Hi there! I injured my tailbone about a month ago, and I STILL feel the soreness 😭 Anyway, this is what I bought soon after because the butt pads I had used obviously did not do their job protecting me 😁

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07G4WDTCZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Not a butt pad expert, but the padding on this one is really thick and also pretty hard/tough (for lack of a better word). I’ve been wearing these ever since and did not feel a thing when I fell on my side a week ago.

Also bought these to be safe:

I have yet to wear them, but I heard it’s what a lot of competitive skaters use.

I use toe warmers inside my boots on particularly cold sessions. https://www.amazon.com/HotHands-Toe-Warmers-Odorless-Activated/dp/B0007ZF4PE

I know a few people who love their boot gloves. https://www.northerniceanddance.com/boot-gloves-lights-boot-covers-p-928.html

You might be surprised what a difference something like simple leg warmers can make.

If you can find zip off or snap off warmup pants, it’s an extra layer you can shed when you get warm or add when you get chilly. I wouldn’t wanna wear them the whole time, but they’re nice for beginning and end of the session

Is this the kind of thing you mean? I'm not really familiar with wrist guards specifically meant for skating, but this kind of thing is what I used playing soccer for a while after I hurt my wrist as a teenager. It fit pretty well under gloves.

I'm pretty sure this is still a thing in Russia, actually, and maybe other places. Here's 'Sleeping Beauty On Ice' dvd on amazon, for instance. Pretty sure this youtube video is the entire production of Carmen On Ice. Here's the Nutcracker. I'm sure there are more recordings of other shows somewhere. My guess is we don't see this any more stateside because it's likely insanely expensive to produce; so it was profitable in the highest hay days of figure skating, but more risky now. So we get Disney on Ice, because Disney has the money to still put on ice shows even with the risk, and because it's an established name that has been operating for years and years. Just my guess. *Edited to add Nutcracker to the list.

Wipe the blades off immediately after skating and store them in soakers at all times: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000N82DU4/ref=twister_B000N839TS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The blades will start to rust very quickly if you're not careful to keep them bone-dry. Pay careful attention to where the blades screw into the bottom of the skate. You want to wipe the entire skate off until dry.

As soon as you get home, take your skates out of the bag and let them breath to dry out the insides.

It's also good to wear hard guards on your skates anytime you are not on the ice. Hard guards come in a million different color choices. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MBW4K6/ref=twister_B000MBUXEA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I put my hard guards on before I even put my skates on. Then I take them on and off as I enter and exit the ice. This will keep your blades sharper for longer and protect them from the tiny grit and dirt from the floor you walk on.

DO NOT store your skates in hard guards. They will definitely rust. Always store them in the soakers.

This is the best way to prolong the life of your skates and blades.

Also, get your skates sharpened when you start to have trouble staying on your edges. You don't want to sharpen them too soon, since that wears the blade down faster, but you do need them sharpened often enough that it doesn't affect your ability to skate well. Right after they've been sharpened, you will feel wobbly until you get used to it again.

Those skates will probably start to break down after you've used them for a year or so. Especially if you start doing freestyle classes. Jumps and spins exert much more force on the skates than just simple Basics classes. Your bodyweight will also play a role in how fast the skates break down. The heavier you are, the more stress the skates are under.

Sorry about the delay, things have been busy. Here's a link for the plugs we use. https://skatesus.com/product/carbon-filler-plugs/ My daughter has edea skates, but I don't see any reason why these wouldn't work in any other brand. Here is the epoxy that we've used. 3M 05220 Marine Adhesive/Sealant 5200 Fast Cure, 3 oz. / White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000AY6CA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9MDmDbA24X9PK We've been able to get it at the local hardware store, but your mileage may very on that. Good skating!

If you want to replace earbuds tips to keep the tips wax-free or for your comfort, consider if your model is compatible with your earbuds! I use Comply with Wax Guard, which was only choice available.

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend getting wrist guards. I use these: https://smile.amazon.com/Triple-Saver-Wristsavers-Black-Small/dp/B0000DZIK1

I wear wrist guards when I'm working on something new and it's unpredictable how I'll fall, but when I first started skating as an adult I just wore them all the time. A tailbone pad is also helpful. I see some adults wearing helmets too. These things won't necessarily save you from a bad fall (although there have been times when I've fallen hard on my hands and the wrist guards probably prevented injury) but hopefully they'll give you confidence and make it more likely you'll get comfortable with the ice and falling properly to reduce your risk of injury.

Like some people said here, knees are more likely to be injured and I busted mine a few months into skating and bought knee pads asap. 10/10 recommend these!

want crazy strong hair spray?

Freeze spray

The brand is what I use for styling wigs. You want 8 in spikes, this is your product.

If you really have that much trouble with your hair, why not cut it super short then it just needs a brush and a bit of product to keep it from being frizzy?

Hair sewing is for buns and some braids to help hold them in place.

I use this one here, and they are quite common at my rink.

I'm a 26-male, and I consider it grown up. Also I have abused it for 2 years and it doesn't even show any signs of wear yet.

I had the same pressure point when I first got my ice flys and got these: https://www.amazon.com/Absolute-Bunga-Pads-2-5-Discs/dp/B000289YZC

Had no pain with them in and after about 3 weeks my boots were broken in enough to stop using them.

Edeas do not work for everyone. They advertise that they do, but they just don't. It sounds like Edea is bad fit for you.

You can try using arch cookies for the arch pain. Something like this or this.

Is your heel pain in the bottom of your heel, or is it pump bump? Where it hurts in the outside edge side of the heel by the Achilles insertion point.
