A standing desk would be easy, it sounds like you're describing a mechanical sit-stand desk.

This stuff isn't particularly pretty, but it helps. It might inspire you to find something else that can flexibly bundle your cables together.

String your cable when the desk is fully up, planning carefully so that when the desk comes down, the excess falls where you want it. Be extra careful that the loop can't snag anything while it's slack.

How many devices do you have plugged in? Any pics would help. Are you using two surge protectors in total or more? If only two, there shouldn't be a need to piggyback. Just a suggestion, but I use this on my desk for laptop chargers, phone chargers etc. Pretty sure they have larger ones on Amazon.

Easy fix.

Use cable trays on the bottom of the desk: https://www.amazon.com/WireTamer-Cable-Management-Tray-Black/dp/B01BVYW7UY/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=cable+tray&qid=1571879377&sr=8-4

Then screw in a large strip cord to the bottom: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036DEC48/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Some cable clips to top it off (use your favorite style, there are plenty): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075Y9J42T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then run them down the legs from the bottom of the desk, just use Velcro straps or something :)

Here are both of my main setups using only those products: https://imgur.com/a/67TxbQQ

Since you can't screw anything into the desk, here's what I would do:

Grab some of these while they're on sale

Then grab some 3M Command Strips to hold up some sort of cable raceway like this (Although you can probably find something cheaper than this particular one at Lowes or Home Depot.)

Or you could just buy a few of these

Or a cable box like this. Personally, I'd go with the box and velcro strips, since your tower is so close to the outlet. Unless you plan to relocate it.

But most importantly for college dorm life: 3M command strips are your friend for almost everything.

I use the StarTech cable raceway and it has done absolute wonders for my cable management. I have a sit/stand desk with no back, so having cables hanging down from my desk was not an option. So I got this raceway and attached it to the underside of my desk using some Scotch mounting tape. Some of my notes:

  • Made of soft plastic, so I was able to cut it with wire cutters to fit the length of my desk
  • Slots along the entire length, so cables can come in from all directions
  • Lots of space and I still have plenty of room after having all my cables stuffed in there. If your desk is decently long, it shouldn't have trouble storing a modern laptop power brick
  • Low profile and sits unseen behind my desk's crossbar support

Based on what I can see in your picture, it looks like you could probably benefit most from using a Raceway. With it you should be able to channel all of your cables in one direction. Meaning starting from your rig, up the right desk leg and straight across underneath the desk. Should give you a much cleaner look.

well... im 17 so the furniture in here is kinda set in stone till i get my own place in the near future... but yeah i hate all these cords on the floor ill try to wall mount it and get some of those cable clips.... i have these weird... Qknots... so i hope those are alright alternatives to velcro/zipties

Edit : The power strip has holes in the back of it to hang it like a painting sooooo thats cool im going to do that and then use the qknot things to wrap all of the monitor cords and power together... how should i do that like one hdmi/display port + power per qknot... or... what

Edit 2 cause i stupid: and then with those cable clips would i only use those for phone cords? cause if yeah that seems kinda like a waste... and like... the oculus cord? could i just leave that hanging do you think that would be fine?

Cable clips from Amazon then. Mount power strip to wall or back of desk. That don't work, you might want to look into getting a new desk haha. I mounted mine with command strips.

I've got these mounted to my desk. Not fully enclosed, but ended up being clean enough for me.

I want to add some sort of cable wrap. What do you guys and gals think of these options?:

Absolutely, these are the ones that I used:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C9ZWH1H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They come with 9 which is more than you'll ever need, and they have a side with 3m adhesive so you can just stick them on furniture, walls, etc.

I also used these:
https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Multi-Purpose-Fasteners-Black-RF7021/dp/B000GAZ7H0/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=scotch+velcro&qid=1564782382&s=electronics&sr=1-1

To stick my power bricks and power strips to the top of my desk

I don't think they have a specific name. If you search for cable management on AliExpress (or similar sites) these always came up when I tried. Found them using the same method on Amazon, though I had to scroll a bit further. https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Clips-Management-Nightstand-Accessories/dp/B00NVKHLP8/ref=zg_bs_11042051_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=MGT20QBPQNS35116TYYW

Here's a 6' extension for $7, or the 15' cord is $10.

I'm 98% certain the desk I have is a Linnmon desk as well and I've mounted the SIGNUM Cable management tray under it. I used the shortest drywall anchors I could find (like this but not that specific pack, I just had some lying around). It's been attached for over 3 years now with no issues. I even mounted my surge protector (12-outlet belkin ) upside down under the desk with no issues.
