After seeing These pool lights, I got the idea to start this project. Ordered it hoping it would be easily taken apart, and thankfully it was.
Materials used:
-That pool light and all its internal components
-A dremel for nearly all the cutting and shaping
-90 degree 1" PVC elbow from Lowe's (the handle)
-25c bouncy ball (cut in half for the base of the handle)
-A plain white bucket (cut the side out of it and shaped it to use for the back of the light)
-Black Krylon paint
-Hot glue
-More hot glue
-Aluminum 3M tape

The reflective tape was put on to help reflect the light inside more as well as block light from going through. A bit was cut around the edges to help the hot glue bond later.
The control board there was what was included with the light. Since I didn't take any of it apart, I kept the button (you can see it on the handle), a charging port (mounted in the middle), and full RGB capability still usable with the remote. The glossed dome was put over it to diffuse the light even more before putting the rest of the dome on.

Talked to my friend, we would sell the 3D printed parts for $30 + shipping. It's 5 pieces in total, the orb, the two halves to the back plate, and two halves to the handle.
