I rigged up a clipboard and attached a pen with some paracord so that the customer would always have a flat surface to write on and a pen that "works". I've got many compliments on it.

Know your town. This might be more difficult in a larger town but where I live, I know Main Street divides North & South, and the river divides East & West. From there, you will know exactly what block your on. I also know that the odd house numbers run Northbound and Eastbound; even house numbers run Southbound and Westbound. Once you figure that out, you'll be able to find just about anything. Until then, Google Maps will be a big help since you can pull up a picture of most houses.

Get a flashlight. I use a Maglite Mini which is around 250 lumens. They work great for shining house numbers, and helping the customer see the receipt that they're signing. They also come with a sleeve that attaches to your belt, so you can easily carry it on you. https://www.amazon.com/MagLite-Mini-Mag-Led-Blue/dp/B007WKFHNG/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=maglite+mini&qid=1570278971&sr=8-7

If you live in a cold climate, get yourself some ice cleats for your shoes/boots. This will help you gain traction when people don't salt/shovel their driveway and sidewalk. This last winter was rough for us, and we got a lot of freezing rain. I slipped and sprained my ankle on a delivery and was out of work for a while because of it. I used to have a pair but I wasn't using them at the time. Lesson learned, and I'll probably be buying another set before winter. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ice+cleats&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

I can't stress this one enough, but always be aware of your surroundings and recognize the red flags. Don't put yourself in danger. If you don't feel safe, don't complete the delivery.

As for tips, they will get better as you learn the job. Most of the time if the customer is paying cash, they already have an idea of what they're going to give you. If they pay with a card, sometimes your customer service skills can have an influence on the tip. When you get a receipt, keep them in order in your car so you don't have to spend time doing this at the end of the night. Clip them together, and add the next receipt to the bottom of the stack.

Defensive driving skills are very important. When you're on the road, always be looking both ways before proceeding through an intersection, even when you have the "right of way". If you can't see around someone, rest your foot on the brake until you know it's safe. It'll cut the reaction time in half if you have to hit the brakes or swerve out of the way. Your going to see people run stop signs, red lights, cut you off, etc.

A product called Carbon Off
At resturant supply stores, maybe even home depot. I got the gel kind and brushed it on, made the scraping with a paint scraper easier, but then you'll ruin the coating. If it's real bad, it may not be worth the effort. If you do scrape, make sure you season the pans (coat with cooking oil and run it thru the oven) before using them or you'll be sorry.

BE SURE TO WASH EVERYTHING REALLY GOOD BEFORE USING WITH FOOD AGAIN!

(As a former Domino's delivery guy who's been in this situation once or twice) I'd feel better about leaving it if there was a hot bag by said door. Certainly I'd hesitate a lot less.

They're not too expensive, I use this one doing UberEats and it was just a little over $20...

I've got some nonalip sketchers and these neat pants I can't live without.

The short I have have two narrow pockets on the front of the thighs. I'm a driver so I keep change in one, and cash orders in the other. Keeps my money separate, and it's nearly impossible for cash to slip out because they're deep and nothing else goes in there.

I attached one of these things to my clipboard. Your solution might be better.
It is kinda hard to quantify, but I really think the clipboard has helped my tips.

>Or slash his tires.

No, don't slash tires, remove valve stems. The tool to pull a valve stem is cheap and if you get caught, you have no restitution to pay as it doesn't damage anything :)

I will just not install it and if they give me a phone I will put it in one of these https://www.amazon.com/Lvfeier-Security-Pouch-Anti-Tracking-Anti-Spying/dp/B07J27D5TJ. They will never fire you or cut your hours unless you are a crap employee. Every Domino’s I have seen can’t keep drivers, can’t keep Management, can’t keep csr’s. We have people that can barely do anything but walk. Some have been fired and hired back multiple times.
