The most important part of shot gun aiming, on a controller, is the ability to put jump onto your left hand, meaning you can aim and jump at the same time. Taking your thumb off the analogue to jump and then swiping the stick to try and aim again is really un-efficient way of aiming.

You will need: A scuff, battle beaver, XBOne Elite controller, doesn’t matter. Personally I use the FPS Strikepack Dominator, for my PS4, and it’s absolutely amazing. Heres the link to what I use.

Using the FPS I am able to set my left paddle/button on the back of the control to jump. So i can jump using my left ring finger without taking my right thumb off of the aim stick. It took me 3 days or about 8hours to get used to the extra button, but without a doubt, my aiming and shotgun confidence has improved massively. Judging on my aiming vs others, Id say as a rough guess that about 30-40% of players on console have the extra button. And these buttons are legal in MLG. If your Xbox, maybe look at an Xbox Elite controller, or PS I highly recommend what I use. Or just get a Scuff, but personally I think they are way to expensive for what they are.

For the price of a Scuff, I bought myself a brand new PS4 v2 controller in Steel Black, the FPS Strikepack Mod, and I can replace either one if they break and will still have spent less.

I can understand the mini map annoyance. I’ve never really noticed it, but thanks to you I’ll probably notice is from here on out, which sucks haha. But dude, definitely invest in a headset. I got this one from Amazon. It’s by no means a top notch headset, but it most definitely gets the job done without breaking the bank. My only issue with it is that it’s pretty fucking bulky and starts to hurt after a few hours of playing. But still, cheap and does what I need it to.

Hello I have the same exact situation and you. I am missing most of my left forearm and hand. I actually play on pc entirely with an Xbox one controller. It’s a clear mechanical disadvantage but it’s still fun. Also have you tried using foot pedals? I use these ones for League of Legends and they work great. I haven’t figured out a way to incorporate them into fortnight but they can be bound to any key.

I've got a HyperX Cloud 2 and I love it. Contextual sound can be a bit wonky in game, but most of the time it gives me enough information to know where enemies are.

Thats a great deal for a great headset. You can plug it right into the PS4's 3.5 mm jack.

Looking on Amazon, these seem like ones I would buy if I didn't have some currently. I have the Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 50P and the are amazing, though a bit over the $30 mentioned ($35). I can personally recommend those.

This is a pretty reliable paddle attachment for your PS4 controller. I used this for Fortnite/COD when I had a PS4 (I mapped jump and build to them) and it’s a great cheaper option rather than paying over $100 for a controller with paddles.

However if you are willing to spend like 900 I would highly recommend buying this one cause it comes with SSD and 1060. That makes a huge difference. Games load up faster and boot time is like 4 secs.

It’s night and day trust me. As long as your PC can get above 120fps it’s amazing. The one I use is 1440p 144hz, I wouldn’t get this unless you have atleast a gtx 1070. Also what size do you want I use 24” just because my old monitor was a 24 so they’re the same size. One draw back is the colour quality is not as good with the TN panels that high refresh rate monitors use you can get IPS ones with better colours but they run you double the price

Hey! I don’t know how much help this will be but I believe it might have some potential for your situation. I found this mouse that has a number pad on the side of the mouse. It comes with an interface on your PC that allows you to change any button on the mouse to almost anything you can think of! You can program macros, colors and a lot of other options. Gaming Mouse

You would need a mouse and keyboard adapter to use them on xbox. Xim4 is a popular one that people on consoles use.

I use one of these. Not too expensive ($40) adds 2 paddles to any regular ps4 controller. Been using it for over a year with no problems, feels great too. For Fortnite I've been using Combat Pro with right paddle set to X and left paddle for Square. Jumping around is easier this way imo.

You can plug in a keyboard and mouse to your Xbox but only the keyboard can be used to actually interact with fortnite the mouse will not work, so to use both keyboard and mouse you need to buy an adapter that converts your mouse input to a joystick input and mouse buttons to triggers. $1000 can not only buy you a laptop that will run Fortnite perfectly, but a laptop that can run any game out there without issue. I've since moved on to a desktop but I got a laptop 7 months ago for 900 bucks with an i7 and a GTX 1060. It could run anything I threw at it, most of the time on the highest settings. Hell, my work issued laptop only has a GTX 1050 in it which is a pretty shit card and it can still play Fortnite at higher framerate than an Xbox.

edit : just looked out of curiosity and there's an i5/1060 laptop for a little over 900 right now. I agree the board is pretty lazy and uninspired. Character pieces are just cards, BUT it looks like this version of Monopoly comes with a twist featuring an 'action die' which is supposed to mimick battling. Some kind of health system too, didn't really look into it.

personally for me (im still not great but im better than I was) I invested in a $40 collective minds paddle attachment and mapped the left paddle to L1 and right paddle to R1 so I could build floors and pyramids without taking my index finger off of L2 or R2. I also remapped edit and confirm to right on the d pad with the lowest hold time to switch and made circle the switch mode button only to prevent accidentally editing pieces while trying to switch back to my weapons

It may be nothing special but I like those headphones very much. I have no experience with gaming headsets though so for someone else who is used to high quality gear it may be not o big deal.

You can buy them used for even cheaper. Probably more bulkier than a scuff but a scuf is way too expensive for me. The only downside is they have to be connected by cable to the ps4 but it comes with a long ass cable so that’s not really a problem unless you really need wireless.
