So, I'm actually in the process of figuring out a joystick mod myself, will let you know when I've managed to do it up right. However, I'm going a different route than the ps4. I'm basically thinking of modding it to use the xbox ones/elites magnetic swappable sticks. They claim to fit the ps4 as well, but honestly I cant confirm as all I have is the SC.

To make a long story short, those are too big for the SC... and I accidentally destroyed a top chassis trying to grind it out to fit. So, I am currently working on modifying the joystick cad file, because the base will fit an otherwise unmodified SC, to have the stem and slots for the magnets. I'll report back when I have it all done and a nice strong, highly detailed print from shapeways in my hand.

Putting some dot stickers like these ones help a bit.

I dunno if its the best solution, but it gives the right stick an effective center. but I personally use one of those stickers with the hollow center.

Painted the face-plate of my Steam Controller with Rust-Oleum Galaxy Blue color shift spray paint. I've never spray painted anything before, but it turned out pretty decently. Obviously not great but good enough for me. It looks a lot better in person, especially with the way the color changes depending on the angle you look at it.

I also added GT-5000 grip tape to the triggers, bumpers, and paddles, with strips on the side (got the idea from u/Giom8's post). In addition to that, I used electrical tape on the bumpers, pads, and paddles, to make them quieter and softer, and have installed u/gregregorovich's D-Pad analog stick replacement.

The person who put on the pink metal thumbstick used a drill press to lower the inner stem a bit. You could easily do the same thing to the Xbox One and PS4 controller analogue sticks as they have the same inner stem that they slot onto the controller with as the metal pink one. So if you wanna try it out I'd suggest buying a set from eBay or Amazon, using the first one as a tester and using the second stick in case the first one doesn't work :)
