Are you using an NPT or triclamp style tube? If you're using NPT (national pipe thread, american pipes in inches basically) you can get a brass NPT ball valve, a reducer to put into the valve for a smaller thread size, and another brass piece, this time a 1/4" flared end for gas. You'll need teflon pipe threading tape to seal everything up and a vice grip or a couple of pipe wrenches to put the thing together. You can get all of this on amazon.

If you have a device like in picture with triclamp ends you'd already know where to get all of this crap but and sell all the triclamp pieces you will ever need. Glacier Tanks is in oregon and supports the CLS extractor community directly by selling pre-fabbed terpinator style lids and collection pots, Brewers Hardware has a bunch of stuff they don't carry though as well. I've used both and they are awesome. Brewers Hardware also has lower prices on a lot of stuff like the spools you'll be using as extraction tubes, and they sell the national pipe thread to triclamp ends that I'm gonna need to modify my own old open blast tubes (my 1-2 and 3-5oz tubes depending on material and how tight it packs) into CLS parts. I have a calculator setup i've figured out though for how big of a tube can fit how much material for CLS use though. a 3"x18" spool fits about a half pound (bhogart sells a 3"x36" as their 1LB unit and it fits roughly that), so I figured out its volume from there and I can figure out how big of a tube will fit say 1oz, 2 ounces, and so on. you don't need perfectly filled tubes with CLS extractors either, you can fluff the top with coffee filters so the butane disperses evenly on the top, and typically in a shower style unit like the Bhogart, the top few inches don't get properly extracted anyways if you fill it all the way to the brim. I try to leave 2-3 inches at the top of the 36" column bare so it can just shower down and it seems to work really well, but with a narrower tube size you will probably be okay.

IF you got this far, you also are going to want a can cracker. You can use it on the top of the pipe in lieu of the brass hose hookup by screwing it directly to the top, but you need to make sure you get the right fittings for it. It looks like the crackers they sell all have the 1/4" flare end facing the wrong angle, so you'll probably need the hose after all. here's the cracker and a link to the right type of hose, as well as a link to one of the fitting types (though maybe not in the right NPT thread you need).

PTFE lined chemical hose buying list. you want 1/4":

the style of brass end you need:

brass coupler to put the end into:

something to put the brass coupler into to make it fit your valve:
2" brass valve:

ptfe tape:

after reading around, you said your pipe was 2" so i modified the list with everything you'd need to modify a 2" pipe.

These are much nicer tubes for about the same price. They come with a three pack of micron screens and a clamp. The one you linked to those are all extra.

I would not get anything cheaper or smaller than the provac you linked to. It's a great starter chamber and a good value.

That pump is not ideal. It is rated at 500u. Not enough for proper extracts. You really don't want to skimp out on the vac. It's extremely important to ensure properly purged oil. IMHO the minimum you want to be looking at is the Robinair 15300 but if it were me I'd spend a couple extra bucks and get the Robinair 15500. I own the 15550 and it works great! It's also probably the best value on the market right now at the price amazon is selling them.

I'd also advise picking up a roll of Oil Slick Sheet. You can blast right on to it. It works well for small runs.

As far as your tek, watch this video and do it just like shown and you'll be golden!

Butane torches, I've loved my Newport (it comes in other colors if gold isn't your thing). My guy has one of those and a Blazer Big Shot which is nice as well. Both have stood the test of time. The Newport you can operate with one hand, the Big Shot is possible to operate with one hand but slightly more difficult. I ordered a 6-pack of Newport butane with my torch and it's performed wonderfully. A cheap Bernzomatic torch from Home Depot will conk out on you, so just factor that in to whether you want to make another trip to pick up a new torch in 6 months, or buy a slightly more expensive one that'll last twice as long if not longer.

