I bought this one back before christmas: https://www.amazon.ca/BenQ-Console-eSports-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKQUQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1520532948&sr=8-1&keywords=benq+zowie+27%22&dpID=51CVh9U8qmL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

It was $280 CDN back then though. My last one before it was a 24" that wasn't working well anymore, I was going to just get the 24" version of this one but decided to splurge the little extra for the 27. I'm happy with the larger size but it's not really needed and the 24 is probably better value. I actually liked it enough that I just recently bought another for a dual screen setup.

Anyway, obviously I went 1080 instead of 4k as even though I have a ps4 pro, the difference in cost I don't think is at all worth going 4k when it comes to the ps4, though that's just my personal opinion (for PC I might lean towards 4k). As far as difference goes with The Show, I immediately had better results from the first time I switched from my old tv to my first monitor. As a side note, there was no discernible difference for me when I switched from my old ps4 to my ps4 pro halfway through the year.

I think you'd be incredibly happy with any decent 24" 1080 monitor and the value is significantly better than the 4k counterparts. I've been really happy with my BenQs and the other most common ones I see recommendations for the similar 24/27" Asus versions all the time, any of which I think saves you some money compared to 4k and accomplishes everything you're looking for.

There is a reddit for monitor help maybe he meant you were asking unrelated to The Show

Anyway, this is what i have had for awhile

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG248QE-1920x1080-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=asus+monitor&qid=1574814809&sr=8-6

Asus is a good brand imo basically you are looking for anything with a really low response time like this one is 1 ms.. I will say that getting cheaper faster monitor means that you sacrifice on coloring a bit like for me this monitor took some tweaking out of the box but i am happy with it.

Note im not saying this is the best monitor its just the only one I have used and I have enjoyed it.. You could do further research on monitors based off these specs because im sure they have newer models that are better.

Thanks for the help!

I have an Asus VG245H 24 inch monitor so i guess it's only 1080p. I'm not the most tech savvy guy but i want to make sure i have the best settings i can have.

Alot of monitor models usually stick around for years. I got this one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-h6-series-23-ips-led-hd-monitor-black/4751006.p?skuId=4751006
which I purchased recently

I also have this one https://www.amazon.com/Acer-R271-bid-27-inch-Display/dp/B01DM2D8TW
And while its better I got it for my little bro a few years ago. And I am not about to take it back from him. So I went and purchased that 23 inch Acer when it was $89 recently at best buy. The cheaper one does just fine for me and so much better than my TV. And I know so since my hitting stats have gone up considerably.

Displaylag.com gives reviews for lag and input time and obviously lower the better. I could have spent more but didn't want too. Almost any monitor is better than my HdTV. Which isn't old but much harder to hit than vs that acer. I am very aware both of those monitors are not as good vs other ones people post .

But its significantly better than my HdTV and that's the whole point

I've only used a 24" monitor so I can't compare the two sizes, but 24" has been great and I've never felt the need to upgrade. If you're interested, this is the one I use...

https://www.amazon.com/VG248QE-1920x1080-144Hz-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00B2HH7G0

This is the monitor I use. I'm not sure how similar it is to the one you're looking at, but I can definitely say it's the best purchase I've ever made.

u/NewModeler · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Thanks man, that does look good. Someone else recommended this one

Aside from the size difference, which do you think would be better?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00413PHDM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is what I use. It is pretty good for The Show for me and it's really good for the price.

u/Jaben3421 · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Not OP but I use this one with my gaming PC and my PS4. It is a TN panel, but I think it still looks pretty good.

u/indiesnobs · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

I have this Asus 24" I bought back in 2013 and it's great. Much better than playing on my budget 32" HDTV I had to buy when my 42" Vizio crapped the bed.

I bought this one a couple of months ago and it has been great for me. Also it's on sale right now if you have prime although I'm not sure if that applies to you since you're in Australia. Bonus points for this one since you can mount it if you want to.

What size do you want? I would get one that is 144hz with a 1ms response time. I think it's worth it to go a little smaller if it's response time is extremely low, especially for this game. Mine is a 32" curved I got for 399, but it has a 4ms response time.

