One of the first and most important determinants to prevent kidney stones is living a healthy lifestyle with strong emphasis being on the right diet. You are going to want to avoid beer, soy, chocolates, legumes, wheat, nuts, salt and spinach.

Water is essential for you. To improve the health of your kidneys, get rid of inflammations, infections and stones, drink lots of water. Water will help to flush out stones and impurities form your urinary tract.

Take some Chanca Piedra from time to time. Chanca Piedra means stone breaker and it comes from a plant. With virtually no side effects this herb will help to prevent the formation of new stones and also help to get rid of existing stones by helping to relax the ureter.

Celery Seed extracts have also shown to be quite effective in this manner.

I always recommend Stone Breaker by Eu Natural. It contains the ingredients I mentioned and other vitamins and minerals which have proven to be very helpful in fighting stones and infections. You can get some https://www.amazon.com/STONE-BREAKER-Chanca-Piedra-Gallbladder/dp/B01FERIHYE .

Remember also that your system needs vitamins B6, E and magnesium. Stones are troubling yes but if not careful, they can cause further complications like UTIs and other disorders.

And finally I will advise you to exercise. By this I do not mean go start lifting weights. No, go on hikes, take part in some light exercises, yoga, swimming and others. Stay active.

Remember eat well and watch your diet.

Thanks. I bought a commercial citrus press from Amazon a few weeks ago. I hope it helps. I'm also working on my diet. I've learned a lot from reading this sub. Everyone has been super helpful. http://www.amazon.com/New-Star-Foodservice-46878-Commercial/dp/B00KQ47HL0/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1449199218&sr=8-18&keywords=lemon+press

I am using the tea version:

https://www.amazon.com/Dandelion-Root-Tea-Anti-inflammatory-Antioxidant/dp/B00W2YP17E/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1495447346&sr=8-4&keywords=dandelion

I drink it once a day with hibiscus tea (diuretic, the linked product also has hibiscus in it), so it is not bitter but lemony taste. But also on Amazon you can get Dandelion in pill form. The tea is 1.5 grams of each bag, the pill is 0.5 gram but you have to take 3, so it is the same, for about the same price.

https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Dandelion-Root-525mg/dp/B00014D07U/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1495447346&sr=8-3&keywords=dandelion&th=1

So I guess it comes down to personal preference if you want to drink a tea or pop 3 pills...

I have just checked, my first order was in mid-November, so it has been 6 months, and I haven't got any problems.

If you get pain when passing stones, this medication is excellent for relaxing muscles thus helping to pass the stones:

I have been using it for 10+ years and it has been a life saver. They make it only in East Europe...

Drink tons of water!

I watched a video on youtube the other day that said there is a 64% chance of passing kidney stones on a rollercoaster : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ntH5PqSSlI

I also heard that there is a herb called chanca piedra that is supposed to help with the pain, and possibly even change the shape of the stones, so that they are easier to pass. There are several different types of kidney stones, so while it does work for the majority of them, it doesn't always work for all.

I just found a coupon on Jumpsend (www.jumpsend.com) for 40% off on this Chanca Piedra offering:
https://www.amazon.com/CHANCA-PIEDRA-Crusher-Gallbladder-Capsules/dp/B0043948GQ/ref=sr_1_20_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1506699849&sr=1-20&keywords=Chanca+Piedra

I also heard that drinking lemon juice concoctions help with prevention (due to their high content in natural Citric Acid):

Unless you have any of the symptoms (see the FAQ for these), you needn't worry. The best thing to do is buy a one liter water bottle - something like this and carry it with you wherever you go. I use water "enhancers" like these to keep things interesting. And when about once a week I take the whole thing apart and scrub it out with these brushes - especially the straw part - to keep everything sanitary.

Edit: Disclaimer - I'm not recommending you buy these specific products; I'm just showing what I bought. Anything similar to this works just fine. This is not an advertisement.

Bad pH level can cause kidney stones. Better check it. I use these strips to check my pH. Also, that free book contains useful information about that all. https://www.amazon.com/pH-Test-Strips-Balance-Accurate/dp/B06XG6Z2XC/ref=sr_1_3_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1496663079&sr=1-3&keywords=ph+test+strips+bonus

Fiuggi - Natural Mineral Water, (6)- 1L Glass Bottles https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ERCEJBI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_uVQUSFBxdeOhK

This totally works, So far it has worked for me and a friend who also suffered from kidney stones. It may not help with the pain but definitely helped to make the stones move faster.

I just used a tea strainer something like this (but bought from the local supermarket).

Not very dignified but seemed to work ok for me. Probably wouldn't catch the very smallest ones though

Yeah I don't take a multivitamin, just a vitamin D. My urologist says that he has prescribed up to 50,000 IU a day, so you really can't overdue it.
He has also told me that the bodies metabolism changes over the course of 3-5 years, so you many not be stuck with them forever.

It's not cheap, but if you hate taking those horse pills there is also Litholyte powder
