I have these glasses in sunglass form - they are identical to what is shown in the link but they are mirror-coated.

They shift the color spectrum a lot and certainly make colors pop a lot more... for me anyway. It took me a couple weeks of wearing them before they stopped giving me headaches, but they sure are effective. Definitely more of a brute force type approach.

One thing that might work, in an indoor climbing-wall environment, is tinted glasses. Don’t buy these particular ones—they’re just the first ones that came up in a search—but here is an example (these ones are supposed to be sunglasses for women). The idea would either be to filter out all but a particular route, or at least filter out some of the ambiguous routes. You may be able to find fairly-decent-looking tinted safety glasses and goggles designed for things like working around lasers that wouldn’t necessarily seem out of place.

I'm always up front and ask a fellow customer or salesperson what color an item is when I buy it if I don't know, or the color isn't listed on the tag.

Then, I did some basic research on what colors/patterns go well with each other. I ended up buying the following book but there are plenty of websites out there with good info.

Yes, there's one based on edge size rather than color: https://www.amazon.com/Mirror-Cube-3x3-Silver-Black/dp/B005989GVC

Or if that's not the kind of thing you were looking for, Google 'greyscale Rubik's cube'.
