I think there are far better models - I was trying to go a little on the cheap.

SureCall Flare Cell Phone Signal Booster for Home Omni Antenna Configuration | Integrated indoor antenna for easier install | Covers up to 2500 sq ft | Boosts Voice, data for 4G, LTE, 3G https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MS2KFS0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_yC1PDb05AG834

That being said, I got the $299 flare model and it definitely solved the problem - for Fi anyway.

Before I decided on Fi, I tried my AT&T sim and Verizon and both sucked. YMMV depending on your cell towers. Use an app or website to determine what cell towers are near you and look at your topography — my problem is high trees and a hill blocking the tower’s line of sight, although I am no expert and not sure if that really is important.

All I know is that now I have functioning cell service for $35 for 2 lines plus $10/gigabyte and I can live with that rate.

So mad that I paid for AT&T all these years for crap service and I could have switched to T-Mobile — a company I had zero faith in — and have had great service.

I have paid for a DSL backup line because I have to have internet for work and the cable has gone down before. If I had a good data connection I would have saved $75/month!!

You have to pay $0.20/minute for calls.

For you, I’d recommend the 3 UK SIM card(12GB and unlimited calls to all of Europe + to the US and more with a routing number) and a google voice number.

It can roam in 71 countries for free including all of Europe, the US, and others.

If you port a mobile number to google voice for a fee, you’ll be able to receive 2FA codes which isn’t normally supported.

I love that word. :)

Something I did not even know existed was OTG storage, like this. Depending on the phone you use, there is likely a storage option available for you, and they've gotten real affordable.

Also, another weird option is an external battery WiFi storage, like this.

No doubt SD cards are more convenient, but these were workarounds I used to get me through the limitations of the phones I went with.

Have a good one!

Any word on if the Orange 4XL will be coming back in stock before the end of the sale?

And if we'll ever be seeing the (Orange) 128gb 4 / 4XL? You can even get it on Amazon... just not, and never so far, on Google's own phone company store: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YMJ4V4P

There are also historical and geographical reasons, to be fair. Although it's centered around the development of cell phone standards in the UK and not the US, this book has a good section about why cell phone rollout was such a shit show in the US compared to Europe: https://smile.amazon.com/Backroom-Boys-Secret-Return-British-ebook/dp/B004FN1K48/

(ignore the annoying jingoistic tone of the book if you can)

Check out the TikTalk 2. It's not from Fi, but it is compatible with tmobile's network which is what For operates on when using no compatible devices.

Actually, might be wrong, you might just push the pin back down. I don't have a way to test though. Other brands say that's the case, this one doesn't say how it resets the pin. I have:
