If you're interested in using the camera, film is still made for it. It's pricey but fun! Just make sure you read the instructions to get the best results!

Amazon link.

It looks like this was a big Christmas toy for rich parents in 2008. It originally retailed for $299.99.

Talked to a couple at their garage sale, and they said their son was afraid of it. They were asking $100 but we got it for $30. Pretty sure this is going to my boyfriend's sister's 3 kids. Regardless, it was funny driving around with it in the back of the car.

All non-gaming Roku remotes should be compatible with the 2XS.

A gaming remote is nicer though, because the remote doesn't require line-of-sight and the buttons are easier to press / are more responsive. However, you need to buy a gaming remote specific to the 2XS, as they are not compatible between different model numbers. (Don't bother with the games themselves though... rubbish.)

There's also an official remote app for smartphones.

One annoyance is that you need to supply your credit card number to establish your Roku account.... ostensibly so you're ready to subscribe to pay channels or rent-stream movies from Amazon, Vudu, Red Box, etc. Establishing your Roku account doesn't actually cost anything. When I do subscribe to a pay channel, it's much easier to do it through a web browser and then validate the channel on my Roku box.

When you get the remote, it needs to be paired with your Roku box. Instructions should be on Roku's website.

Ok so I got the legs from goodwill for $5 in the box and everything. But I honestly think they have them at Home Depot for like 20. I got the handles on amazon-they were an opened box. They were silver and the legs were black so I spray painted. I did sand it but not very much lol. The color is starlessnight by behr. And to everyone saying they like the wood more-lucky you your wouldn’t have to take the time to paint it! Thanks to everyone saying they like it!! handles ](

Thank you! I actually just found the set on amazon! amazon link I'm excited to start using. The markers in the set are still fresh too. Looks like it was barely used.

I opened it up and someone else was eyeing it up and asked if I was going to buy it lol

Safety razors are fantastic. You save so much money even when you buy the best blades. Once I got the technique down, I get virtually no irritation after a shave. With those stupid 5 blade razors I was guaranteed red bumps on my neck for the next few days.

Astra superior platinum blades are my favorite that I've tried. They're a little more expensive but the quality is fantastic and I get 3-4 shaves off each one.

My wife and I received that same waffle maker for our wedding over 10 years ago and it's still tickin' strong! And we've used Michel Roux's waffle recipe from his book, Eggs for most all that time as well.

A couple tips:

  1. Crank the heat all the way to 5. And once you've got batter in it, let it sit another 15-20 seconds after the light goes green (indicating the waffle is done).
  2. Find a good recipe that calls for more butter in the batter, allowing you to lighten up on greasing the iron. (Joy of Cooking, has a good recipe too). Just a short burst of butter-flavored cooking spray at the beginning of your waffle-making-session and the butter in the batter should carry you along the rest of the way.

For what it's worth, that looks like a SX-70. You might have luck with something like this:

Old Polaroid film is more expensive and a lot dicier proposition as to if it works or not after so many years.

The price was way too rich for my blood, but as the parent of a dinosaur addicted toddler this was pretty cool to find kicking around.

Here's a link to some information about it on Amazon:

Hah! The film is more expensive than the camera! Good find. Also, the market value of the camera seems to be over $100!

u/Purrsy_Nappington · 7 pointsr/ThriftStoreHauls

This is the least expensive method. You can spend hundreds of dollars for electronic devices designed for testing precious metals as well.

I got this off a neighborhood resale/posting website. He posted it 40 mins prior to me messaging him and I got it first. He told me when we picked it up that 6 people had messaged him about it after I had. :) I'll be using it to store my paints since I don't drink. Pic of the art on the inside. I found it on Amazon and it's worth $149.99.

There's one for 5Q and one for 5.5-6Q, so make sure you get the right one! :)

u/Theageofpisces · 1 pointr/ThriftStoreHauls

Super late to this, but you can buy sanitizing spray similar to what bowling alleys use.

I bought this one and I guess it worked just fine.

u/kraftythings · 1 pointr/ThriftStoreHauls

Thanks! You're missing the close parentheses on the url though

and for others I found this link/synopsis more informational

How'd you like the book though, might read it over the summer, seems really different

u/aki1801 · 2 pointsr/ThriftStoreHauls

There are shoe disinfectant sprays, if you were okay with buying something. About $10 on Amazon.

u/AsoBit · 4 pointsr/ThriftStoreHauls

I agree with this. Found a DE razor at an antique mall for $20 and use these razors. I bought a pack of 100 in August 2012 and am nowhere near halfway through them.

i've never been much of an audiophile when it's came to headset's.. how's the quality of these?

i paid 16 on amazon for these in janurary.

u/HM05_Me · 5 pointsr/ThriftStoreHauls

There are kits you can buy for testing precious metals. Found one on Amazon, though I haven't personally used this one. To test, you rub the metal onto the provided block and then apply the corresponding acid. The acid will eat away at other metals and show if it isn't gold or the indicated karat.

Got one of those cameras a few months ago. I see Polaroids at Goodwill all the time but this particular OneStep definitely screams gaudy and it had to be bought. The camera is powered by the battery in the film so it most likely won't work (though it's possible). This should be compatible with the camera though:

The other pickers must have missed this one since the barcode and ISBN on the back don't get you to the right listing. I'll probably list it under the non-accesscard listing since it's about the same price and sells better.

u/RichardDickrich · 2 pointsr/ThriftStoreHauls

Remember this is for the pull-apart film. This is not for the 600 series instant cameras.

u/[deleted] · 3 pointsr/ThriftStoreHauls

Wrong. These are the ones that OP has. You have to see what color the weights go up to.