If you're going the propane route and have a TI nail, just make sure you don't overheat your nail. Titanium reacts with oxygen when it reaches a certain temperature, creating titanium oxide (the white coating you see on some TI nails) and titanium dioxide dust, which you can inhale and is definitely not good for you. You can reach this temp with butane or propane, but because propane burns about 1000 degrees (F) hotter than butane, you can reach that temp much easier. Those big blue propane tanks at Home Depot run about $5 though, if you're looking for a cheap and efficient route.

I wouldn’t say there’s a lot of debate over decarbing. It’s pretty well agreed upon that if you’re going to put your extract in a cart then you need to decarb so that you 1. have an extract that’s fluid enough to wick on your cart and 2. prevent your extract from crystallizing in the cart.

If you wanna take some of the guess work out of decarbing, don’t do it before your extraction. Once you have your extract you can decarb it at 200f and instead of using a timer you can watch it bubble. As the extract decarb a you can visually see the carbon dioxide bubbling out. So once almost all of the bubbling is gone, your extract is finished decarbing and you should have a less dark concentrate.

Dry ice is what you want. Not liquid nitrogen. Nitrogen will freeze your got damn hand off. So will dry ice, but not if you’re wearing some thick gloves haha it’s like 2 dollars a pound where I live and for something small scale you should use too much.

Vacuum filtration is a MUST. You don’t necessarily need an expensive vacuum pump for this, instead you can get away with a faucet aspirator . They are pretty cheap and let you get enough of a vacuum to filter. You can get away without vacuum filtering on high micron filters without a lot of sediment, but if you want to do low micron like you mentioned or get into carbon filtering gravity filtration can take hours.

Those liquifiers can contain some real garbage in them. Pg, Vg, PEG, mct oil (mineral oil based on some independent testing of True Terpenes supposed “100% natural terpenes blend”) and who knows what else because MOST OF THEM WON’T TELL YOU. It’s a proprietary blend. If you can afford it get a blend of terpenes. Floraplex actually offers msds sheets for their products, so you know what’s in it. Mass terpenes does not do this, but they get a lot of support from the community along with Mr. Extractor. Mass terpenes and floraplex are quite affordable too!

This has been asked a thousand times, at least twice this past week. Please use the search next time. Anyway I'll just copy and paste my last response:

I would go for this chamber:

If not this one, then a stainless steel one, the bell plastic chambers are not good if you have a heat pad or something in it.

Go for this vac pump:
You could get one cheaper there on amazon or eBay, it's up to you, but I recommend a 3 CFM pump or higher.

This hot plate is battery powered, fits in the chamber, and can keep a pretty good constant low temp:
Hopefully this gets you started in the right direction, there are many many options for a nice vac set up, I'm sure if you look around you'll find good deals.

This is the complete set up.

And here is how to use it.

Bret Maverick has some good info on dewaxing.

As for those screens, i tend to question anything that i can see through. I cant tell you that those wont work. If they really are 25 micron then there is no arguing with that. The best reusable filter medium ive used is boro wool. As well as that i use the ashless paper filters.

Im honestly not sure what the exact ratio is for alcohol to oil but its an easy google search. Just make sure you use enough alcohol. Which is easy. Just use a bunch lol. Too much won't negatively effect it where too little will. Check out a few of those videos though. Buchners are easy to use but also easy to mess up.

Hey guys! I decided to write this guide because someone suggested I do it. Plus I see a lot of people asking how this stuff is produced and asking for tips and tricks, so I decided to write out all the knowledge I have that I can think of. This should be considered a guide on how to start from scratch, so if you have your own setup that works well you probably won't really learn anything new from this.

Secondly, remember that this is as much an art as it is a science, just like cooking. There are certain scientific principles we apply to get a better product, but in the end a good end result can come in multiple ways and is also all relative. Don't be discouraged by your mistakes and don't think your way or even this way is the only right one.

So without further ado, here's my guide for how to make BHO sap or shatter, mostly focusing on how to do it without a vacuum pump and desiccator.

