Best controller? I'd definitely say the xbox one elite because of the paddles on the back. You could also just get a battery pack that has paddles. They're a lot cheaper, and work with your existing controller.

The paddles are important because they allow you to keep your thumb on the right analog stick. I switched from controller to MKB in open beta because I didn't like the idea of having to move my thumb to GBC, dodge, or feint.

I'm not sure about best controller settings. You definitely want to lower your dead zone setting to probably 5. Someone might be able to recommend good controller settings.

I bought this for my Xbox One controller (I play on PC) https://www.amazon.com/Collective-Minds-XBOX-ONE-Strike-Pack/dp/B01720MZJO. It adds paddles and is relatively affordable compared to the Elite.

Definitely worth it IMO -- makes GB tech infinitely easier and allows you to keep your right thumb on the stick most of the time.

You're better off buying this ASUS monitor (link below). Benq monitors cost a decent amount more and this monitor uses the exact same screen as the Benq's do. I have this exact ASUS monitor and have had it for about 4 months. I absolutely love it. When I bought it it was about $200 USD and the price has been fluctuating ever since I did. The lowest I saw it was $195 USD. It's a bit on the higher side atm though, but Benq's are still a bit more. Hope this helps!

So, I've finally decided to grab a gaming monitor thanks to For Honor, but I know didly about the specs I should look for and don't want to buy something that I will not even be able get the full use from since I'm on console. With that said, any suggestions? I was looking at this one but I keep getting the feeling that its more than I need. https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-ZOWIE-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKRLO/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1517526550&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=1ms+gaming+monitor&psc=1

actually not joking. Although I dont use one, I am convinced foot pedals are a tool the competitive gaming community should not be overlooking. Can use cheaper racing pedals too of course.

Input lag in monitors is drastically lower (usually between 10ms and 25ms) compared to tv setups (25-150ms). Most people who play on console are sitting on a couch watching a tv they use for other media purposes.

To get around this problem, you either need to use game mode on your tv, or you need to buy a tv designed with gaming in mind, like the LG55UJ7700 which has a 12ms delay.
