I bought mine two weeks ago, with the i7 and 16G of ram, if you get the 8G single stick you can upgrade later on. I upgraded my storage myself with an ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro which are significantly cheaper than Samsung EVO’s counterparts, in my case I wanted a 1TB nvme drive and the XPG was $163 compared to the +$335 upgrade cost of the similar Samsung nvme while also performing just as well or very close to Samsung nvmes in real world benchmarks so they are a good choice to consider if you’re trying to save a couple hundred bucks. Also, when i upgraded my storage on my own, not only did I save $172 but also got to keep the stock 240G ssd so that was a cool bonus.

The USB Power Delivery battery I've had good luck with is here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MZ61PRW/

This isn't surprising.

> System76 products are compatible with world wide power grids. You may need to purchase a plug adapter for your computer.

This is saying that the charging brick is compatible worldwide, so you don't need to buy an expensive charging brick, but you still need to buy a cheap power cable or adapter.

You should be able to buy a cheap cable like this and plug it into the power brick. You should be able to find it at any computer hardware store. Or a simple adapter will do.

Thanks, the charging worked when I bought a USB-C charger. Although, the first charger I bought did not work, even though it was 60 watts. So there seems to be firmware compatibility issues with some chargers. The one that worked for me is the 60 watt Anker.

I was thinking about this Caldigit dock. It has dual display ports. What are your thoughts on this dock?

Are you running dual displays with the TS3 Plus?

I just got a Darter Pro and bought a Cable Matters TB3 dock for it. Everything works with the exception of the second monitor. I read somewhere that some laptops don't support dual displays through Thunderbolt, regardless of OS. I couldn't find anything specifically about the Darter (Clevo N151ZU), but it seems likely from my experimentation that you won't be able to get two displays out of the Thunderbolt port.

I also noticed that with a fully updated installation of PopOS, the dock is basically unusable when TB security is in place. I disabled it in the EFI firmware, but just keep in mind that without security enabled you'll need to be careful about what you plug in there. When I had security enabled, the system would frequently fail to authorize the dock on boot, and would also often hang on shutdown.

Even with security disabled, sometimes if I remove and replug the dock while the system is running, the network and USB ports will fail to initialize. However, I have had that same experience on Lenovos and Dells in Windows, so I think that's more of a Thunderbolt issue than Linux or Darter Pro.

A simple Thunderbolt 3 dock such as this https://www.amazon.com/Certified-Cable-Matters-Thunderbolt-Computers/dp/B01DYFHYNS is more than enough.

If you have further queries on Thunderbolt 3 on Linux, fire a question this way.
