Have you considered two 3S LiPo in parallel? May be more manageable size wise. 800W / 11.1V nominal is 72.1A which would take a 0.155 Ohm resistance. That's definitely not going to be a good idea on 18650, parallel bank or not. With 9 18650's you could possibly get there by making triple parallel banks maybe.

At full 12.6V, that's 81.3A, 1024W.

Have you thought about how much heat is made by 800W? You can heat a room with that.

Edit to add strikethroughs and to add:

nope nope nope. Just has bad idea written all over it.

I think it's totally justified. I'm proud I can be the reason. ;)

Though, just to be perfectly clear, I'm not offering at the moment to take this on. Just adding thoughts/opinions/ideas.

It sounds like a really awesome idea and to me seems totally feasable. I just don't know what my time looks like at the moment because of building my boxes. I think it would be a really cool side project though.

What were you thinking for a price range on the commission?

My biggest concern would be being able to fit everything in there.

I'm thinking that a separate button for the LED (if the full internals can't be shifted or shrank) which would also have separate batteries. Probably AA's. Probably like a tactile switch similar to a DNA box.

And really, I'm thinking the same type switch for the fire button, if I wouldn't be able to utilize the stock button for some reason. Or maybe use the stock button but have it depress the tactile switch. IDK. Just putting thoughts down "on paper".

I don't know the size of these anymore. As I said, I haven't seen one in a while.

But, a quick search brought me this.

IDK.

This style would be easier to work with. Wood or metal, the right angle and straight runs will make things a lot easier/cleaner.
