Well...

There's some that may give you the academic version or a real long list of certain versions and order, which is great if that's what you are looking for.

But if you are looking for something accessible and straightforward, here's my recommendation:

https://www.amazon.com/Robert-Howard-Omnibus-Collected-Classics-ebook/dp/B003O86R5M

It's 1.99$ and has:

Conan Stories
• Gods of the North
• Queen of the Black Coast
• Shadows in the Moonlight
• A Witch Shall be Born
• Shadows in Zamboula
• The Devil in Iron
• The People of the Black Circle
• Red Nails
• Jewels of Gwahlur
• Beyond the Black River
• The Hour of the Dragon
• The Hyborian Age

It has a ton more Robert E. Howard, so if you like what you read, you may enjoy his other works. It's not the best copy, some mistakes here and there but at this price, it's a pretty good deal.

Start with The Hyborian Age as it gives a "history" if you will of the world of Conan. It helps you orientate yourself as Conan doesn't tend to stay in one place.

I'll end with another suggestion: try picking up some old Conan paperback stories from the 60's and 70's. Most of these had some L. Sprague De Camp work done to them but I think he did a great job of making them a bit more accessible for most people (which I think worked to a degree). I started on these and really enjoyed them a lot. I buy multiple copies just in case one falls apart from reading them. They aren't meant to be prized possessions but I love them.

Check back here if you don't see much traction on this. There are some great folks here that will post their suggestions too! I've never met a Conan/REH fan I didn't like.

I can recommend this edition of Dark Horse Conan. They feature original REH's stories adapted to graphic novel form. It is now available in an Omnibus collection, however I would stop at Omnibus 2 as the writers and artists were replaced with untalented hacks later in the run.

Born on the Battlefield is also a good read. It's a Dark Horse original story about Conan's youth. Also the Dark Horse King Conan books are good. They are adaptions of REH stories as well.

I can speak for this edition of John Carter, it was very good and highly recommended.

I, too, was just reading this today. After almost two years I finally decided to finish it. I'm on the Hour of the Dragon now and it's great.

I've been wondering if this book has all the Conan stories published or if there are any more? I'm also interested in more of R.E. Howards fantasy stories, I already have Bran Mak Morn (this one) and it had some great stories. Can anyone reccommend me more good stuff by him? I'm not really interested in his sport stories or the westerns.

I just bought Chronicles of Conan #1 today. It's a very affordable copy of the first few issues of Conan the Barbarian. The first 4 volumes are all Barry Smith who became famous for this awesome work. Volume 4 is Smiths most mature work though it is also the most expensive of the volumes. Red Nails is Smiths masterpiece.

Can confirm that it is unedited, I have it and enjoy it a lot. Also check out Conan's Brethren under the same collection, also fantastic.

In honor of Pulp Crazy's Three Year Anniversary, I'm going to be discussing a story by my favorite pulp writer, "Delenda Est" by Robert E. Howard. This is a tale of historical fiction with supernatural elements, focusing on Genseric, the King of the Vandals as he sails from Carthage to Rome around 455 A.D.

Here Is a collection. You can get all three, which is every Conan short story, and the novel, by Robert E. Howard.

Peer-reviewed, and that's weird, let me fix that.

[/edit] I can't fix that, looks like it's a script on the subreddit that redirects for whatever reason. But here's the full link: https://www.amazon.com/Dark-Man-Journal-Fiction-Studies/dp/179659492X/
