I love my brother printer, ink for it is super inexpensive comparatively. I can get 20 cartridges for $15: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXXH3FF/

I've been posting my photos/GIFs/video on reddit for a few years, and now I have a book (reddit is actually in the acknowledgement section!)

It's a large format book with lots of great photos showcasing all new things cut in half. There's even a part at the beginning where I talk about the 60,000psi waterjet I use to make this happen.

Shameless plug for the book, if you're interested: https://www.amazon.com/Cut-Half-Hidden-Everyday-Objects/dp/1452168628

Now that this book is live I can get posting new videos again :)

A clone of the city makes up the bulk of the setting of The Carlucci Novels by Richard Paul Russo.

Perdido Street Station by China Mieville is heavily influenced by KWC, but the city in the book (New Crobuzon) isn't an exact copy of the city like in the other novel, just built similarly.

This is from my favourite book... The machinery of life, by David Goodsell.

The pics are actually to scale, and in some cases... every, single atom is represented... this is actually amazing when you consider that Atoms are too small to be imaged, they need to be crystallized and have x-rays bounced off them in order to calculate their positioning. 3D representative images are then drawn in CAD software.

This book is a good introduction to the growth of containerization and aimed at a general audience.

This is from the books Incredible Cross Sections of Star Wars. Their books are very detailed and just plain awesome!

You're getting downvoted, but you are probably right. The batteries that were most commonly marketed as 18V were substantially heavier.

The difference is the battery tech: The 18V one would be NiCad, the 20V one is LiPo. LiPo's have much greater power density, so they use a smaller battery to get the same capacity. The also hold a charge considerably longer between uses and don't have the issues with memory.

You could also get a heavier battery by increasing capacity (more use between charges). That's probably not the case here since they would likely both be 20V if they were LiPos, but it's possible.

Edit: Err... LiIon, not LiPo.

This is it. I got it out the Works for five quid. It's mostly worthless as history, but it does have these interesting cutaways in it.

Absolutely! One of the pilots wrote a book on this trip. Well worth the read!

I bought my 20v dewalt kit over the 18v because the batteries weigh half as much.

Edit: American dewalt 18v versus American dewalt 20v.

These books were hands down my favorites as a kid (and still are to be honest)
Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide

In case you're wondering, I believe that all of these "food cooking cut in half" pictures are from Modernist Cuisine: The Art of Science and Cooking by Nathan Myhrvold.

And here's a link to the actual hardcover book that originally featured this drawing among many others! Must-have for any Star Wars ship/technology enthusiast. <<<<Not kidding. I got it for Christmas when it was published in 1998, and now i'm almost 30 but still pull it off the shelf every month or three to flip through it in awe.
