I'd suggest playing it on your original xbox, since the 360 uses an emulator it can get pretty glitchy sometimes. Plus this way you can pick up your game!

I know people prefer PC to play these kinds of games but honestly I thought the menu system on the xbox was much better (less clunky) but it's probably just personal preference.

I dont know what to say, but are you sure youre ordering the black GOTY edition? I bought the silver one without looking closely, so i didnt get the expansions.

If I had the goty id send it to you, but i just got the silver one.

One star reviews on this were pretty funny http://www.amazon.com/The-Elder-Scrolls-III-Morrowind-Xbox/dp/B00008XKZM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1370482724&sr=8-2&keywords=morrowind

As far as I know, the only place to download it is on Steam. But Steam is free and typically cheaper than Gamestop -- why don't you have it?

Anyway, you can get a physical of it for pretty cheap on Half.com or Amazon. You could also try /r/gameswap if you are willing to part with something.

Truth be told, you're probably better off just downloading off Steam or Impulse.

Anyways, if you are set on a physical copy, you can get it off Amazon for a decent price. Sure, you get an extra copy of Morrowind, but oh well. Yes, the expansions come on separate disks.

Your other option is eBay (Bloodmoon) (Tribunal). While I've had nothing but good eBay experiences, you do run a risk and it is generally just more of a hassle.

This is an i7 processor. Just saying "i7" doesn't mean jack shit. Being an i7 doesn't make it good. It depends on the model.

There is very little to no difference when it comes to gaming between the i7s and the i5s. i7s are better for photo/video editing and other stuff, but the difference between them are negligable when it comes to gaming.

My 390 pretty far outclasses the 5850.

There is a way to work around that depending on how much work you want to put in.

This guide shows you how to get the SATA drive out of the 360 HDD, and once that is open I imagine you shouldn't have a hard time finding the files. You can plug it in directly to your computer if you have the SATA slots available or use a tool like this to access the drive.

Here is a guide on locating original xbox saves once you hook your drive up.

I use Winsor and Newton brand oil paints. They tend to have a nice firm consistency that works well for how I paint.

The Morrowind Prophecies was my Bible. I used to read it cover to cover in school and leave it in my locker and then try to play through at home recalling as much as I could. In this way, my childhood self was convinced this wasn't "cheating"

For real though it was insanely helpful if only for the maps. Some of the directions NPCs give you are just flat out wrong.

Yeah I would say the textures are what's killing it. Low end hardware like a netbook has next to nothing as far as GPU power or memory. My netbook is the gateway ec1436, which has a way better cpu and gpu but it definitely chugs if I use any texture mods at all. I have a 128GB sandforce SSD so that helps, but it really comes down to the fact that these things have nothing as far as a GPU.

I think Amazon ships internationally. Their international shipping rates look pretty reasonable, too.

I just bought third party component cables online from either ebay or amazon.ca.

http://www.amazon.com/Silver-Plated-HDTV-High-Definition-Component-Cable-Packaging/dp/B000F2JUOK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1393905727&sr=8-2&keywords=xbox+component+cables

either of these are what you're after, though they might be even cheaper on ebay from honk kong or china. as far as your tv settings go in the meantime, it should just be the picture size button

What is your excuse to buy DRM Morrowind on steam while you can get real Morrowind with a map on Amazon for $10? http://www.amazon.com/The-Elder-Scrolls-III-Morrowind-Pc/dp/B0000CNUUP

u/BugsbyBearkeley · 34 pointsr/Morrowind

It's worth noting that this includes a digital scan of the Morrowind Prophecies strategy guide, which the Steam version does not include. It also contains all the minor DLC.

u/Stargos · 2 pointsr/Morrowind

I'll have to get the steam version eventually because one day I won't have a cd player. Even now I had to hook one up to install these.

Also just to show OG street cred I have the Morrowind Prophecies strategy guide that was released by Bethesda themselves.

>Do they ever go on sale on Steam or anywhere else?

Every Steam Sale you can get Morrowind and Oblivion GOTY for like $5, Skyrim Legendary is usually around $7.49.

It goes on sale more times a year than I can count. But you can also get the Elder Scrolls Anthology, it has EVERY Elder Scrolls from Arena to Skyrim and all DLC for Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.

It also comes with new and updated maps for Tamriel, High Rock/Hammerfell, Morrowind, Cryodill, and Skyrim (fair warning, this map isn't as good as the map that came with Skyrim, which was made with a thicker paper).

I'd say go for the Elder Scrolls Anthology if you want every game, or wait till the next sale on Steam.

You should really never leave Seyda Neen and the surrounding countryside until you have at least two or three levels under your belt. There are plenty of level appropriate enemies and quests in the area and even running into a cliff racer before you're ready can get you killed.

Least, that's my opinion.

I also assume you're playing a mage character? I would always recommend your spell casters be proficient with at least one kind of weapon, because even more than in skyrim or oblivion, in morrowind running out of magicka is a huge, huge problem.

Edit: Also if ever there was a game where a guide book was called for, Morrowind is it. I highly recommend trying to get your hands on a copy of this full of tons of useful info on creatures and enemies, maps, and walkthroughs of most of the games quests, which I promise you will want from time to time.
