500mg? You're going to have a very, very bad time. That's 50 times what you should be taking.

Assuming proper technique(which I will explain shortly), 10mg will give you a good first trip. That's right, just the smallest pinprick of the stuff.

As you can see from this chart, 500mg is recommended for beginners assuming you're smoking PURE LEAF.

You're smoking a very strong extract fourty times as potent as pure leaf, which is actually unnecessarily strong, but they sell it anyways because god knows why.

So the math is easy. 500mg / 40x = 12mg.

12mg is the dose to get a common trip for the stuff you're taking.

If you want to just go balls deep on your first toke, which I don't recommend, then smoke 20mg. That's the deepest I've ever gone, and it's left me emotionally and mentally changed for life. I hope you know that you're not smoking weed here. You're not even smoking DMT. DMT can be kinder than salvia. Salvia is the "beats you up in a back alley with a bat" of all drugs. It's quick, unexpected, and brutal... but sometimes it's just what you deserve(and need) at that moment in your life.

I mentioned proper technique. You're going to want to use a propane lighter, for one. Propane lighters generate enough heat to reach the vaporization point of salvia. Regular old gas station cig lighters won't do, and you'll end up with an unpredictable trip that could be far too weak or far too strong depending on how much of the Salvinorin the lighter is able to vaporize.

I can recommend this bad baby: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EP2NB6E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I smoked my salvia with her, and always got a predictable trip. You'll of course need to buy propane cartridges to fill it up.

The other, and possibly most important part of technique is to hold the smoke in for as long as possible. I'm saying at least 20 seconds. If you don't do this, you won't feel the trip. Every second the smoke is held in will be another step further into la-la-land. You'll be able to feel the salvinorin enter your bloodstream and warp your perception as you hold in the breath longer and longer, and it'll be interesting, to say the least.

That's it. If you follow everything here, you'll have a safe trip that doesn't burn through your entire gram in one day on a horrible nightmare trip.

I wish you safe voyage, cosmonaut.

I have a geekvape mod rig that has a temp range up to 800F. Vaping temp is definitely achievable.

I'd be interested if Salivinorin A dissolves in DMSO. This is what I prefer for DMT, and it dissolves in it really well, while keeping a very liquid state (above 65F, which is where pure DMSO crystallizes).

This is the one I have. It's awesome and has been working well for about six months and counting!

Yeah, I'd recommend this scale here, it's really cheap and super accurate for weighing out anything less than 20g. I also use it to weigh out my bud pickups and make sure I didn't get ripped off. Just use an index card as weigh paper and you're set.

Edit- also, a large part of what makes the salvia trip "good" or "bad" for me is set/setting. I turn the lighting low, turn on some quiet, peaceful music, and block the door and windows in my room so I can't leave while I'm tripping. I also trip alone, because I find doing it with other people around usually makes it bad.

Edit 2- also, it would be super weird if I were tripping without a shirt around other people. Another reason to barricade yourself in and take a short visit down the rabbit hole alone.

Very interesting! One of the reasons I wanted to experiment with Salvia Div was this book (https://www.amazon.com/Salvia-Divinorum-Doorway-Thought-Free-Awareness/dp/1594773475/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1519600866&sr=8-4&keywords=salvia+divinorum). I did not, and likely will not do nearly as much as the author, but his experiences were too intriguing to pass up.

It's about Salvia. It's a blend of autobiographical material and more of a journalistic approach to its history, modern use and the philosophical implications of what people experience on it. https://www.amazon.com/Summer-Salvia-Exploring-Hallucinogen-Existence-ebook/dp/B074WD7VC6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1511211141&sr=8-1&keywords=summer+of+salvia

Thank you for all the info.

I wondered if thats what was making the leaves darker and lighter.

A bigger pot? Are you sure? this is the pot i have now https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000IF7PLO/ref=twister_B010SBSTC6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 (the 12 inch one)... Its pretty big. about 11 inches tall (and im guessing 12 in diameter). i COULD get a bigger pot. Perhaps one that has twice the volume, or even 3 times.. but beyond that it would start to get ridiculous.

I have no out door space, i am on the 5th floor of an apartment building in an urban area. My window can get quite hot/sunny at times though so theres that.

Also this 12 inch pot is an upgrade from the 3 inch pot it came in.. if it survived as long as it did in the 3 inch pot i sort of have a hard time believing its already outgrown the 12 inch pot. but whatever haha.

I do plan to take cuttings sooner or later- i just worry about increasing the stress on the plant.
