Thanks, man.
I usually use 600 grit followed by 1200 grit sandpaper to lightly shape the tip of my ken. I do this every time before I reapply the super glue. This helps remove any old glue and reduce any uneven surface.
I normally use Scotch Super Glue Liquid in Precision Applicator (http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Liquid-Precision-Applicator-AD124/dp/B004O49F7M) as my glue of choice. And apply about 3 layers. The precision tip really helps you control the amount and you can use it to slow spread the glue over the tip of your ken.
I recommend practicing on a chopstick or something with a wooden tip first to get a feel for it.
That is a relatively easy fix. Follow this knot tutorial to make sure the knot is big enough. If you have trouble re-threading the string, using dental floss threaders like these helps. Good luck
After doing making paper pouches of 5x7" and 6x8",it seems that 6x8" will be a better fit and should just close at the top while the 5x7" one will be a bit too tight and might stick out the top just a little bit.
These are the 6x8 ones that I'm ordering right now to see if they'll work well: http://www.amazon.com/Cotton-Muslin-inches-Orange-Drawstring/dp/B004YRAOL0/ref=pd_sim_misc_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=1AR3010BMCJBFNZ1HMYX
I go to a health food store and it's in the aisle with all the lotion making stuff. Amazon or a hobby store might also be a good choice and maybe even a grocery store. You only need a tiny amount like an 1/8th the size of a pea. Heres an Amazon link of some: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWX2IO1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_oLHhDbTB2PBBG
Edit: Amazon link
I feel you pain man. I had a regular HG and a Purpleheart Stripe HG when the new Ice Blue one came out. I'm weaker than you and gave in and spent arguable too much money on it. Its an awesome dama and I think it was worth the money in the end. If you like natural ones, the walnut stripe one from Sol Kendamas is awesome for the money.
I use something called a tool organizer. They look like this https://www.amazon.com/Berry-Ave-Broom-Holder-Organization/dp/B01DI8H364/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1525034121&sr=8-9&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=tool+rack&dpPl=1&dpID=51PWRVBlm3L&ref=plSrch
If you are curious what it looks like with kendamas on it, here is a video of mine https://giphy.com/gifs/kendama-fxC8ZYL23UNLwuLHup
Honestly I can guess that the painted tamas will not be the best. But that price for all the stings and a natty is not terrible.
But the link below is a way better deal imo. Screw the book and cheap paint.

The KUSA is birch which is lighter/softer than the beech Royal.
I'd suggest splurging a bit more for this one, however...
The shape of the ken and tackiness of the tama should both be superior than the other two.
I'll try and get some instructions up soon! Here is the Amazon link for the clips I purchased!
Thanks! The head mount is the AmazonBasics one. It's $7.50 but it's an add-on item so it'll only ship with an order over $25.
