Luther was not a fundamentalist; he was the founder of Protestantism. Fundamentalism arose later from Protestantism and Catholicism, in the 1900s. There's an excellent history of the movement if you'd like to take the time to read it: https://www.amazon.com/Battle-God-History-Fundamentalism-Ballantine-ebook/dp/B005DB6NCA The first Fundamentalist was Sister Aimee Semple who had a storefront church in LA in the early twentieth century.

Fundamentalists look down on both mainstream Protestants and Catholics alike, as well as Jews, Muslims, Bahais, etc.., etc.. They believe that they communicate directly with God and that God acts in their lives and they have "the gifts of the Spirit" and can create miracles in their every day life. God talks to them directly (and I mean this quite literally for many of them; some of them, including my father, will tell you that God speaks out loud to them).

IBLP is a special, weird little sect/cult based on one man, Bill Gothard, but a lot of their beliefs (woman submits to man, women must dress ultra modestly, remove yourself from the world and only concern yourself with Godly things, etc.) are common in fundamentalism.

I worked in bakeries and high end restaurants for many years.

If you are piping icing onto a cupcake, chose a piping tip that isn't a circle. Choose really any other shape and you won't have a poo emoji atop your dessert.
I love the Wilton 2D with the prongs pried open a bit.

For practice, I recommend baking a few cupcakes and let them sit out and dry for a few days. Make up a basic butter cream and practice on the cupcake, scraping it off and doing it over and over again.

I read this biography a year or so ago and it was about a woman who got married in the USA at 14

it was super interesting. But this was in the early 1900s, not the 1950s....

One time I read a book about what its like to write in Hollywood, it was called The Billion Dollar Kiss The author wrote for Dawsons Creek and they were having trouble making the show go after like the second season, the producers kept wanting to have the main guy James Van der Veek make out with Michelle Williams who later went on to be inn Manchester by the Sea.

The writers wanted Dawson and Joey (Katie Holmes) to get together, which they eventually did and the kiss they had led to great interest in the story and eventually Dawson's Creek became a billion dollar franchise. But the writers had to pretty much strike against Michelle Williams and the producers. I'll never forget one guy standing up and yelling (about Michelle Williams) MAN FUCK THAT CHIPMUNKED CHEEK CUNT!

All that to say Kendras got some major chipmunk cheeks

I have a fantasy that Kendra will go rouge and leave the cult and write a book similar to Deborah Feldman’s Unorthodox . Similar to Deborah, Kendra’s basically a teen mom, invested in the cult from both sides (raised in it and married into it), and appears seemingly happy about it. Something about her smiles and giddy personality makes me think she’s just gonna crack one day.

Borderline is one of the most common personality disorders diagnosed. However, it is often misdiagnosed in place of bipolar. With bipolar, manic depression can present in similar ways as borderline.

However, there are key differences between the two diagnoses. Borderline is characterized through the person's relationships with other people. There is often this perceived sense of abandonment (typically traced back to some kind of childhood trauma) with relationships that a client with borderline will go to extreme measures to prevent. There is a great book called I Hate You, Don't Leave Me that does a great job of describing that intense need to keep relationships. Clients with borderline are typically some of the hardest clients to keep safe because they will often use self-harm or suicidal gestures in order to meet that need for relationships (non-strengths based wording would be that a client with borderline is really good at manipulation to keep people around).

Bipolar disorder is all about the energy that a person has. Mania comes across as intense levels of energy, and then the depression side looks like the stereotypical major depressive disorder. Bipolar disorder is often rooted in genetics rather than a result of trauma/separation. Bipolar disorder symptoms can mostly be managed successfully through medications, but borderline personality disorder is treated with a form of therapy called Dialectical Behavioral Therapy that teaches skills on how to maintain healthy relationships and be at peace with yourself.

***If anybody here watches the show Shameless (US version) on Netflix, Shameless is an amazing tv show to depict mental health needs. >!Ian in the show is a very classic example of bipolar, presenting with high levels of energy in some seasons and then falling into deep depression in other seasons. In season 8, Cassidy (Carl's girlfriend) is a PERFECT example of borderline personality disorder.!<

What's going on with JB's hair in this pic? It looks like one of those things you wipe your muddy boots on when you come in from gardening.

I think it’s Doing Life With Your Adult Children

It has a chapter titled failure to launch, and from the preview I saw is super preachy

Don't worry, I didn't realize Jehovah's Witnesses were a cult until I watched the episode on them of A&E's "Cults and Extreme Belief". (Free to watch if you're a Prime member.) Now I feel so sorry for the people that knock on my door on Saturday mornings.