This is a decent one with really good response time (1ms) for 169$ (24") the 27" version is 249$

https://smile.amazon.com/BenQ-ZOWIE-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKRLO/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1505487662&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=gaming+monitor+144hz+1ms&psc=1

If price is not much of a concern, then bigger is better. Just make sure its 144hz with a 1ms response time. You can get this amazing 32" curved for the low low price of 691$!

I got this one a few months ago and it is awesome.

2019 Newest HP 27 Inch 144Hz FHD(1920 x 1080) Gaming Monitor with AMD FreeSync Technology and Tilt/Height Adjustment, 1ms Response Time, 16:9 Aspect Ratio, HDMI, DisplayPort, 400 Nits https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V62LDVQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_VwWTDb09NDJ8E

Get it from Micro Center though. Much cheaper.

u/jlafont1 · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Just ordered this BenQ. It's been great so far, have had it for a little under a week.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IKDFL4O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I believe it's 2ms response time.

u/nicesausage · 3 pointsr/MLBTheShow

I pre-ordered through Amazon. The only have the standard and MVP editions, if you care about that stuff.

If you are allowed to drill holes (I see the TV is mounted), you really should do something like this:

Datacomm Electronics 50-3323-WH-KIT Flat Panel TV Cable Organizer Kit with Power Solution - White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001PB7UVA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rJ6mDb8BN2EDM

I'm in the exact same boat as you, I was researching it for a while and I pulled the trigger on this one

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00IKDFL4O/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

It was the best bang for my buck I could find, and I've absolutely loved it. The tv I was using had the absolute worst input lag and I've been shocked at not only how well MLB plays on the new monitor, but other games too. Complete game changer for almost any game you play

u/DrRichardShay · 2 pointsr/MLBTheShow

Sadly I don't think you are going to find it any cheaper. It really sucks that you guys continue to get the shaft on baseball games. It is a fantastic game though so I think it is probably worth the price. If the price is that prohibitive you could buy last years edition (here) and save a few pounds.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

I use this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0773ZY26F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6uvADbKHKFAD2

5ms response time. Most people recommend 1ms, but this has been fine for me. I've made WS every season

u/snelling · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Just switched to a BENQ monitor meant for Consoles from my 4k TV and it has been a revelation when it comes to hitting. Night and day difference. Took a couple games to readjust my timing for pitching though lol

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H5KKQUQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/withmymagazines · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Ah gotcha! One last question... Y'all were talking about the vg, I'm looking at the vx for the speakers and it's also $70 cheaper on Amazon. It's 60hz vs 75 on the vg, but same input lag. Any reason I wouldn't want to go with the vx model?

Thanks again

u/TrickXMaster · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Looks like benq finally released an updated version of their console gaming monitors and discontinued the rl2455hm

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01H5KKRLO/ref=dp_ob_neva_mobile

u/kmoc_ · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Then I'm not sure a monitor would give you the ROI you might be thinking you would get. $100 budget would be tight. This is probably as close as you can get and there are a couple twitchy users who play on this one :

Asus VG245H
https://www.amazon.com/24-inch-FreeSync-Monitor-VG245H-Response/dp/B01JGYM5H6
If your local best buy carries it, They will price match that link. That's what I did. No complaints from that monitor at all.

Is this a good one?

Here's the standard edition: https://www.amazon.com/MLB-Show-17-Standard-PlayStation-4/dp/B01MQA3LZG

The MVP edition is currently unavailable. I'm assuming they ran out of their planned inventory. I was able to order it last month. Here's the link anyway: https://www.amazon.com/MLB-Show-17-MVP-PlayStation-4/dp/B01M32DHAK?th=1

i switched to a monitor last year and i'll never play another video game on my tv. even when my tv was in game mode, it was tougher for me to hit, especially high and inside fastballs.

i use this benq 27 inch monitor

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-ZOWIE-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKQUQ

benq is the gold standard for gaming monitors, imo. i also use this screen for other tasks (work related stuff) and ive had zero complaints with it. would buy again

u/Jomo_sapien · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

I couldn't find a 30 inch monitor with acceptable input lag, but this 27" has input lag of 9ms, which is just about as low as you can go. Reasonable price as well.
