This is the stuff I use the most for the kind of bonding your talking about. If you treat the surface properly it can do some amazing things. It can also bond aluminum, steel and stainless steel to carbon fiber.

I carry mine in a front pocket. Having it in the back pocket seemed great before I bought one, but it turns out that it is so compact and rigid you just wind up sitting on a small brick. It started to put a couple of wear spots into my jeans so I switched to a front pocket.

Edit: I used to carry a wallet like this and it worked well in a back pocket. It has some flex to it and rounded corners which makes all the difference.

Here's an amazon link

I bought the plastic version, cast it in fiberglass, and made a copy in CF. Mostly for the fun of doing it myself, but it was way cheaper than the limited-production version ($1400). Mine's probably stronger. The plastic version isn't cheap, either ($300)

Its not a course but this book is a good starting point for understanding why things are done.

Mechanics of Composites

Learn strength of materials (basic structural/mechanical engineering) and read that book. That should get you most of the way there, and there's likely a PDF/ebook of it available somewhere.

Thanks for your reply. I just ordered medium cure time of TotalBoat high performance epoxy.

It's at least 20 minutes I think.

For 2 or 3 cuts maybe and then be dull. The carbon will dull whatever scissors you get pretty quickly, so get a scissor sharpener as well. But key is high carbon steel or titanium alloy.