What you will need

The great part is that a lot of this stuff can be got at bed bath and beyond. That would be my first stop.

  1. Butane creme brule torch, a heat gun, or a CLEAN hair dryer (advice against this as it blows dust and doesn't get very hot). Alternatively you can use a sharp dabbing tool. These all work for popping bubbles.

  2. Oblong pyrex.

  3. A second, larger oblong pyrex to suspend the first one in, or a deep electric skillet. This will be your heat source.

  4. A stainless steel turkey baster. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, a glass tube works well instead. Go for the smaller size ones if you are looking to do micro runs.

  5. 50u mesh screen and a coffee filter. Two coffee filters have worked for me with no blowouts but they do increase your risk of blowouts. Unbleached coffee filters fyi.

  6. Zip ties or steel clamps. Zip ties and a rubber band for glass (don't reuse), steel clamp for stainless steel.

  7. a. Razor blades and a moderate sized paint scraper. If you're like me and prefer the inert pyrex route finding a good paint scraper to go with your constant cycle of razor blades is going to be key. Look around and experiment.*

  8. An oven or toaster oven with a warm setting. The hot water bath will not be enough to get the residual solvent out when going vacless, at least if you don't want to be waiting for a day or more. If you have the patience, go that route by all means because low and slow is better, but many do not.

  9. Butane. Discussed below.

  10. Materials. Discussed below.

  11. A roll of parchment paper.

  12. Paper towels. Fold it into a rectangle and wrap it around your tube while you're extracting. Oven mits are a little clumsy to work with.

*Out of interest of presenting all the facts, some people swear by concentrate pads. They're unnecessary though. Parchment is better in my opinion and you should get used to using it because it's much better for heat transfer in a vac. That's my opinion though, people vac with slick pads and slick sheets all the time.

The reason I put this as an addition to the razor blade/paint scraper section is that it's actually an alternative to using those, because you can blast right onto it. But again, heat transfer. you're going to get more temp variation here because you'll have to go a little higher than you would normally because the pad absorbs heat.

    General concerns

I think overwhelmingly the biggest things people are worried about when it comes to butane is its explosion risk, which is considerable. This is why you should NEVER blast butane indoors. It only takes a presence of 2% butane in the air for it to be a considerable explosion risk, and it will pool on the floor being lighter than air. So beware of lighters, running motors, electronic anything, some people even say cotton.

Generally though we do not purge butane because of health risk. We purge for a different reason entirely: taste and quality. Butane is not very toxic at all, so there is no reason to fear the very minor amount of it found in even poorly purged hash oil. The vast majority of our process is not spent taking out large amounts of solvent, but residual amounts.

  13. Pack the tube tight. Use two coffee filters or a coffee filter and a 50u mesh screen. Break down your bud into popcorn nugs but don’t grind. Leave no air pockets whatsoever. For sugar leaf make sure it’s fresh and don’t pack stems or fan leaves. After you pack it, cut off the extra part of the filter without cutting too close to the zip tie and put it in the freezer for 30 minutes.

  14. Go outside with your clean (don’t be lazy) collection dish and put it on a level surface.

  15. Take the proper fitting (may need to experiment) for your specific injection point and pass butane through your column, in 7 second bursts, laying off for 15-25 second intervals. This allows for maximum yield, and since butane is non-polar you will not have to worry about the soak times.

  16. When it starts to get to the filter, hold it about ½ in to an inch over the collection dish. Tips for step 3: do not put your head/clothes over the dish, and do not release pressure off the column over the dish. This will contaminate the bho with particulates.

  17. Let the liquid butane evaporate at room temperature until it forms large bubbles that do not produce movement. It is safe to take indoors for the rest of the purge.

  18. Suspend it on the electric skillet filled with vegetable oil or water on the warm setting. This is what I would suggest as it will be a consistent heat source for people that are not using a vacuum. Alternatively you can fill a large pyrex with the hottest water your sink can produce, and suspend your collection dish in that hot water. However I have used the electric skillet method and it works well. You can also skip to step 8.

