¥2,800 without tax to be exact. ¥3,024 with tax.

>Special CDs that offer in-game rewards are always kinda pricy.

What /u/BearyTrashy said here isn't quite accurate since the ¥3,024 version is just the normal version (通常盤). The in-game bonuses are clearly stated as first press bonuses on the page. Permanent physical bonuses are usually factored into the price but this should not be confused with early purchase or first press bonuses.

~¥3,024 is pretty standard for a normal album with 10+ tracks (with or without any sort of bonus). In this case, it's actually rather godsend since you are getting 18 tracks, DAOKO's last album only came with 10 tracks with the same price tag. Even for digital, the standard price is ¥250 per track in Japan.

Think music is expensive in your country? Think again, welcome to Japan.

>I understand that I mean no one else buys cd's these days.

Japan is the number 1 in the world in terms of physical music sales. There are a number of reasons, here's a couple:

  • Collection purposes: Japanese likes to collect in general anyway. But sometimes you also get special cover/artwork edition if it's an anime soundtrack (for example: regular vs anime) . Sometimes you also get CD only tracks etc.

  • Lottery: Have a "chance" at winning meet & greet, handshake, signing, or photo shoot tickets with the artists from the first press edition CDs. Heard of groups like AKB48? You have a "chance" of getting a voting ticket when buying a first press CD so you can vote for your favorite member to be in the spotlight/cover for the next release etc.

    ---

I can rant on and on about CD/DVD/Blu-ray sales tactics in Japan. There are a lot more I haven't gone into.

[Important! Update to the Fire tablet review at the bottom of this comment.]

Here's my experience with getting a tablet for the sole purpose of playing Dragalia Lost. I mean, that's it. That's the only reason I went looking, because my phone is old (Galaxy S7), the game lagged unless I lowered all the settings, and we can't afford to upgrade to the newer models right now. Hopefully some if it's helpful.

  • I already own this Amazon Fire and my experience with it is that it will run the game ok, but not great. You have to turn all of the graphics and settings and everything else down to the bare minimum, and it's still not great. The newer version of the Fire uses the same hardware, so I can't imagine it's any better. Now to be very clear, the game will run and you can indeed play, but you are going to lose all of your graphics. This means that when you do raid events, you will not see everyone on the screen because the game cuts them out to lower resource cost. I realize this might not sound like too big of a deal, but it was very annoying to me. But to reiterate, the game will run, and the Fires are definitely priced well.

  • IMPORTANT: You have to install Google Play on it. This is not very hard, but it does require more than the average technophobe wants to handle.

  • I first started looking at off-brand tablets because I didn't care about name brands and was hoping I could find one for under $100 since all I cared about was hardware, resolution, and preferably android over apple. I did find one amazingly-priced tablet with great hardware and a nice resolution, but after it arrived I found out that the company flat-out lied. It got returned immediately.

  • The Galaxy tablets would have been really nice since I'm already familiar with the S7 phone. Unfortunately, however, the hopefully-about-$150 price range for something name-brand was not my friend in this case. The cheapest Galaxy tablets were a stupid price for (imo) awful hardware. I found absolutely zero Galaxy tablets who had anything resembling good hardware for under $300.

  • My husband said that if I was really going to use this tablet a lot, just get something good that was going to be more future-proof because obviously doing the budget route was not working. I expanded my search into the $250 range and discovered that because Apple is trying to compete with chromebooks, their starter ipad is priced right at $250. It also comes with the best hardware by far of anything I could find for $250. The Galaxy tablets weren't even in the same ballpark. I wanted a super-restrictive OS about the same as I wanted a hole in the head, but there was nothing better. I never knew the game could run so smoothly or load lobbies so fast. It does play the game great.

I realize that my solution is out of the price range you have, but do know that the Fire does work.

    -------

    UPDATE

During a recent game update, Cygames did some behind-the-scenes optimization to the game that fixed a vast majority of the lag I experienced when scrolling through the Events menu (to get to onslaughts at the bottom) and the game temporarily freezing when hosting/joining lobbies on both my Galaxy S7 and my Fire tablet. With this snappier behavior, I would definitely recommend the Fire tablet as a cheaper and much-larger-screen alternative device to play on.

It's how the Japanese companies do things and get people to really buy into the series, though not that this is a good thing for description/product clarity. Sometimes people will buy multiple copies from different stores so they can get the various limited edition goods. Furthermore, limited edition is actually limited in regards to how many of the Daoko live anniversary event tickets that they want to send out for the balloting/lottery (so some people buy multiple copies of the version to enter the lottery multiple times to see DAOKO). This is how they get people who are into series like Love Live!/School Idol Festival. Of course, the lottery doesn't really matter for anyone buying overseas.

