), and he ended up using this bluetooth scale and app called FIT-INDEX which he recommended to me and I'm using now.
The scale is here if you're interested: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078HW8BPY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The convenient thing is that it connects with fitbit, myfitnesspal, and apple health, so I never have to touch those three apps and manually update my weight. I just pop on the scale and have it update all the platforms.
One thing to note, don't have your phone in your hand because it will throw the weight off. I weighed myself one day and found out I was 0.5 lbs heavier and got upset. Turned out my phone weighs 0.5 lbs.
Hey dude, I replied with my workout plan in a different comment here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0088XS44K?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_yo_pop_mb_pd_t2
But if you’re trying to work a certain set of muscles, I’d recomend working on that 2-3 times a week. Maybe even throw some bicep workouts in with your back day, or triceps with your chest day. Go check out some youtube videos or the other workouts on the site I linked in the other comment. You want to find some basic exercises that you feel comfortable with. Then keep the weight to a minimum/moderate weight. There’s no reason to go heavy for every lift. You want to focus on having proper form, getting the proper contractions on the muscles, and keeping the intensity high. Good luck!
That screenshot is from google spreadsheets. I export from my app to that spreadsheet and it updates the charts.

Thats the scale I have, but there are lots like it. I paid $31 for it, so $22 is a good deal on prime.
Just a bit of recommendation, have you tried tea tree oil? I had a lot of acne problems, none to be solved by everything I tried, which was almost everything under the sun, but when I discovered fragrance free tea tree oil products everything cleared up amazingly.

http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE215-K-Sound-Monitor-Black/dp/B004PNZFZ8 GET THESE NOW IF YOUR BUDGET ALLOWS IT. Hands down the best earphones I have used for exercise and I have experimented with many.
The Adidas power lift shoes are quite reasonably priced.

But really, any flat soled shoe with a raised heel will do. I'm sure you could find a good deal if you searched a bit.
So I know it's not accurate to anything but to itself. But I use this: Weight Gurus Wifi Smart Connected Body Fat Scale with Large Backlit LCD (White + Stainless) (Off-white) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IFYLAR4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0q2PCb5R2F59M
http://www.amazon.com/Rehband-7051-7mm-Knee-Sleeve/dp/B0088KPT64
I really only use them for heavy squats and cleans. They do provide a nice amount of support.
For other things I use http://store.hookgrip.com/shop/black-red-hookgrip-knee-sleeves/ just to keep the knees warm. They don't provide support but they are $14 for a pair vs $45 each for the Rehband sleeves.
I basically follow this timer.
http://www.intervaltimer.com/timers/3094136
Sometimes I mix it up and just go fast and slow on my own whim.
and I use this bike in my basement. For $130 dollars, can't go wrong.
My routine consists of two simple workout sessions:
|Workout A|Workout B|
|:-----------|:-----------|
|Squat 5x5|Deadlift ~5x5|
|Overhead Press 5x5|Benchpress 5x5|

As accessories, you can do what you want! I have the book "Strength Training Anatomy - 2nd Edition" and just picked a few ones out.
Aimlessly lifting weights in an ad-hoc sort of pseudo-isolation sort of way and running a couple of times a week. Had no idea what I was doing.
Then I found a post that linked to this and started following it to a T: Linear Progression PPL for Beginners
Then got the “Bigger Leaner Stronger” book on Amazon and am now following that to the letter : BLS link on Amazon
This is the one I have. You simply add the water, add some rice, add in the tray then put the meat in it and the seasoning from the meat will drop down and be enough to season the rice usually. You can also add broccoli/spinach with the meat on the tray and steam them at the same time for a meal with rice/meat and veggiesss