  19. Pop bubbles with the butane torch on the lowest setting. Also effective: heat gun, dabber.

  20. Once there is no more movement, put it in the oven at the lowest setting possible (perfect temperature is 120 but 130-160 works). If it only goes down to 200F, or even 180F, I would not suggest going this method. Instead, use a toaster oven. Only expose it for 10 minutes.

  21. Pull the dish out and pop the bubbles with torch/heat gun/dabber. Go back to step 8 if needed. Repeat until there are no more bubbles after step 8.

  22. After this you should be done. Take the dish and put it on the heat bath. Take your razor blade or paint scraper and scrape it up onto parchment paper.

  23. Dab it up to see if it’s ready. Make sure there are no hoppers, sparks, loud crackles and sizzles.

Many people believe that it is absolutely necessary to have a vacuum pump. This is not necessarily true; it simply expedites the process of purging. Think of the purging process as “revealing” the flavor of your oil rather than explicitly improving it somehow. There are a set amount of molecules inside the resin. When you degas it, you are degassing butane and terpenes both.

You can test this is two ways. Weigh out the patty before you put it in the desiccator or degassing chamber. At the end of your purging you will notice about a 5-8% reduction in the weight of your oil. Second, when you open up your desiccator after degassing, you will be met with the stink of evaporated terpenes (since it smells like the bud that you ran). I cannot be sure, but I believe this proves that you are evaporating out terps at a steady rate in the vac.

This is all speculation, and seems like an obtuse way to look at the vac part of purging, but you can’t discount the fact that there is a set amount of cannaboids in your oil, and only a set amount of terpenes, so if they are evaporating at a higher rate, then you should want to expose your oil to less vaccing rather than making it the primary part of your process.

What I advocate is using your desiccator to purge out the residual solvent, not to take a shortcut with your oil. If that’s what you’re looking for, you can use it like that, but it will lead to more auto-buddering, less flavorful oil, and most importantly your process and philosophy will always be the number one factor in quality. Meaning if you want to take shortcuts all the time, you’re going to end up with poor or lesser quality oil and probably not know why.

What you want out of a vac is simple. As close to 50 micron rating or lower, two stage pump. CFM is not necessarily important, because of the tubing that tends to be used for most vac pump-desiccator setups. A desiccator may be glass, plastic, or stainless steel, however make sure you get it from a reputable source. No mason jar desiccators, that’s one way to get an implosion. Another is if you apply heat to the outside of your desiccator, especially when using plastic or glass (although steel still has a significant implosion risk).

The way I apply heat is by using preheated ceramic tiles underneath my oil, and heating it up with the heat gun on the lowest setting right before I turn on the vacuum. If you do not apply heat you are not purging!
u/brohemith · 3 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

As others have said, PTFE sheets are the best way to go. Something like these;

Being able to blast, heat purge, and then transfer to vacuum all in one pan makes the entire process go a lot easier. It especially helps in giving a nice, even patty so all of it purges equally.

Just winterize it, use a cheap vacuum pump and get a 40$ Buchner off Amazon they come with the filter paper, hose and everything you’ll need, dissolve the finger hash into warm ethanol let it cool and add dry ice when it’s done reacting run it through the filter. Evap the ethanol and you’re left with a concentrate that is plant matter free.

There are much better methods to do this, like freezing the material over 24hrs with dry ice, but, this is super fast and you’ll be done in just a few hours.

Here’s a link to a filter on amazon super cheap and easy.

Filter Flask Set, 500ml with...

u/BillClintonIsMyNigga · -5 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

I added an image and now it does not show my text post.. Here it is again:

Looking at this specifically.

I have a 90g closed column pressurized extractor from Extraction Experts. ( It includes:
Main Stainless Steel herb fill column.
1 top lid with valve and 3/8 gas flare fitting.
1 bottom lid with valve and fine barb exit port.
1 50 micron screen.
1 150 micron screen.
2 clamps to secure each lid.

