Red's Story by Red Storey

Not entirely about the CFL, but Red Storey played for the Argos, won two Grey Cups, played pro hockey and lacrosse, and reffed in the NHL for almost 500 games, including seven straight Stanley Cup finals. It's a great read.

Hey sevenyearsx,

three things that might help in your search
1.this book might have some resources for that era 1981-1983 era
for the Argonauts.
https://www.amazon.com/Argo-Bounce-Jay-Teitel/dp/0886190339

2.you might want to tweet this man(Paul Woods) who also wrote a book and was intimately involved with that team for that year.

if the link doesn't work just type Paul Woods Toronto football Twitter in Google.

3. you might want to tweet this guy(Drew Edwards) who is the current beat writer for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

He might be able to get you in contact with Bob(Obie)O'Billovich.
O'Billovich was the head coach for the Argonauts that season.
He currently lives in the area.He might be available for an interview. He did a previous interview for the ESPN 30 for 30 film on Conredge Holloway(see below) just to give you a rough idea.

by the way Conredge Holloway was the Quarterback for that
team.He currently works for the University of Tennessee Athletic Department. He might be able to provide some insight for that training camp.
As far as footage for preseason games of that area. You might not have much luck. The CFL's television partners did not produce pre-season games during this era.I know you might be shaking your head reading that but The NFL teams of that era were inconsistent in broadcast of preseason games as well. You might want to contact Newton Minnow on Youtube see below

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjZtygM6Gk8GvNBTshfVnrQ
HE might be able get some coach's films(usually black and white for that era).
Other than that best of luck on your journey.

I don't know what specific studies Mr. Longhair was talking about specifically, but I'm pretty sure he's referring to the work of Roger Noll, a Stanford professor emeritus in economics and a former senior economist for the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. The economics of sports is/was one of his research focuses and he wrote a book in 1997 on the subject of taxes to fund stadiums and their economic impact. He's the go-to expert that journalists, local and national, turn to when they're writing pieces on the public funding of stadiums.

Yes, and if you want a great read I strongly recommend "End Zones and Border Wars" by Ed Willes.

Thanks. I actually have Dunigan's book and I'm sure there will be some interesting chapters about that (and the 700+ yard game, which must be the one you were referring to, July 14, 1994).

Hey, there are worse things you can put in there.

Speaking of sticking cheesy things into other things, anyone heard from Ratty lately?

That guy's a hero in New York for stopping a crazy maniac killer on the subway trains. He even wrote a book about the scary incident.
