*edit: just got it and it is loaded with pretty much everything. I now have it in my tank bag on my motorcycle wherever I go especially working at my security job.
I am partial to the Bates line. Boots are like anything else though. 5 different people will have 10 different answers.

They also have a low height option as well, but I prefer the support of the 8" boot.
I'm sure it's not what you're looking for, but as a cop, I really want a set of these.
I looked at that one and was gonna get it until I realized it was 2 1/4". I wanted a 2" belt so I went with this one.
Maybe something like this is more up your alley?