The question:

  1. How does this can tapper work, and what else would I need to use with '5x Power super refined butane gas' cans? The can has some sort of plastic adaptors on top?
  2. Is there a way to attach a pressure Guage to my system? From my understanding, I should create a negative pressure in my column so all the butane will transfer into the column from the can. I don't want to over /under pressurize my column. I have a 2 stage 5 CFM pump.
  3. what would be the next steps in upgrading my system? I was thinking obviously I could get another 1.5" spool and make the column taller, but I want to eventually reclaim.
  4. The vacuum I got has a Kuri Tec® POLYSPRING® PVC Food & Beverage Vacuum Hose Series K7160 attached to it. Is this ok? Should I ditch it and buy a different hose? I understand stainless steel or PTFE is preferred?
  5. The image is my current set up, am I missing anything for my first BHO run?

Really appreciate want help. Thanks to all!
u/IrwinMFletcher · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

Get a drop-down for the reclaim then get Five Star PBW Cleaner to clean all your glass. I have tried ISO + Salt, 420 cleaner, darkstar...and tons more. This is the best hands down. Soak overnight and it is perfect in the morning.

u/Bula710 · 2 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

BBaB Bonjour Creme Brulee torch is the best IMO. I have a 14mm domeless and it takes about 25 seconds to heat up, I can usually get about 50 dabs before I have to refill. A can of butane lasts me 5-6 grams of shatter with this torch. The Big Shot torch is also a good one:

What is active carbon used for?

For Butane, I just use whatever is on sale, for your torch it doesn't really matter. Lately I have been using Power 5x since it's 2 for $5 at my local smoke shop. You can buy a case on Amazon for like $38.

Well, for what? :) The most famous in my kit at work is this silver spoon I use for crumble. It's small, like a child's spoon (not baby), has the handle attached to the side in a curly way that lets it stand up when I set it down. Curls right around the index finger. I'd chop it up into logical bits, then use the spoon to manage the pile and load onto PTFE tared on the scale, then quickly fold the corners together, make a funnel, and deliver the load into the jar. That spoon got me from 600 jars a shift to 1200 jars a shift. Found it on Ebay and won it at auction for $12. On desktop, not gonna search for a pic of it right now, but it's rad.

That spoon, the kitchen scraper, and a flat-bladed dab tool are about it...AH. Ready? THIS combined with what I call 'The Shovel'-- rightmost tool-- can move sugars and sauces at quite the rate too. That linked set, the kitchen scraper, the ear cleaning tool, and my silver spoon finally gained at 49 yrs old are my basic needed toolkit for concentrates.

And this chair.

I bought one of them Laser Thermometers. Can't wait to use it for the perfect temps. Also great to have on hand if you cook.

I just love my torch and it's easily my most favorite of all the ones I've had. It's the Blazer Gt8000 Big Shot. Little bit pricey but in my opinion its worth it for how fast it heats up the nail and for how much you'll be using it haha

u/mookie710 · 5 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

Don't waste your time on a brake bleeding kit. Hand pumps take constant strenuous pumping to reach -29mm/hg and they aren't meant for that sort of constant use. I went through 3 hand pumps that each lasted a maximum of 3 weeks before I sucked it up and bought an electric pump. You can find them on amazon for around $100. Best purchase I've ever made.

Here's a 3.0 cfm single stage robinair that would be more than sufficient (I use a 1.5 cfm and it pulls the necessary vac in seconds).

u/outdatedboat · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

I use these tools and they're awesome. I've seen plenty of other people with the same set. 5 good tools for $9 is pretty tough to beat.

u/SemenInYourStool · 9 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

+1 on the big shot. This has been my favorite torch, and not having to hold a button the whole time I'm heating my rig has been awesome. Well worth it.

u/etownrawx · 3 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

You really do need to get all these factors right for light colored oil. The colder the initial wash, the cleaner the material, the fresher the material, the quicker the wash... the less necessary filtration will be. That said, if you need to filter it, pouring through a coffee filter doesn't really do much for color.

