I had a similar problem when I lived in Williston. As a short term solution, I just ended up ordering some plug-in heaters from Amazon. I only spent one winter there, so I don’t think I’d try and get by with this daily for years, but it may help until you find a more permanent solution. Good luck!

Yeah, you need to fix the seal as well. I also have the same set of LED headlights as u/SlightlyStoked but mine came with LED fogs as well for about 30 bucks more https://www.amazon.com/Approved-Headlights-Lights-Wrangler-97-2017/dp/B01KNXSIYS I definitely recommend them.

Pull it from the top. Pretty straightforward. Plenty of youtube vids to give you some pointers. Make sure to get all the air out of the system when refilling. If you're planning on keeping this or any other Jeep do yourself a favor and get one of these to make the refill process foolproof. Cheap online or can be had for a couple bucks more at Wally World or any parts store.

The LED's flicker because of PWM. In short, the power feeding them isn't constant DC, it's "pulsed" for a variety of reasons. You'll see people place the blame on the CANBUS, CANBUS is just a communications network. It isn't the culprit, but generally speaking if you have a CANBUS in a vehicle, there's a good chance there are PWM power feeds to various accessories.

You need to buy (or build) a set of LED flicker reducers. Similar to these: Xprite Flicker Adapters

Note that I'm not suggesting those are the best or the worst or the cheapest or the most expensive, they were just on top of the list when I did the search. Make sure whatever you get has the right connectors, unless you plan on cutting the connectors off and wiring them in directly.

You can make your own, if you can get hold of a set of capacitors with enough capacity.

jkfreaks writeup.

I second this. I ordered these off of amazon last month after someone on this sub recommended them. Easy install. You may want to go ahead and purchase extra tree clips for your grille as they’re easy to break. I got them for <$80 shipped and so far haven’t had any issues / leaks.

I guess a better question would be, is this what I'm looking for? Anyone replace this? Is it just glued in?

u/Cookester · 1 pointr/JeepDIY

Thanks for the input. What about just a Shock extender?

You're gonna wanna get some terminal picks like these.
OTC 4461 6-Piece Terminal Release Tool Set with Case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008PV8F30/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_z5RPCbY151847

Ive had luck with just a cheap harbor freight pick set and making my own but the kits work so much better

Any should work. That said if you start seeing any error lights the cap is most likely not sealing properly. You can have your nearest Chrysler dealer order in an OEM for the sure thing. Below are two that I grabbed. The amazon one is from the amazon.ca site so all info for pay/shipping should be correct. The other is for quadratec.

It's the relay, and yea this is probably what's going on. The circuit relies on the resistance through the incandescent bulbs to flash them at the correct rate; same reason the dash light is quicker when you have a bulb out.

As mentioned above, you can spec one for this application, likely for less than $15.

  1. If wind noise bothers you this much, you shouldn't have bought a TJ.

  2. If you wanted a fast car, you shouldn't have bought a 4cyl TJ.

  3. If you wanted AC, you should've taken that into consideration when you purchased the vehicle.

  4. Don't store anything valuable, buy a clutch lock and a lock box.

  5. If you wanted truck space, you shouldn't have bought a TJ.