In this case, if they were running the item on Amazon properly, there would be 3 different tags and there would be options for a combination of all 3:

  • Normal/Limited Edition: Whether or not it includes the booklet and extra CD
  • First-Press (or not) Print: Normally first-press items include limited items like tickets in the case of other franchises, but in the case of this product, you can only buy a limited first-press. The biggest confusion seems to stem from whether or not the normal edition is first-press or not.
  • Amazon Limited Edition (or not): Comes with the IC Sticker, but other stores get things like a clear file or whatever

See top comment to ensure that you are getting what you want. Personally I would be in favor for the product page to be a bit more dynamic to ensure that the user knows what items they are getting without having to dig through the description, but sadly that's up to the manufacturer/supplier/store rather than Amazon.

Perfume's (a lovely group headed by Yasutaka Nakata, check them out if you love Daoko's collabs with him) newest album is representative of this chaos.

They have a Normal, Special Normal, First-Press Limited DVD, First-Press Limited BD, etc.

Mine do too, I bruise really easy. What I did was grab some of these stylus from Amazon. They're really great and the most reliable stylus I've used. Get purple because purple is the best.

Shortly before this game came out, I purchased a stylus from Amazon ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008HJGPVO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ). I didn't end up using it until I'd started playing DL, and found my finger was getting tired from all the tapping. The stylus works great on my Pixel, and I couldn't recommend it enough for this, as well as other games. It also keeps my finger from obscuring the screen as much, which in DL can make me not see a danger zone.

I've been told by other people that I don't look like I'm playing a game when I'm using it. People have just assumed I'm doing something important or work-related on my phone, so I guess that's an added perk I hadn't expected.

I have tested the stylus on an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy and found those screens to be less responsive, at least when typing using it. If you are interested in a stylus, I'd make sure to do some research to make sure the one you're considering is compatible with your phone.

Thats the tablet I use. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, works wonderful. I play DBZ Legends, Dragalia and Epic7 on it with wonderful framerate.

I like ring attachments they wear out pretty quick but are cheap and easy to replace and help reduce strain quite a bit. If you place it lower on your phone you can minimize the angle your thumb points downward to get to buttons as well.

Here you go! It's super easy and extremely affordable for a custom pin. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UIFJ5HG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Bbk3CbQS5JRFJ

think about buying a phone stand. That way you aren't gripping the phone so tightly when things get exciting. I'm particularly fond of the below.

Yes and it's 64gb built in - not sure how much space you need but I'm about 1/2 capacity and I've had the phone for about 2 years. You can play on max settings, no lag or issues ever so far

For those unaware (note: I'm only familiar with the U.S. history version; I'm unfamiliar with the treatment of Japanese in other countries):

  • In the United States, Japanese-Americans across the country were forced to relocate to the west, to concentration camps in isolated and desert areas. Japanese-Americans were given, at most, six days to pack what they can and move. They sold their houses and belongings; some giving it to their neighbors on the promise that "they'll be back soon".
  • Many Asian-Americans were terrified of being labeled as "Japanese". Many felt the need to clearly and physically label themselves as non-Japanese Asians to escape the discrimination and camps. Japanese-Americans could not freely admit their ethnicity, without fear of being discriminated against.
  • These camps were hastily put together, providing very poor and dirty conditions. Being located in a desert, many Japanese-Americans felt isolated and alone. Many died of illnesses from lacking proper medical care and nutrition. Some died from allergies.
  • In these camps, Japanese media was often censored, out of fear and misunderstanding that they were collaborating against the U.S.
  • Here are some anti-Japanese propaganda posters produced in the U.S. Notice how the Japanese are dehumanized as evil and monkey-like demon people. Posters and attitudes like these made it easy to justify killing Japanese enemy soldiers without remorse. And to treat them as subhumans.
  • Many young people lost their chance at education or had to stop their education. Men were forced to enlist and took "loyalty" surveys that were skewed in favor of the government. Many of these surveys asked "Will you serve the U.S. army?" If answered "no", these men were marked as traitors. Literal traps with no way out.
  • After the end, very few people received reparations–reparations, which, did not cover even a fraction of what they lost (belongings, homes, businesses, farms, lives, time, trauma, etc.). Many lost it all.

If you're going to use a slur, then learn the history associated with it. I recommend reading Only What We Could Carry for personal accounts on those who resided in the camps, among other accounts.

If any of this information is unfamiliar, I'm sorry that the American public education system has failed you. The topic of Japanese internment camps is rarely brought up or expanded upon in public classrooms. Unsurprising, considering the U.S. heralds itself as the swoop-in "hero" of WWII. There is a serious issue of the "bad" history being pushed out of the classrooms.