Take it easy on the AC, it can color your solution a bit red. Use it sparingly just to remove the green.

Freeze everything. If you can run the filter inside a freezer, do it.

-Bentonite catches water soluble stuff like lipids and waxes.

-Activated Carbon bonds to the chlorophyll

-DE/Celite catches the AC which holds onto the chlorophyll, along with other smallest contaminants

-The filter disk retains all this material in the funnel

I used a set up like this when I open blasted, the ball valves create a very good seal without tape, ratcheted down tightly with a wrench.
You'll need a inverted flare adapter to use these valves, to convert the male end to NPT threads.

I would always place a filter before the material, to filter out potential paint particles (heard claims that it scrapes paint into the butane) but I never found any paint, and I used both coffee filters and 25 micron mean screens.

I liked can tappers, as it provides a good deal more pressure for open blasting. I used less butane.

Thanks for the quick response. I have looked through that site, they have some great info. I did see this book and they have it at my local store so I might have to check it out.

u/ThePurrMonster · 5 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

Thanks for all the replies! So let make sure I'm getting this info correct, it's fine to dab with Stainless Steel? I would not be endangering my health by dabbing with these?

u/Dr_Dabber_Drew · 3 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

You need a quartz banger, a directional flow carb cap, and a nice butane torch if you've got the extra money for it. A propane torch will work in its place will just mess up your nail quicker. Also qtip the nail in between every hit with q tips dipped in isopropyl alcohol to keep the nail as clean as possible. Will provide better dab experience. Look up "low temp dabs" on youtube, don't ruin your concentrates by taking hot dabs. Hope this helps, happy dabbin!

Just Use PTFE Sheets BHogart sells fiberglass reinforced stuff for cheapest. PTFE is totally solvent proof and wont dissolve into your extract like silicone. Additionally its used in medical devices because bacteria have trouble adhering to its surface because its so non stick.

Oilslick sells 16' rolls for 1$ a foot at alot of smoke shops.

BHOgart Has larger rolls of the stuff that is fiberglass reinforced for better heat transfer, Strength, and so it "always lays flat"( so you dont get paper curls on the sides of the sheet in the oven).

u/xbox666 · 2 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

Buy ptfe off amazon.

Much thicker than slicksheet and lasts for ever if you treat it right. I pay someone once a week to come in and clean my sheets with iso then theyre brand new again.

u/alldanknugs · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

I dont think the can tapper would function properly with that ball valve. I think you need one like this

That adapter should work I think but I got this one and make sure you remove the internals that are not needed in our application and would reduce the flow of tane

And this is my can tapper

When you use a can tapper correctly the puncture point is at the bottom corner of the can so all of the butane can flow out as a liquid. Since the flow rate is increased the pressure inside the tube also increases and with my setup running two can tappers I increase the pressure even more.

u/iBeenie · 2 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

Well I'm not the person you replied to, but I bought a cheap infrared thermometer and it has trouble getting a steady reading (especially on metal). Sometimes the temp fluctuates rapidly by hundreds of degrees when I'm holding it still on the same surface. This is the one I bought on Amazon It has great ratings, so maybe mine is just a fluke. Never bothered to comment or write to the seller or anything (it was so cheap, I just didn't bother).

u/WastedAcct · 2 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

Cool, thanks. One other thing. How would I connect the tubing from my vacuum pump to the glass beaker? Mine currently has some screw on inlet ports. I'm using a Robinair Pump

u/RaulDenino · 5 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

cost me 10$ in adapters from home depot to get it to hook up to my sink. works great pulls down to -25hg

u/jwatttt · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

here is my parts list lol i think this would be a better idea splitter. can-tap. going from the splitter to my glacier top. and camico adapter. and ball valves. Does this look adequate or which part do I need to be able to press the valve depressor?

u/bolognasilencer · 5 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

Assuming Butane is your solvent, blast onto glass or Teflon if you don't want to scrape.

