If you consider that June embodied some of Nancy Friday's ideas - and how Nancy Friday has been received by the sex-negative "no more fun of any kind" types, and how June's mum was taking her to Take Back The Night rallies"... her whole dynamic with her mum was treacked by Friday in My Mother/My Self.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/My-Mother-Myself-Nancy-Friday/dp/0006382517/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=nancy+friday+my+mother&qid=1568885299&s=books&sr=1-1

From June or Janine's POV, Lucy Stone WOULD embody Aunt Lydia's POV. CF the beasting in S2E1, especially the way Lydia sais they had had "freedom to" and they now, under Gilead, had "freedom from".

JUne to Janine re getting hammered and spendign a night doign karaoke as part of the talkdown off the bridge in S1E9 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9L8atMUVMk

Suffragists and conservative Temperance Societies often linked together... Katie Roiphe tracked how this played out in culture in The Morning After. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Morning-After-Sex-Fear-Feminism/dp/0241002575/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=roiphe+the+mornign+agter&qid=1568885023&s=books&sr=1-1-spell

Just off the top of my head aside from the genre staples (1984, V for Vendetta, Brave New World, etc.)

The Unit by Ninni Holmqvist.

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi

Shades of Grey: A Novel by Harper Fforde

I am currently reading The Passages by Just in Cronin

Sorry for the formatting, on mobile. I will clean it up later.

Goodreads has a lot of great lists of dystopian books.

I'm confused abt all these posts recently. It's not hard to find them and I'm pretty sure the majority find them on line. Most girls/women are super busy:

Or... for more style and less cheap costumy stuff do "long red dress" in Amazon or, better yet, Esty.

The estimated premiere is April 2018, similar to last year. The filming starts soon if it hasn't already. Moss stated that it will begin in September. It will be 13 episodes instead of 10 if the rumors are to be believed.

I assume they'll film primarily in Toronto, but since the world is expanding considerably - according to the showrunner - they may film in other locations as well. Here are some of the locations they filmed at last year.

Enjoy the rest of the show! (Also make sure to read the book, if you haven't!)

That’s an older edition, likely a first edition.

For people who can’t make it out, the absolutely grotesque cover art depicts a naked, infantilized woman vainly struggling to free herself from the arms of an oversized man who “lovingly” cradles her as if she’s some kind of pet.

For the longest time that was the only cover art the book had. I’m SO glad they’ve come out with a new hardback edition with different (and imho, far better) art: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1328879941/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=&sr=

As another redditer pointed out, you could probably make some good money off it though.

> I want to know what it was in Hitler's psyche that caused it

Off topic, but some good reading, " Auschwitz: A New History"

Hitler wasn't very hands on about the Holocaust. He spoke about ridding Europe of Jews and his underlings basically interpreted that as mass relocation and it progressed from there. Heinrich Himmler was the engineer of the Holocaust and it's his leadership and ideas that are directly responsible for what happened in Europe.

:) It's Queen Bee, just FYI

This is the book that Mean Girls was based on - a self-help book, of all things!

What about a stamp set?

These are clear stamps, so you need an acrylic block, as well as ink, of course.

Read about 1979 Iran - it happened a lot like that. You can also read Reading Lolita in Tehran (https://www.amazon.com/Reading-Lolita-Tehran-Memoir-Books/dp/0812979303) - and see how and why women supported the revolution, and what happened after.

Here's what life looked before 1979:

Add this to your reading list as another take on the transition of the US from representative republic to autocratic Christian Reconstruction state.
