I had this problem ALL the time when I was at my highest, just over 400. It’s interesting to hear that someone else experienced it. I did toss and turn a lot more than I do now, due to my untreated hip dysplasia, but so did my ex, who was normal sized, and his side only rarely popped off. Now that I’m 100+lbs lighter, it only happens when I’ve waited too long to wash my sheets, which is a good reminder that I’ve been a little gross and forgotten to strip the bed, lol. I used all the clips, too, and they would work for a couple days, but what I found that finally worked for a week at a time or so was the select comfort sheets, because they have big ol elastic straps in the corner, but they were like $150/set of king sheets...still, as a big ol fat cripple, you gotta pick your battles, and paying a ton for sheets was worth it then. It used to be nearly impossible to find sheets with those pre-sewn straps, but now lots of amazon sellers have sheets like that, and now that I’m spoiled by them, I’ll never go back!

ETA:

Reasonably priced sheet recommendation
Have had 2 sets of these for 2yrs, and they’re as good or better than $150+ select comfort sheets.

I think it's posted under the wrong season on Amazon. Am I allowed to post an Amazon link? I just bought this episode, it had the right description and air date but I'm still not sure if it's the newest one.

EDIT: THIS IS IT! What a ride, friends.

Edit2: awww thx for the Silver coin, anon :D

Several of the above answers are perfect and scientifically sound. I, however, choose to believe that Steven Assanti either has satyr hooves or is turning into Tim Curry’s character in Legend

You can get scales that read up to a thousand pounds for less than $300. I realize that this cuts deeply into the food budget so isn't an option for most of the people who would be on the show.

This seems to be the best deal going right now and would work for most normal morbidly obese people. Not like a James K. or a Sean, but most.

Toilet seats can break easily. I use a "Big John" toilet seat. They can handle up to 1200 pounds.

These days, I wouldn't want to try the stairs or the floors of the duplex my grandparents used to live in. And sometimes I think I could pull a stairway railing right out of the base if I put all my weight against it.

It's on Amazon but for some reason it's mixed in with with regular season 6 even though it's a "Where are they now?" episode.

Here is a link to the season, it's at the very bottom.

They make little peddlers (like this one) that she could use while still sitting on the side of the bed.

A lot of people on the show have to ask their spouse/caretaker to wipe for them. Some obese people use extenders, but I think a lot of these people are past that point.