If you scrape when the dish is warm with a clean/sharp blade, it will come off a lot easier.

u/I_Dab_Slabs · 5 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

Best torch is the Blazer GT8000 Big Shot

Bit expensive at 100, but worth it. Not sure what affordable is to you, though. Everyone has a different idea of what that is depending on their budget. As for fast working this is a flawless torch. Lights every single time and is heats it up quick.

u/2days · 0 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

u/Mrcool360 · 4 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

I don't use propane due to it causing oxidation faster than butane. My new favorite is the Blazer Bigshot Blazer GT8000 Big Shot Butane Torch

u/uritarded · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

There's no way this torch could get a TI nail red hot in 5 seconds. Creme brulee torches heat at 2500 *C and it still doesn't heat up a TI nail red hot in 5 seconds. The best torch I've seen is a blazer big shot. Little more than a vector torch, and heats up TI faster.

u/ThinkTech420 · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

Best kit ever for dabs it has a flat scraper what I would do get you an airtight glass container scrap up everything in the middle transfer it to silicon. Fold what's left put it in the ziplock bag, put that in your glass container seal toss it and your scrapper in your freezer for 5-10minutes longer if needed but keep an eye on it. It will scrap off so easily and you will get every last bit you can.

u/dropbhombsnotbombs · 3 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

It's a roll of parchment paper-like material that's safe to blast directly onto. Here's a link.

u/snobord · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

I went with all of them. Skip the SkilletToolz, they basically put a sticker on this set to charge you $10 each instead of total.

Next time, this is more fit for /r/dailydabbers.

u/OK_now_what · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

Several options available.... this is the best resource on the internet for the discussion:

You can get one at Harbor Freight for under $100 but I was able to get a deal on this one through my employer so I paid about $100 for it...

u/dankdabber · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

That's what I have. I've used a Newport torch as well which was nice for how small it was but it constantly needed to be refilled and took much longer to heat up my nail

u/Asmodiar_ · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

Get one of those faucet asperators

Just make sure your hose water isn't going down the drain - because you don't want your butane down there :P

Blazer Big Shot GT 8000

I got one of those and never looked back. Went through several of those shitty creme brûlée torches people mention. This one has been lasting me for months and months of constant use with no signs of breaking down anytime soon. Make sure not to skimp on butane either. If you're gonna spend 9.99 on a torch, you're going to get what you pay for: crap.

Voice of reason here, a scale is $11 on amazon... that is less than 1/5 the price of a g of top shelf wax... invest in one if you are scared you are getting ripped off.

ninja edit: get one of these if you need a weighing dish for wax.

u/zephino · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

dudee.. thats such a bad idea... the mason jar could implode and yeahh bad things will come of that.

get a vacuum oven:

pump for the oven:

BEST butane extraction tool (cant wait to see someone tell me otherwise):

this is a proper setup besides the oven is made in china and is finicky sometimes

u/Slab_Amberson · 3 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

Chamber and pump - $235

Glass extract tube that holds 60 grams - $40 A larger tube may be necessary, I don't know how big your pants are but Amazon has tons of different sizes to choose from.

25 micron Mean Screenz - $20

Thermometer gun - $17

PTFE sheet to blast onto - $20

I use these rubber gaskets to attach my screens on and tighten a hose clamp over the gasket - $15 So the order will be glass tube, screen, gasket, hose clamp.

Presto griddle - $23

This gives you a total of $370 with plenty room for shipping, butane, and anything else you may need.

u/bliss219 · 6 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

as its been said blasting straight to metal is bad. also blasting straight to parchment is bad. use PTFE slick sheets. its reusable to a point and you never have to scrape again!
